Chapter 1568: Chapter 1567: Life Is… Different

“I… Oh, maybe we need to stop these midday flings…”

Rubbing at my hip and groaning softly, I sat up and immediately grimaced as I felt just how… lethargic, how stiff everything had become; it was weird because moving nowadays always felt so fluid and graceful, yet… well, I suppose things change when you’re pregnant, don’t they?

The curve of my belly and the weights attached to my torso simply ensured that I felt sluggish, and not being able to actually move around like I had before made me somewhat anxious and very, very concerned.

Being ’robbed’ of something as basic as being able to sit up without groaning was weird after so long of near perfect control over myself, though as I rested a hand atop my stomach I had to admit that this was a worthy tradeoff for what was happening.

The moment I had groaned my three wives all shot up and rushed to my side, pampering me endlessly and making me giggle as I was smothered in kisses, helping hands and an abundance of love that had become so… normal for me these days.

Thinking about how it hadn’t technically been that long ago that I had only just managed to acquire such warm, blanketing love made me endlessly grateful for everything, and thinking about how said love was now swirling around in my womb in the form of multiple pups was definitely a way for me to ease the concerns somewhat.

“Alright, alright~! I just haven’t gotten used to this is all, okay? Nothing happened, so..!”

Playfully swatting away Anput’s ever roaming hand, I pointed at the Jackalkin in warning before moaning softly as Leone slid her hand between my thighs, surprising us all as the Vampire took a more direct route compared to usual.

Having all of our gazes on her made her blush, though it didn’t stop her from giving me a pleading look with that adorable pout as she showed off the monster she had between her legs, which I was about to help ease only to giggle again as Anput leapt onto it happily.

Leaving them be, I welcomed the strong arms of my Demoness and sank back into her chest as we watched the two make love, and after a few moments of that she leaned down and murmured “Self pitying and self doubt was my role, was it not?”, causing me to giggle again as I nodded.

“The difference is you were doing so idiotically, whereas I have a very valid reason… or at least I thought I did. I see now just how wrong I was…”

“Good. Going forwards, I definitely have to make sure the three of you understand that this… this is a gift beyond measure, something to be celebrated forever and never once thought of as something negative. This…”

She trailed off while cradling my stomach gently, making me arch myself into her slightly as I enjoyed how her hands felt on that swollen part of me, especially when she got the hint from the Soul Bond to gently hold it from bellow.

“This is everything that I wanted, Kat, from you and from them. So please, don’t ever think that you aren’t ’good’ enough for us. Though… about no more midday ’flings’ as you called them…”

Considering how stiff she was against me, I couldn’t do anything more than chuckle and welcome her back inside with a grin as we made love once more, my desires swelling with my belly to new heights… though the inability to get it as rough as before was just such a damn tease…

It was odd how things could change so much in one aspect of our lives yet remain the same in others; the overall routine continued to meander forwards at the same relaxed pace as always, and there was never a lack of something that needed our attention, but when it came to our lives in the house…

Everything was different.

When I was making a meal Leone was always right there beside me, shadowing me carefully and doing her best to both help me with the food as well as take care of me in case something happened, ensuring I was never ’alone’.

Our meals were arranged around a strict goal that Kavya and the other doctors told us to hit, forcing me to cook things in a new way or cook new things altogether, which was honestly quite fun even if the idea of having another soup or something greasy sometimes made my stomach churn a little.

My office was still my ’safe’ space where no one else intruded without asking, yet someone was always on the other side of the door waiting just in case, while my various other activities also always had someone present.

At first I had to ask why I was the one being treated like a Princess whilst Anput sauntered around unhindered, only to be promptly reminded that the Jackalkin wasn’t having ’normal’ pups, meaning her pregnancy was a ’proper’ pregnancy.

Where I was already beginning to look like I had a whole melon in my belly my mate just had a simple curve that suggested she either was pregnant… or she ate just a little bit too much, which felt a little unfair as of now.

Especially whenever I remembered the difference in quantity that we were carrying… that really made me mad sometimes whenever I saw her frolicking about in the yard, enjoying herself immensely.

Still, the days melted into a wonderful collage of normalcy as we continued to work, love and live to the best of our abilities, continuing to manage an entire city that was growing at a rather incredible rate as if nothing at all was happening here in our home.

All in all life felt like it was getting really good, so of course there was a curveball coming our way immediately just to make sure we all really understood that the world worked in mysterious ways to ensure everything was completely and utterly balanced.
