Chapter 639: Chapter 341: Human, Remove Your Disguise! (3)
"Good!"
....
Half an hour later.
Rock Oven Tavern.
Through the tavern window, a squadron of Griffins was seen flying out of the Imperial Palace. The sharp gaze of a sturdy red-haired man paused briefly on the young human male at their head, and he immediately revealed a smile.
He set down his cup and quickly rose to leave.
A quarter of an hour later.
Having already left the Iron Hills some distance behind and flying at high speed in the sky, Raine suddenly frowned and slowed his Griffin to a halt.
"Mr. Rein, what’s wrong?"
The Dwarf Elders behind him also reduced speed and came to a stop.
"I keep feeling like something’s watching us."
"Really?"
Elder Grenum and Elder Dinita beside him exchanged a glance, both somewhat surprised.
But they had great faith in Raine’s strength, so they immediately began looking around.
"I feel it too."
The Drow Elf Ilgerina also gave a slight nod after hearing Raine’s words.
Raine likewise swept his gaze around, then couldn’t help but look up at a white cloud higher in the sky, thoughtful.
"Let’s land."
That was all he said.
Everyone’s expression grew solemn, but none of them questioned him. They all followed him in a dive, landing on the hills below.
They had just touched down when the Griffins all began to shiver, crouch low, and let out uneasy, low cries.
"It’s here!"
Raine narrowed his eyes slightly, looking up at the sky.
The others also raised their heads in astonishment.
They saw a small red bird shoot out from the clouds high above, diving toward their position. Strangely, its body was rapidly growing larger!
Yes, its body!
The small red bird radiated a glow like Flame, and its size quickly increased from a small bird to medium, to large, to enormous... until, with a resounding dragon roar!
A colossal, ferocious dragon covered in red scales appeared before their eyes.
"A Red Dragon!"
"With a body this huge, this is... this is an Elder-level Red Dragon!"
"Mm, if I’m not mistaken, this is ’Blazing Meteor’, Klaus, one of the strongest Red Dragons in the Northern Lands." Elder Wenna said in a low voice.
She then turned to Raine and asked, "Mr. Rein, shall we avoid it?"
"We can split up. As for you, you can Teleport straight back to the Imperial Palace. With His Majesty there, the other side won’t dare directly strike at the Iron Hills."
"No. We were planning to hunt dragons anyway. Since the other side is so eager to deliver itself to our door, why should we avoid it?" Raine stared at the Red Dragon in the sky that was plummeting down like a blazing red meteor, and calmly shook his head slightly.
In truth, Raine had another consideration.
By now he was certain this Red Dragon was coming for him, because after its huge dragon eyes swept over the others, they locked firmly onto him.
He also very much wanted to know why it was here.
Was it because he had slain Aisores?
Or was the Red Dragon Kala Zox he killed one of its descendants?
Klaus spread a pair of enormous flesh wings covered in red scales just before reaching the ground. With a powerful flap in midair, he hovered there, his ferocious dragon head lowered to overlook Raine and the Dwarf Elders.
"Human, remove your disguise and show your true appearance and form!"
The voice boomed like thunder, rumbling from the chest of the Elder Red Dragon Klaus.
True appearance?
Not only did the words leave Raine somewhat stunned, the Dwarf Elders beside him also looked at each other in confusion.
