As he was fighting, Arthur read the description of the weapon and he could only be surprised by what he was seeing. The first odd detail was naturally the name. ‘Elemental Oblivion’ was a rather eerie name for a sword. However, Arthur assumed since it had the word ‘Elemental’ in it then the sword was definitely not just a piece of iron and had magic based abilities.

That alone put Arthur at ease since it completely negated the possibility of his feelings being wrong. However, the next set of information raised multiple questions in his head. To begin with, this was the first time Arthur had seen an item in the game that had no rank at all.

‘This means that it’s either too strong to be ranked or it is locked.’ Arthur thought to himself as he dodged another attack. ‘I would say it’s the latter since the damage is also locked and the special ability is the same.’

All the information he had to deal with was the description and it was as mysterious as ever, giving him no insight into the sword other than the fact that it’s a sword. That meant one single thing, Arthur had to actually try the sword on the spot and see what it could do.

Lamenter immediately felt something weird after hearing those words. It was as if the entire atmosphere of the battle shifted in a split second and all of that came from one single thing. Looking down, he noticed that Arthur’s weird sword had started emitting a faint light.

The boy channeled an immense amount of mana through the sword as he infused it with power. The weapon didn’t take long to react to that pure mana. The dull blade changed in color slowly from grey to a deep, beautiful blue.

Then, Arthur started hearing the sound of some small cracks. Looking down, he saw that the Tachi was forming ice around its blade.

At the same time, the handle of the sword shifted on its own. In a matter of seconds, Elemental Oblivion looked completely different from before. The sword now appeared akin to a terrifying ice sword with a thick icey aura around it.

‘Wow… I just infused it with mana…’ Arthur thought to himself. He could feel the immense strength pulsating through the sword with each passing second. It felt overwhelmingly strong, far stronger than his previous sword. Arthur felt as if he could cut through anything with this weapon, that was how powerful it was. The boy’s eyes twinkled with excitement.

‘This sword…’

Slowly, his gaze shifted up. He eyed Lamenter silently before he took a fighting stance. ‘You’re unlucky that you’re the first target I’m going to try this on.’

Activating ‘Lonesome Warrior’s Howl’ Arthur boosted his stats even more as he dashed forward.

‘He’s coming.’ Lamenter gripped his spear as he charged at his opponent. The two closed the distance and clashed violently. Arthur swung his sword with immense force.

The sword screeched as it cut through the air sharply. The ice coiling around its blade shifted again.

*BOOOOOM*

“AGH!” Lamenter groaned as he was blasted back a few dozen feet, landing on his back. The hit took a good chunk of his health down.

‘What?’ He lifted his head up in shock, only to see a terrifying sight.

The spot where they clashed was now covered in ice with a large ice spike protruding from the ground. It was at least twice his size and as thick as two people. The shape of the spike was that of an arc, very similar to the way Arthur swung the sword, which meant one simple thing. Arthur’s sword had created that.

‘What kind of sword is that? I almost died with a single hit. That spike didn’t hit me in a vital spot.’ He frowned as he saw Arthur appear out of the ice with his sword next to his hip.

“Stand up,” Arthur said coldly.

“…” Lamenter clenched his teeth slightly. He could hear the deep mockery in Arthur’s tone. What was even more humiliating was the fact that Arthur could’ve easily attacked him when he fell to the ground, but he instead decided to wait for him to stand up and pick up his spear.

Still, the young man did that and dusted his clothes. ‘He’s now going to fight seriously. I need to pic-‘

Before the thought could even finish forming in his head, Arthur’s sword was already slashing down, aiming to split him in half.

‘Faster!!’ Lamenter’s eyes widened as he quickly tried to dodge, only for the ice slash to hit him square in the chest.

“AGH!!”

Then, Arthur dashed toward him at top speed and stabbed forward, creating a large ice spear that almost carved a hole through Lamenter’s stomach. The latter desperately dodged the attack as he held the gruesome injury on his chest.

‘Dammit… Why is he so much faster? Was he completely toying with me? ‘ Lamenter cursed inwardly. The sudden shift in the situation wasn’t expected at all. He knew that Arthur wasn’t using 100% of his power but this difference was crushing.

On top of that, this new ability he was using was terrifyingly powerful. Each swing and stab, the sword would create large ice chunks that deal devastating damage. With three swings, Arthur carved ice into the dirt ground as if it were nothing.

Lamenter couldn’t deflect any of these hits as they come in two rounds. If he can deflect one then he surely can’t deflect the second and if the first one misses then the second one is even more deadly.

So, his only option was to run for his life. Turning around, he dashed to the side while Arthur chased after him.

‘A change of plan. I can’t do this for long.’ Lamenter cursed as he channeled his mana.

“Waves of damnation.” Muttering those words, his eyes flashed with a weird glint as he swung his spear. Immediately, a large amount of water gushed out of the spear, quickly sweeping through the ground as it attacked Arthur in the form of large waves.

The latter snorted as he stabbed his sword into the waves of water, instantly turning them into ice.

‘This ice is dangerous.’

*Swish*

The tides of battle shifted in an instant.

Meanwhile, outside, the crowd had already doubled in size as people heard about the battle. Everyone was watching the show with intense eyes. They made gasps of shock with each event.

“This is brutal…”

“How are they this strong…”

“That ice… It’s forming everywhere.”

“They’re moving too fast!”

In their eyes, all they could see was large waves of water and ice clashing everywhere across the battlefield. The sword and the spear were emitting similar lights, but the sword was far brighter and far more dangerous.
