Chapter 237: Unexpected Arrival

When Nyxara and Velena saw him in this form, both felt their hearts race. He looked like an imposing Demon Lord — one who surpassed even Kharos himself in presence.

The three of them remained under Nova’s Void Veil, completely invisible as they observed the situation.

Many of the hybrids had already poured into the Colosseum, slaughtering citizens without mercy.

Royal guards, holy knights and members of the Twilight Order were desperately trying to save as many people as they could.

Nova’s gaze shifted toward the supreme leader of the Twilight Order — Darius.

He had not moved at all. Why is Maria still there?

A moment later, Nova saw that Liam had already been taken away by the royal guards. Yet Maria remained.

Then, before anyone could react, Darius suddenly stood up, grabbed Maria by the neck, and vanished. In the next instant, he reappeared in the sky beside Zeon.

The overwhelming auras of the Sovereign and the surrounding Emperors crashed down on Maria at once. Unable to even react, she immediately lost consciousness.

Vaorak and the others were stunned by Darius’s sudden actions.

"So this bastard was colluding with the Eclipse Order all along," Draeven said coldly. "Wasn’t it said that one of the Supreme Leaders was working with the Blood Moon Cult? Is there a connection between them?"

"Fuck... that bastard has captured the High Priestess!" Vaorak growled.

Despite their rage, Vaorak and the other powerhouses still did not move. If they released their full auras now, half the citizens in the capital would die instantly.

They were forced to wait for the formation masters, who were already rushing to prepare a massive protective formation around the city.

"Leave the High Priestess, you bastards!!"

"Let her go!!"

The Holy Knights began shouting furiously as they watched their High Priestess being held captive.

Nyxara turned toward Nova.

"Husband, I can go save her if you want. Even if I don’t particularly like her... she is still one of your acquaintances."

Nova shook his head slightly.

"No. Let’s wait. They won’t harm her for now. Think carefully — why would they specifically capture Maria?

"They’ve planned this from the beginning. Something still feels missing."

"It could also be that they want to kill her as revenge against the Human Emperor’s family," Velena added quietly.

"That could be it... and you’re right, we can’t take unnecessary risks. Let’s sa—"Before Nova could finish his sentence, a thunderous voice suddenly shook the entire capital.

An overwhelming aura crashed down from the sky, forcing nearly everyone to bend their knees — including Nova, Nyxara, and Velena.

"LET HER GO AT ONCE!"

Before the eyes of every living being present, a man appeared in the sky. He stood tall and imposing, with long flowing blonde hair and piercing golden eyes.

He wore an elegant yet adventurous royal attire that perfectly matched his status, and his handsome features were almost on the same level as Nova’s.

The aura surrounding him was absolute — the kind that made the air itself feel heavy. Nova’s eyes widened. This was the first time in his life he had witnessed a being of such a level.

Not only him — the entire continent was seeing this man after a very long time.

The mighty Human Emperor. The one who stood on equal footing with the Dragon Emperor.

"He’s here... Caelan Everhart, the Human Emperor," Velena muttered, her voice carrying a rare trace of tension.

This was a man who could instill fear in almost every demon short of the Demon Lords themselves.

"He’s finally here..." Vaorak exhaled quietly as he looked at the imposing figure in the sky. Caelan’s expression was ice-cold as his golden eyes locked onto Maria, who was still held in Darius’s grip.

Draeven, Lyra, and Aurora all felt that familiar, overwhelming aura once again. No matter how many times they experienced it, Caelan’s strength never failed to leave an impression.

Caelan’s voice rang out once more, filled with pure killing intent."You traitorous bastards... let my granddaughter go. Or I will destroy your souls within seconds."

Darius visibly gulped under that gaze. He knew the Human Emperor was not making an empty threat.

"NOT SO SOON, MY FRIEND!"

Another thunderous voice suddenly exploded across the sky.

The moment that voice sounded, Nyxara, Velena, and many other powerhouses recognized it immediately — if not by sound, then by the terrifying aura that followed.

A man appeared directly in front of Zeon and Darius.

Long crimson hair flowed behind him, and his crimson eyes were far more intimidating than even Nyxara’s.

He was extremely handsome, dressed in a black demonic royal outfit that radiated absolute authority. The aura he released was not the least bit weaker than Caelan’s.

"What the fuck... he’s here too?!" Draeven cursed as he stared at the strongest Demon Lord, who had just stepped out of a spatial rift to stand face-to-face with the Human Emperor.

Vaorak, Lyra, and Aurora shared the same reaction. The situation was growing more insane by the second.

"Father..." Nyxara muttered under her breath, her eyes filled with disbelief. What was he doing here? Since when had he begun allying with these bastards?

Velena was equally speechless. She had never expected to see a Demon Lord appear in the sky of the human capital out of nowhere.

Nova could barely remain standing under the combined pressure of the two absolute existences. He muttered to Liya:

"You sure this is only SSS-rank...?"

{Yes. It’s definitely SSS. But now you need to start thinking about how you’re going to do what you have to do.}

Nova understood Liya’s words. He already had a plan forming in his mind, but for now he would wait until the large-scale formation covering the entire capital was completed.

In the sky, Caelan’s expression did not change in the slightest as he spoke.

"Do you really want to do this, Kharos?"

His golden eyes remained cold.

"Should I consider this an invitation to war? If that is what you want, I will gladly oblige. This time, I will destroy the entire Abyss."

Kharos threw his head back and laughed.

"Hahahaha... You’re still as funny as ever, Caelan. Oh, I’m only here to take back my little girl. I heard someone brought her into this kingdom."

His crimson eyes narrowed slightly as he continued.

"But when I arrived, I saw an opportunity... a chance to take a little of my revenge as well. These nice people offered me an invitation to come along.

And you shouldn’t have contacted those people on your own, Caelan. You know the rules... yet you still did it."

Caelan’s voice remained steady.

"I don’t know anything about your daughter. And I don’t care about rules that were made thousands of years ago. It was them who contacted me."

Kharos sneered.

"Do you think I’m an idiot? They never did such a thing. And why do you think you’re so special?"

"Believe what you want," Caelan replied coldly. "I don’t care. If you want a fight, I’ll give you one. And you will soon face the full retaliation upon your kingdom."

Kharos’s grin widened.

"The fact that you’re doing this shit one month before the secret realm opens... you really are insane, you demon bastard." Caelan added.

On the royal platform, Draeven frowned. "What the fuck are those two talking about?"

Vaorak shook his head.

"Beats me. They’re speaking like they’re in some kind of code. What rules? What contact?"

Aurora and Lyra were equally clueless, though Aurora quietly felt that her brother must know something about it.

Below, Nyxara was about to move when Nova firmly held her hand back.

"Wait. This is not the right time." In the sky, Caelan’s voice rang out once more, this time carrying clear authority.

"Vaorak. Draeven. Strengthen the formation."

Both powerhouses immediately moved. They understood the gravity of the situation better than anyone.

Even though Vaorak himself was an Emperor, he was still weaker than Caelan. In this world, titles and positions existed only to maintain balance — in the end, strength was the only true law.
