My Seed Gives Systems In The Apocalypse
Chapter 190: Funny How I Am Going To Do Opposite...
"Oh, hey Fredrinn! Good morning!"
The unscared, completely chill and casual person was obviously Sophia.
She stood amid the rubble and floating plaster dust as if she were greeting an old friend at a coffee shop on a bright Sunday morning.
She was the only one in the entire crowded corridor who didn’t feel a single scent of worry.
Smiling cheerfully, she gave a light, enthusiastic wave of her hand toward Fredrinn.
The movement made her gorgeous and perfectly sized tits sway a little beneath her clothes, drawing the eyes of every guy in the hallway before their self-preservation kicked back in.
Fredrinn’s eyelids twitched at the sight, realization dawning upon him as he glanced at the gathering of the people.
He lifted his head toward the tall hallway windows. The bright, warm glow of midday sunlight was already seeping through the cracked glass and dirty curtains, casting long golden rectangles across the gore-stained carpet.
It was glaringly obvious that they had heavily overslept, and everything that was happening right now was a direct result of it.
Given what had unfolded behind the closed doors of Room 308, it wasn’t surprising at all.
After the entire night’s heavy ’excercise’, this was easily the best sleep he had gotten since returning to Earth... Correction: The best night’s sleep he had gotten in his entire life!
It was soothing and devoid of distractions... No dream, no nightmares... Just the warm blanket of his lovely women embracing him as a comforting cuddle.
However, no matter how understanding he was feeling about their friends’ impatience, there was no way that he wasn’t also thoroughly annoyed.
Nobody liked being ripped out of deep sleep by an explosion. His dark eyes swept over the powdered cement, the loose bricks, and the jagged chunks of broken wall strewn across the floor.
He glanced right into the luxury bathroom that was now visible through a fist-sized hole, where expensive shattered tiles lay in a messy heap.
And... if even Fredrinn was feeling annoyed, there wasn’t a need to mention Rose...
She was fuming.
Her fury multiplied tenfold after noticing the carefree, blissfully casual look on Sophia’s face.
It was blindingly obvious that this green-haired beauty was the sole cause of the violent disturbance, yet she still dared to stand there acting so brazen and cheerful.
"Good morning, huh?" Rose whispered in a low tone, her murderous, shining pink eyes locking onto Sophia.
Before anyone knew it, Rose disappeared from her position.
The burst of speed was so violent that the floor beneath her boots creaked. No one in the corridor even noticed her moving, except for the higher-stat awakeners and the perceptive duo of the sisters.
Rhea gasped in shock and surprise, her heart jumping straight to her throat as she instinctively took several rapid steps backward alongside Naomi and Vivienne.
The three girls quickly scrambled as far to the side of the hallway as they could.
There were several rotting zombie corpses scattered across the floor in that corner, and the stench of decay was nauseatingly strong, but at least the rotten corpses weren’t actively deadly like the charging demoness.
Even if it was, they would rather deal with the undeads than deal with an angry Rose...
Right in front of their wide eyes, Rose had seemingly teleported straight toward Sophia.
Her razor-sharp, obsidian-black claws slashed downward in a vicious arc, carrying every intention to sever the woman’s head from her shoulders—or at the very least tear apart whatever limb moved to protect her.
Thick, protective wooden bark began to rapidly cover her forearm as Sophia’s eyes widened in genuine surprise.
She clearly had not expected such an immediate, explosive burst of raw aggression and ungodly speed from the demon girl.
Just a split second before Rose’s claws connected with her arm, the protective layer over her skin was completed.
The natural armor turned her hands and forearms dark brown, rugged, and cracked like ancient oak.
But... that wasn’t enough. Not even close.
SCREEECH!
A sound like tearing metal echoed down the enclosed hall. Rose’s sharp, lethal claws ripped violently through the hardened bark, tearing deep gouges through the magical armor.
Several thick splinters of wood flew off to the side, tumbling through the air before dissolving into soft, pulsating motes of greenish-blue mana.
A line of fresh blood seeped out from the deep cracks on the bark, drenching the dark wood in a brilliant shade of crimson.
Just like that, the goofy, casual smile was wiped cleanly from Sophia’s face.
"Sis!" Carmen was shocked, shouting out in genuine worry from behind her straw sunhat.
She hadn’t expected Rose to actually succeed in harming her sister so effortlessly. Although Sophia had been caught off guard by the initial lunge, Carmen knew that her sister’s awakened skills were intensely defensive in nature.
Up on the upper levels, not even the terrifying tier 4 zombies had been able to crack through that reinforced wooden bark.
"Stay back," Sophia uttered calmly and seriously, not taking her eyes off Rose for even a microsecond. Her silly playfulness was completely gone, replaced by the icy focus of a high-tier combatant.
Carmen didn’t try to disobey or retort against her either, completely dropping her snappy, sarcastic little-sister persona.
"Rose... Calm down..." Fredrinn sighed from the doorway, leaning against the broken frame with his broken sword resting loosely in his hand.
He didn’t really wish to see Rose brutally butcher or maim the quirky, playful Sophia in the middle of this hotel and in front of the gathering of these humans.
There were civilians down there, and Rose harming another human wouldn’t be a good look for her.
He didn’t have the slightest doubt that Rose would emerge victorious if this escalated into an all-out brawl, no matter how strong or unique Sophia’s botanical powers might be.
Rose slowly lowered her hand, a thin, cruel smirk curling her lips.
"Hubby... I am calm," she said.
Her voice sounded genuinely smooth, soft, and soothing, but to Fredrinn’s trained ears, that was a massive problem on its own.
The main issue was that Rose didn’t speak in her usual third person. She had said I am calm, not Rose is calm.
Whenever she dropped her cute, eccentric persona and reverted to normal speech, it meant her demonic instincts were taking over completely.
However, she didn’t bother explaining her conversational habits to the crowd.
Rose lifted her hand to her lips and casually licked a drop of Sophia’s blood off the tip of her black claws, staring at the green-haired girl with a menacing, predatory gaze.
"Sophia, was it?" she hummed with a soft, venomous smile. "I will show you what a good morning really feels like."
Sophia didn’t shy away from the lethal challenge in the slightest. The injured bark around her forearms surged with bright mana, rapidly healing the claw marks before swelling thicker than before.
The wood overgrown along her arms twisted into knotted branches, hardening until it looked like dense ironwood.
A cold, competitive smirk touched Sophia’s lips as she raised her fists into a combat stance.
"Funny how I am going to do the exact opposite... I will show you what a bad morning looks like, Rose."
