“-and this is the initial draft I had for the pensions in regards to any government workers dying or being seriously injured going forwards, with three separate plans that they can opt into. One for short term payouts, one for long term ’lower’ payments, and a mixed plan that is the best of both worlds.”

Handing the thin folder to Jahi, I moved on to the second folder that was filled with even more papers, though these were in regards to the development for the defenses of the city going forwards and the estimated costs, both up front and down the line.

My wife chuckled softly as she took that folder as well, adding it to the pile of paperwork in her arms that I had carefully drafted up and organized during these last few hours where I had uninterrupted time to work.

“You are an impeccable secretary~! As your boss I can’t help but feel that I am required to give you something nice as a bonus, but for the life of me I can’t seem to think of something that would demonstrate my appreciation appropriately…”

“I would say a nice bottle of wine, some candles and a basket of various finger foods before we make love beneath the moonlight, but without the wine it wouldn’t feel right.”

The Demoness chuckled again and leaned against my desk, staring out the window and appreciating the view from my office while I began another bit of work, deciding to make the most of my wives not being home.

Funny how I managed to get more work done in their absence than when they decided to come into my office to offer their ’help’; funnily enough Leone was by far the most egregious when it came to interrupting me, something that I found really amusing since she was also the one who had the most to offer when it came to helping with my work.

Anput was obvious with her desires, Jahi tended to toe the line with offering help and wanting to offer ’help’ to me, but Leone could barely hold herself back whenever she came into my office, her eyes betraying her every single time as she would take a seat, stare straight at my breasts and then immediately come over and ’harass’ me.

“Then perhaps a nice, beautiful~ dress for my lovely secretary would do well~? Or maybe I should go for something a little more… extravagant? You do have a lack of jewelry in your wardrobe, my dear, so perhaps some rings or bracelets would do nicely~?”

“Wouldn’t this fall under some sort of workplace harassment? I am trying to work, ’Miss’ Asmodia, and currently…”

Again she chuckled, her eyes not leaving the window as she just replied “Perhaps, but that’s the fun part of the business being one operated entirely by ’family’, correct? I can harass my wife however I please since it is within my right~!”, causing me to roll my eyes as I started scanning over another paper.

“Give me a rundown of the defense ideas you had, with personal opinions included. Budget be damned.”

Taking a breath, I set the paper down and thought it over for a moment before saying “The ideal decision would be to replace the material in the walls with something stronger, construct towers all along the walls that are outfitted with both armories and ballista, and begin production of enchanted arms and armor to fill said armories.”

“That would take a long time to do, and we would run the risk of people attempting to steal the weapons and armor to potentially make a quick bit of coin somewhere else. The towers are something we are doing no matter what though…”

“Use locks on the armories that only trusted individuals would have access to. As for the ballista, I would recommend stocking up on enchanted bolts at the very least, but we also need to make sure they are both well maintained and well defended.”

Humming quietly to herself, the Demoness tapped her fingers against the folders before murmuring “I do wonder how much the training costs would be to get everyone to an acceptable level with both the ballista as well as bows…”, which was something that would need a lot of calculation and planning.

“Was there something else that you needed or can I get back to work? You wanted a material cost for the mausoleum as well as an updated map of the city, both of which are going to take a decent amount of time.”

With a smirk Jahi glanced back at me and asked “What if I wanted to simply admire my woman as she worked hard for me, hm~? Are you going to chase me out~? Tell me that you don’t want me here~?”, to which I just gave her a brief glare.

Returning to my papers, I started piecing together the cost for the mausoleum and grimaced slightly as the numbers only continued to climb into a somewhat egregious amount, though that was only coming from me personally thinking about spending this money.

I had yet to do the – very much not wanted but needed – talk with Satanya in regards to where the remains of the Demons would go in the upcoming years, because if they were to be laid to rest here in their new ’home’ then the Clans could afford to fork over a little coin for this too.

“Or you could just ignore me, though that just means I can go ahead and sit here, look over your work and decide whether or not you need to do some… ’overtime’…”

The way she smirked at me and how she comfortably lounged in the chair opposite me made me roll my eyes again, though just like with Anput and Leone I didn’t tell her off nor did I mind how she eventually moved to my side of the desk with very clear intentions, which I wasn’t against reciprocating.
