My Sniper System in a Zombie Apocalypse World

Chapter 150: Special Agents

Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Special Agents

From where Jaxon sat, he watched them closely as they drew nearer to the city. Their movements were calm and steady, not even slowing down.

“Mom, stop the car.”

Isabel slowed to a halt. Jaxon kept his eyes on the city, weighing their options in silence. After a moment, he exhaled. “We stick to the plan. We go in after them.”

Natasha and the others nodded without hesitation. Whatever he decided, they were already prepared to follow through.

One by one, they stepped out of the car, carrying only what they needed. Guns, spare knives, and a few smoke bombs strapped to their belts.

Jaxon moved towards the back of the Hilux. With a thought, items began to appear out of thin air. Boxes of food, medical kits, clothes, and various supplies stacked up quickly.

He stacked them neatly in and around the vehicle, quickly filling the space. There was so much that some had to be left just outside.

It was nearly everything he had stored, close to nine cubic meters of supplies.

When he finished, only the essentials remained in his storage: guns, ammunition, flashlights, a few medical kits, and enough food for a few days.

The girls stared at the pile in silence, completely stunned. The amount of supplies in front of them could last for years, decades even, if rationed carefully.

“You’re basically a walking warehouse, Brother,” Cindy said, giggling.

“I don’t even know why you still want more,” Isabel added, shaking her head.

Jaxon simply shrugged. “We can never have too much.”

“It increased in capacity,” Natasha said as she looked over the pile of supplies. “I thought you could only store three cubic meters.”

“It grows as I grow,” Jaxon replied simply.

That earned him a few surprised looks. No matter how many times they saw it, his ability still felt unreal.

Na-rin tilted her head slightly. “Can it grow forever?”

Jaxon shook his head. “I don’t know… maybe. But for now, we’ll come back for these later.” He paused, then added, “I’ve got about nine cubic meters free. Once we’re inside the city, we take anything valuable we can find.”

He then turned to Natasha. “Can you locate the nearest gas station inside the city?”

Natasha checked her phone, then shook her head. “No signal. I can’t pull up anything.”

(150 coins spent. Recon Drone successfully purchased.) The notification appeared in Jaxon’s mind.

A compact drone appeared in his hand then passed it to her. “Will this work?”

Natasha took it and gave a short nod. “Yeah… this is more than enough.”

She powered it right away. The drone lifted into the air with a soft hum and flew toward the city. Natasha focused, guiding it as she searched for key locations like gas stations and malls where they could gather supplies.

The group waited quietly.

Jaxon, meanwhile, gripped his DMR, the familiar weight steady in his hands. He had decided to use it this time. Isabel would take the M16, while the others stuck with their pistols.

He raised the rifle and looked through the scope. In the distance, he spotted the five agents already reaching the edge of the city.

’What are they after?’ The thought crossed his mind, but he let it go just as quickly. Whatever their reason was, it didn’t matter. They had their own objective.

…..

On the other side, Cade and his team finally stepped into the quiet city.

“Kael,” Cade called softly.

The hooded, masked figure moved at once.

“Scanning ahead,” Kael murmured, pulling a compact drone from his pack and slipped on a sleek pair of single-lens glasses. The right lens flickered to life as the drone powered up and rose into the air.

The drone’s rotors were near-silent, made from specialized composites, allowing it to move almost unnoticed.

From above, the drone drifted forward, gliding over empty roads and broken structures.

Through the lens, Kael’s right eye followed the drone’s view. Faint outlines of barricades, blocked paths, and possible movement points appeared clearly. At the same time, his left eye stayed on the street ahead.

Despite juggling two perspectives, Kael moved forward as if it was natural, leading the team through the silent streets.

He weaved between abandoned vehicles and debris, silently marking potential threats, calculating safe paths for the squad, and relaying precise hand signals to Cade.

The squad moved with perfect silence, threading deeper into the city. Kael’s guidance kept them safe, and not a single infected crossed their path.

But Cade couldn’t ignore the eerie stillness, the city was unnervingly quiet. According to the reports, tens of thousands of infected should have been swarming the streets by now.

“Cassian, get eyes from heaven,” Cade ordered quietly.

“On it,” Cassian replied. He broke from the group with practiced ease, moving toward the side of a nearby building and climbing the access ladder to the rooftop.

A few minutes later, he reached the top of the ten-story building. Surveying the streets below, he muttered, “That’s a good spot,” before lowering himself into a prone position with his tech sniper rifle.

“On position, Captain. No infected in sight within a three hundred meter radius,” Cassian reported through the comms.

“Report immediately if you spot anything,” Cade replied, turning to the three members at his side.

“Spread out. I’ll move to mid. Raya, take left. Lyra and Kael, you go right.” he instructed, his voice calm but commanding.

The squad acknowledged silently. Each slung a heavy tactical pack over their shoulders and dispersed carefully through the empty streets.

Raya moved with precise, silent steps, her athletic frame blending with the shadows of the narrow alleyways.

She reached her designated spot, crouched low, and carefully set down her heavy backpack. From it, she retrieved a compact, high-tech bomb, planting it carefully and double-checking the locking mechanism.

Through the comms, her calm, confident voice came through. “Bomb has been planted.”

“Copy that,” Cade replied sharply. He knelt a few meters away and quickly deployed the device he carried, securing it with practiced efficiency.

Kael moved to a higher vantage point, planting his device on a rooftop access panel while his drone hovered above, giving him exact coordinates.

Lyra followed silently, planting her bomb at a secondary choke point, ensuring all angles were covered.

The squad straightened, eyes sharp, scanning the streets around them. “Positions locked. Move out,” Cade whispered, and they melted into the darkness.
