Chapter 1553: Chapter 1552: Brief Interruption

Leone PoV

Curling up in the chair beside the window, I stared out over the moonlit city and lost myself to thought, enjoying the momentary peace before smiling softly as someone came to ruin it almost immediately after I began to savor it.

That person was of course Anput, and where a few weeks ago I would have been genuinely irritated by her suddenly jumping onto my lap while I was deep in thought that same irritation simply couldn’t take me like it used to.

Not when I could smell this faint, barely noticeable hint of something else on this Jackalkin, something that was unmistakably… us; Mother had told me recently that the smell was going to get stronger and that it was something only races so closely attuned to blood could smell, so most likely it was just me who could notice it.

Honestly that was ’good’ since the warm, slightly sweet scent was so addicting, and those faint hints of it wafting off of Anput’s neck always had my fangs itching the same way that Kat’s scent always made me feel.

“Heya beautiful~! What’s got you so~ deep in thought, hmm~?”

Rubbing her cheek against my shoulder and grinning at me, Anput made me chuckle even as her closeness and very hands on affection caused me to blush quite a bit; when she leaned in and whispered “How’s my baby Mommy doing, hmm~?” I blushed even more, especially when she began to move her hips in that specific way that always got the blood flowing ’correctly’.

“Just thinking and enjoying the quiet…”

“Is that so~? Well, it is~ nice and quiet since our two wives and their parents are currently away, but… I was thinking, instead of being all pretty and quiet down here, how about you make your way back upstairs and I’ll put that new lingerie on and see if you can keep quiet, hmm~?”

Anput was whispering into my neck as she sat on my lap, and while I so desperately wanted to take her up on that we were sadly interrupted by Mother as she walked into the common area with a glass of wine and a twinkle in her eye.

“I hope I’m not interrupting anything..?”

Resting her head on my shoulder and looking towards my Mother, Anput shrugged and bluntly replied “You did, but that’s fine. Has it been a nice stay so far, Miss Lorelei?” which made Mother raise a brow before she chuckled softly.

“It is always refreshing how people from the Sultanate care little for the ’niceties’ of conversation. It definitely is difficult to get accustomed to after so long of being in a court, but it is nice.”

The Jackalkin just nodded and continued to lounge on my lap as she enjoyed this quiet, relaxing night, though now that my Mother was here her hips had stopped moving, which I was grateful for yet also kind of sad that she had stopped…

“I don’t want to interrupt too much, but this feels… needed. Neither of you are actually that accustomed to what being with a Vampire means, so I figured that I should go ahead and tell you. For you, dear, the likelihood of that baby being a Vampire is… well, now it is quite high thanks to what Leone told me.

You might not like this that much, but during the later stages of your pregnancy you might end up finding a craving for blood, which is when Leone is going to need to start mixing a little of her own with tea or something to alleviate that craving. It’s crucial, so no matter how disgusting you might find it, you need to do it.

As for you, Leone, make sure to give her a fair amount of supplements after you feed on her, alright? Because you will find yourself craving her blood as well, but obviously you cannot take a lot from her. Just to be safe I’ll have a few bundles of blood replenishing herbs as well as a few that thicken it too.”

I nodded, taking in everything Mother said seriously before blushing hard as Anput giggled before saying “I’ll do anything~ that has to do with my beautiful Vampire wife getting thicker~!”, which mad Mother raise a brow even as she masked her smile.

“It would be your blood being thickened…”

“You mean I~ would be the one getting thicker~? Sign me up~!”

Chuckling softly, Mother’s control over her expression faded as she gave Anput a smile before she stood back up and said “Then I’ll leave you two to it, I suppose. Have a good night, dears.”, to which Anput said “Good night, Miss Lorelei~!” while rubbing her cheek against mine.

We watched Mother linger for a brief moment before departing to give us privacy once again, and while I thought Anput would immediately return to being handsy and flirtatious my Jackalkin lover instead slipped off of my lap and whispered “Upstairs, now. I don’t want to be interrupted…”

That easy smile and unbothered attitude was what I loved so much about my unexpected wife, and having her constantly act so unfettered was extremely alluring to me, even more so when she took the lead and left me with no other option other than following her directive.

It was especially interesting and arousing to see her simply wave off her own Mother when we passed her on the stairs, and even after I gave the older Dogkin a bow to apologize Anput just told me to hurry up.

When I stepped into our bedroom though the Jackalkin just disappeared into her closet, her voice echoing through the room as she told me to get undressed and just wait for her, though that felt a little bit too… greedy for me.

I wasn’t able to just take and not give anything in return, so while she took the time to get really pretty for me I changed into something a bit nicer before lounging on the bed, my heart racing as I wondered what it was that she was going to have on.

I only knew that she had something new, not what it looked like, so I was very curious to see my wife would come out in… and I certainly wasn’t disappointed, nor was she.
