My Sect Leader is the Greatest
Chapter 140 - 131: Electing the Daoist Leader!
Chapter 140: Chapter 131: Electing the Daoist Leader!
Jade Capital Temple, which previously belonged to Jade Emperor Mountain, was now tacitly acknowledged as the territory of Dao Yi Mountain.
At the entrance of the temple, if any Martial Artists were present, they would undoubtedly be shocked by the Moo Mings. They would see that the several elderly men waiting at the door were actually four old Daoists of the Great Innate Level.
Moreover, one of the old Daoists stood eight feet tall with a long beard that flowed past his chest. He bore the emblem of the Black Tortoise on his back. He was none other than Jiang Chengzi, the True Martial Sect Leader—one of the orthodox branches of the Daoist Sect. Accompanying him were three highly respected True Martial Elders from Emperor’s Descent Peak. Their Daoist names were Tengxuan, Jingxu, and Chonghe.
Under normal circumstances, four Great Innates appearing together in one place would be enough to cause a sensation akin to an avalanche or tsunami. But now, they were unexpectedly denied entry and left standing outside.
However, this wasn’t even the most unbearable part for Jiang Chengzi. If it had only been the True Martial Dao Sect waiting outside, he could have accepted it. After all, Dao Yi’s young Sect Leader had displayed boundless prestige just yesterday. Out of the four Grand Celestial Masters of Jade Emperor Mountain—a faction whose foundation and heritage were no lesser than their own—he had killed two and crippled the other two. He had practically severed the destiny of a Great Daoist Sect in half.
Because of this, no matter how uncomfortable they felt, they had to endure it. Despite the True Martial Sect boasting six Great Innates, they didn’t have a single person ranked among the world’s top ten. Therefore, relying merely on a high number of Innate experts to oppose Chen Sha would yield them absolutely no advantage.
But what Jiang Chengzi found truly intolerable was his current grievance. He thought, "Why do I have to wait at the door for so long without you even coming out, but the moment the Queen Mother Sect arrives, you, Chen Sha, immediately step out to welcome them?"
Jiang Chengzi watched with a look of extreme discomfort. Bi Yunxiao had just arrived at the entrance not long ago when the doors of the Daoist Temple opened on their own. Out walked a remarkably talented, exceptionally handsome young Daoist.
Chen Sha recognized Queen Mother Sect Leader Bi Yunxiao at a glance. After all, she was easy to identify since she was the only female cultivator outside the door.
"Elder Bi has graced us with her presence. Please forgive Chen Sha for failing to welcome you properly from afar," he said, offering her an apologetic gesture.
The Queen Mother Sect Leader was likely in her forties or fifties, but she looked to be only in her thirties. She maintained her youth extremely well. Though a faint trace of wrinkles had inevitably appeared at the corners of her eyes, it didn’t make her look old; instead, it added a distinct, mature charm to her appearance.
"Nephew Chen is too polite. There’s no need for our two sects to treat each other like strangers." Bi Yunxiao explained her purpose for coming, smiling as she spoke. "Originally, I heard that Nephew Chen had caused quite a stir in the Capital City. I discussed it with the Elders of our sect, and fearing that you would be isolated and helpless, we came specifically to show our support. I didn’t expect to be a step too late. Since we couldn’t offer help in your hour of need, we can only add to your glory. I congratulate you, Nephew, on reviving the prestige of Dao Yi."
Hearing that the Queen Mother Sect had indeed come to aid Dao Yi, Chen Sha appreciated their profound loyalty despite their late arrival. "Whether it is offering help in an hour of need or adding to our glory, this junior deeply appreciates the sentiment. Elder Bi, please come inside the temple to speak."
Saying that, he turned to Jiang Chengzi of the True Martial Sect and added, "Though I don’t know the purpose of Sect Leader Jiang and the True Martial Elders’ visit, since we belong to the same Daoist Sect, as long as you are not here to make things difficult for me, you are all guests. Please, come in as well."
When Jiang Chengzi and his three companions heard Chen Sha say "as long as you are not here to make things difficult," their hearts couldn’t help but skip a beat. They faintly sensed a fleeting burst of pressure. Jiang Chengzi already felt quite pressured facing Chen Sha alone. Furthermore, Chen Sha and the Queen Mother Sect Leader were chatting happily as if they were family reuniting. Since this was equivalent to facing two Great Daoist Sects simultaneously, he absolutely couldn’t show any hostility.
He immediately chuckled and said, "As fellow members of the Daoist Sect, how could we possibly make things difficult for Sect Leader Chen? I have only come to ask you for guidance on a certain matter. I hold no hostility whatsoever."
Following his words, Chen Sha invited the members of both Great Daoist Sects inside. Once they reached the main guest hall of Jade Capital Temple, he ordered Lin Qingqing and Qii Zhengyi to pour tea. "The tea here in Jade Capital Temple is exclusively supplied to the royal family. I am using borrowed provisions to play the generous host to the Buddha, so please have a taste."
After Bi Yunxiao, Jiang Chengzi, and the others had tasted their tea, Chen Sha looked at Jiang Chengzi. "May I know what Elder Jiang Chengzi wishes to ask me?"
Chen Sha genuinely couldn’t guess the True Martial Sect’s motive for coming. He believed he had never interacted with the True Martial Sect in any capacity. They had no grudges and no connections, so why would these people come to visit him?
Bi Yunxiao couldn’t help but look at Jiang Chengzi with curiosity. Subsequently, she glanced at the Little Daoist Child standing behind her. She seemed to want to ask if this disciple knew anything, but unexpectedly, the Little Daoist Child subtly shook his head.
Seeing everyone looking at him, Jiang Chengzi hesitated. This matter was of immense importance; it concerned the inheritance and future prosperity of the True Martial Dao Sect’s next generation. Normally, he shouldn’t disclose it to two competing Daoist Sects. But coincidentally, the starlight of the Seven Stars had landed right here at Jade Capital Temple.
Jiang Chengzi stared at his teacup. Finally, he let out a long breath and asked with a trace of nervousness, "Sect Leader Chen and Sect Leader Bi both know that since ancient times, our True Martial Dao Sect has venerated the True Martial Emperor. Therefore, whenever the starlight of the Beidou shifts, it destines someone to have an affinity with our True Martial Dao Sect. A few days ago, on Emperor’s Descent Peak, the few of us saw a ray of Beidou starlight shoot down from Beyond the Heavens into the earth, landing right near this Jade Capital Temple in Zhao Country. We don’t know whether this omen corresponds to a certain Daoist within Jade Capital Temple or someone else entirely, so we came to inquire..."
Upon hearing this, a trace of solemnity surfaced on Bi Yunxiao’s face. "Is Sect Leader Jiang saying that another True Martial incarnation has descended upon the Mortal Realm?"
