Chapter 1072: Chapter 603: Don’t Be a Hardheaded Kid at the Card Table (Part 3)

③ As long as there is an abolished zone on your field, the activation of this follower’s effect cannot be chained by any card effect. If this follower leaves the field due to non-voluntary tribute or battle destruction, and at that time the opponent has any sealed zones, then until the end of the duel, those zones are abolished.

Spirit Value: 6000

As Alice roamed and shuttled through various worlds, her strength kept rising. At the same time, those fifteen-star follower cards that originally couldn’t be extracted also had their extraction restrictions lifted—Antipus among them.

Same as Sinful Saintess Anna, Antipus can only enter the hand via drawing. Considering that in Life Card Duels all follower cards are strictly limited to one copy, when Shen Sui slotted Her into his build, he didn’t even consider constructing a deck specifically around Her.

No matter how powerful a card is, if it doesn’t have a stable and fast way to hit the field, it’s hard for it to play any role in a high-tempo duel.

Especially in Shen Sui’s duels—these followers that can only be obtained by drawing usually haven’t even shown up in his hand before the duel is already over.

That’s also why Shen Sui had rarely used Anna in previous duels.

He simply never expected that Antipus’s first appearance would happen under circumstances like these.

Mo Suo’s iron-head-brat behavior ended up triggering Antipus’s debut.

Shen Sui was deeply moved.

Since that’s the case, in gratitude to Mo Suo, he’d use Antipus to gift Mo Suo a duel it would remember for the rest of its life!

Staring at the spider-girl on Shen Sui’s field, Mo Suo’s spirit-beast instinct was screaming at it: Danger! Danger! Danger!

This spider-girl was a kind of powerful life-form far beyond its comprehension!

Slowly, an expression of fear surfaced on Mo Suo’s face.

Shen Sui completely ignored the fear on Mo Suo’s face and normally summoned the Golden Ship in his hand.

He activated Golden Ship’s effect to call the slacking Alice out of the deck to work overtime.

He paid Soul Points to transform Alice’s form into Destroyer of the Earth · Alice.

According to Destroyer of the Earth’s effect, Shen Sui directly blew away the field Mo Suo had just built up.

Seeing this, Mo Suo was instantly dumbfounded.

It had only seen something like this in its duel with An Hai.

Could this guy in front of it be a Life Card Master on the same level as An Hai?

Back then, it could rely on its own Extraordinary Power to launch a sneak attack on An Hai and cheat its way to victory, but that same trick had absolutely no effect on this bastard across from it!

Looking at Shen Sui, who was watching it with a mocking expression, Mo Suo felt a chill straight from the depths of its heart.

"Undo their seals," Shen Sui said. "I can give you a clean loss."

"Hmph!" Mo Suo glanced at its graveyard, still putting on a tough front. "If you’ve got the guts, come at me! In a Life Card Duel, nothing’s decided until the very end!"

Hearing that, Shen Sui actually nodded. "Interesting, interesting."

Mo Suo actually had a tiny bit of duelist spirit—though only a tiny bit.

Shen Sui suddenly felt like taking it back as a Spirit Pet again.

It wasn’t that he lacked combat personnel; he lacked a duel sparring partner.

Vivian and the others were indeed very cooperative with Shen Sui—but a bit too cooperative. Every time they trained, they’d keep "straying off-course."

Play a round of cards and they’d somehow go from the living room to the bedroom, from the kitchen to the bedroom, from the bedroom to another bedroom. So young and already Shen Sui felt like he needed to start focusing on health preservation.

If he kept doing duel training with them like this, Shen Sui felt his body wouldn’t be able to take it.

Although he didn’t really believe there were any cards in Mo Suo’s graveyard that could threaten him, out of a duelist’s caution, Shen Sui ultimately gave up on the plan of ending the duel directly by attacking this turn.

"I activate, on my field, the Permanent Spell Card Alice’s Dream Realm."

Shen Sui activated Alice’s Domain Card.

"I activate Dream Realm’s effect: once per turn, have Alice perform one additional Form Transformation."

Shen Sui pointed to the Alice on the field. "By effect, transform the Alice on the field into Hundred-Change Witch · Hozerville."

"I activate Hundred-Change Witch · Hozerville’s effect: I declare the Card Name of a follower card. If that card exists on either side’s field or in either graveyard, then she will copy that follower card’s effects and Spirit Value."

Shen Sui paused for a few seconds, then slowly said, "I declare Broken Boundary Empress · Antipus."

"My turn ends." Having done all that, Shen Sui decisively ended the turn.

Mo Suo clearly hadn’t realized how serious the situation was. Seeing Shen Sui end his turn, it laughed smugly. "You got bluffed by me! Hahahaha!"

There was nothing in its graveyard that could turn the tide.

But it did have something in its hand!

"My turn..." In Mo Suo’s heart, this turn was full of wonderful fantasies.

Yet at that moment, at the start-of-turn timing, Shen Sui’s voice slowly came: "At the start of your turn, since my banished zone has no cards, I can activate the effect of Broken Boundary Empress · Antipus on my field, abolish one zone in my Magic Area, and until the end of this turn, seal your hand zone."

With Antipus’s effect activated, Mo Suo’s hand instantly turned gray and white.

Mo Suo opened its mouth, took a deep breath: It’s fine, my graveyard still has...

"At the same time, I activate the copied effect from Hundred-Change Witch, abolish one zone in my Magic Area, and until the end of this turn, seal your graveyard zone."

Seeing its graveyard likewise turn gray and white, Mo Suo finally broke. "How can there be a card like this!"

"Uh... we’re not done yet." Shen Sui spoke again. "When Alice successfully resolves a card effect, I activate Alice’s Dream Realm’s effect: I can abolish one of Alice’s forms, and have the effect Alice just activated resolve again."

Alice’s Dream Realm’s effect is equivalent to storing the effect Alice used and re-activating it; it doesn’t target Alice herself. In practice, it really does bypass the Resistance of the Antipus effect that Alice had copied.

Hundred-Change Witch’s effect resolved again, and this time Shen Sui chose to seal Mo Suo’s Follower Area.

This time, Shen Sui didn’t even abolish another zone, because abolishing a zone is a cost, and Dream Realm is just making the effect resolve again.

After doing all this, Shen Sui waved at Mo Suo. "Alright, you can start your turn now."

Looking at the gray-and-white hand and graveyard, a surge of grievance welled up in Mo Suo’s heart.

Under that crushing sense of grievance, tears actually formed at the corners of its eyes. "You’ve already done all this—how am I supposed to play..."

It could still draw, but with its hand zone sealed, it couldn’t perform any operations at all.

"Can’t play?" Shen Sui tilted his head and spread his hands. "Then just don’t play!"

Saying that, he drew the card from his hand. "During the opponent’s Main Phase, I can tribute all followers on my field and Special Summon, from my hand, New-style Puppet: Unconventional Life Form."

Voluntary tribute is a special term in Life Card Duels; it refers to the operation of tributing followers to convert them into Soul Points.

And the tribute cost used for Special Summons naturally counts as non-voluntary tribute.

When Antipus is tributed in a non-voluntary way, all sealed zones on the opponent’s field are abolished until the end of the duel.

As Antipus was tributed, Mo Suo’s hand zone, graveyard zone, and Follower Area all entered a permanently abolished state.
