My Succubus Harem System In The Reverse World
Chapter 133: Turning an Open Socket Into a Spearpoint
Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Turning an Open Socket Into a Spearpoint
I laughed once, still staring at the gold node and the red arrows drawn around it like teeth.
"I think it’s time we look at this from another direction."
Jenna’s head tilted.
"Hmm?"
"Why do we have to treat this like pure protection?" I said.
"If the frequency is open for them, it’s open for us. We hunt their supports first."
Rei’s eyebrows rose.
"Hunt?"
She said it like she was tasting the word for blood.
Jenna, though, looked at me like someone who had already drawn the same line on a private slate and was waiting for one of us to say it out loud.
"Rev’s right," Jenna said.
"The exam isn’t only about Revien. It’s about how well a unit can deny other anchors the same way rivals will try to deny you. The Inverse rules apply to every gold node on the grid. When you enter the final practical field, you will not be alone with your fear. You will have multiple teams under the same clock, the same open-tether logic, the same extraction thresholds."
Gianna’s arms folded tight.
"So we protect our support while hunting theirs."
"Exactly."
The projection shifted. The single gold-and-crimson wireframe unfolded into a wider plan, several nodes, overlapping radii, timer bars, scored separation vectors running in more than one direction.
"While other units spend the Scramble worrying how to keep themselves from being peeled," Jenna continued, "you force the tempo. You cut their connections. You do not wait to be the only prey in the story."
Rei’s mouth curved.
"I like this version better."
"You would," Gianna said, not quite a complaint.
Jenna ignored the spark.
"Unlike the dual structure you three have been drilling, other teams keep contact through different architectures, tether lines, brands, formation locks, support-side pulse nets. Sixty seconds is not a universal constant. Some force-pair windows will be longer. Some will be shorter. Some will not need a full pair at all if they can break your fulcrum and score the displacement."
I watched the nodes pulse.
"So it’s a battle royale."
"Yes," Jenna said.
"The ones still standing with intact fulcrum architecture when the phase clock dies take the strongest grades. It is time-driven, not a pure elimination count, though disables, separations, and successful extractions still feed the total."
I listened carefully, filing each clause the way I had filed drop-order sequence and marker integrity.
A system pane flickered at the edge of my sight without being asked.
[Network status — Provisional]
[Primary Anchor: Gianna Everheart — Linked / Conditional trust]
[Secondary Candidate: Rei Lawless — Linked / Volatile]
[Open-Tether exposure: HIGH during Scramble phase]
[Advisory: Host is both fulcrum and quarry. Offensive denial of rival anchors improves survival odds.]
I dismissed the extra commentary and kept the useful shape.
Then I frowned at Jenna.
"But my line doesn’t work like that, right?"
She looked at me.
Waiting.
"I mean it," I said.
"I spent days training just to keep these two on a stagger without the chains tearing themselves apart. Primary rhythm, tracking bandwidth, pulse motor, drop-and-read. How do random applicants simply take hold of me in sixty seconds like I’m a public terminal?"
Rei snorted.
"Arrogant."
"Practical," I said.
"If bonding were easy, we would not have failed dual feed twice before the mock."
Jenna’s answer was clean and unpleasant.
"They don’t have to take over."
She tapped the line again.
"Severing is enough."
I went still.
"Hmm?"
"A rival support does not need your full architecture, your favorability graph, or your private sequence language," Jenna said.
"The exam system only requires interruption and hold. Break the active feed between you and your unit. Occupy your radius long enough for the phase logic to register capture or force-pair progress. The board is not testing whether strangers can become your new primary in a minute. It is testing whether your unit can stop them from turning you into an open socket."
Gianna’s voice was tight.
"So the training still matters."
"More than ever," Jenna said.
"Your stagger is how you recover after a partial peel. Radius discipline is how you never give them the sixty seconds clean. Hunting rival supports is how you force other teams to play defense instead of lining hooks at his chest."
Rei rolled a shoulder.
"And if their support is weak?"
"Then you remove a fulcrum and watch their Vanguards lose high-tier stability the same way you would if someone took him."
Jenna’s gaze swept all three of us.
"Do not confuse ’non-lethal ceiling’ with ’gentle.’ Dirty within the rules. Fast. Coordinated."
I exhaled.
"Test is in a week."
"Train body and mind," Jenna said. "I expect all of you to pass."
Her eyes narrowed a fraction.
"Unless someone decides to target you specifically."
I chuckled.
Of course.
"And is there anyone?"
"A few names are already moving in gossip and sponsor channels."
Jenna didn’t offer the list.
"You don’t need the full pressure load today. Keep your mind clear. Train. I will keep feeding reports as they harden into something actionable."
She glanced from Rei to Gianna, and the guildmaster tone returned in full.
"Good that you two are cooperating. Remember the hierarchy of the field. He may be the important asset in the Scramble, the gold node, the open frequency, the thing hooks are built for."
A pause.
"You two are the players. Assets do not win Inverse Intake alone. Players who hesitate lose them."
Gianna held Jenna’s stare.
"We won’t hesitate."
Rei’s smile showed teeth.
"I’ve never hesitated. I only needed permission to treat other supports like targets instead of scenery."
"You have it within exam law," Jenna said.
"Not outside it. Not in corridors. Not as an excuse to settle private scores on academy ground."
Rei’s eyes flicked toward Gianna, then away.
"Copy."
I looked at the schematic one more time, the gold node no longer only a chew toy, now also a spearpoint if we chose to move first.
"So the plan is dual," I said.
"Hold our pocket. Break theirs. I stay hard to move and fast to return. You two decide who gets peeled before we do."
"And you don’t shut the channel out of panic," Gianna added.
"Even if someone latches. We recover. We don’t gift the board an anchor-failure flag because you got noble."
"I heard Jenna the first time," I said.
"Collapse is still collapse."
"Good."
Rei stepped onto the mat proper, already restless. ’
"When do we start hunting drills?"
"Now."
