Chapter 228: Wisdom Hunt V

The two continued deeper into the Frostland Orc territory.

As they advanced, the number of Orcs gradually decreased. However, the ones they encountered became considerably stronger. Their weapons were better, their battle techniques were more refined, and their coordination was noticeably superior to that of the ordinary Frostland Orc Warriors.

Kaiser and Ripple dealt with each group without much difficulty.

Kaiser continued practising his Minor Vibration Manipulation and Supreme Rule of Shattered Soul, while Ripple used Fate King’s Arsenal to eliminate the Orcs.

Whenever an Orc fell, Kaiser received the corresponding Wisdom Points through Wisdom Devourer. He continued investing them into his Supreme Rule of Shattered Soul, gradually improving his comprehension.

Eventually, after clearing another group of Orcs, the two arrived at a massive stone gate.

Unlike the smaller passages they had crossed earlier, this entrance was considerably larger. Thick pillars stood on either side, and strange frost patterns covered the stone surface. Several enormous weapon marks could also be seen across the surrounding walls, as though countless battles had taken place there.

Kaiser stopped in front of the entrance.

’This should be the boss chamber.’

He could sense an extremely powerful presence coming from the other side.

Even Ripple, who had been happily following him throughout the hunt, became slightly more serious.

"Father, there’s a strong one inside."

Kaiser nodded.

"I can feel it too."

He placed his hand against the stone gate and pushed.

CREAK!

The enormous gate slowly opened, revealing a vast chamber.

The room was large enough to accommodate several hundred Orcs at once. Thick pillars supported the ceiling, and a frozen platform stood at the far end. Frost energy filled the entire chamber, making the temperature considerably lower than in the passages they had crossed.

However, Kaiser’s attention was immediately drawn to the enormous figure standing in the centre.

It was a Frostland Orc Warlord.

The creature was a hulking giant, standing several metres tall. Its muscular body was covered in grey skin, and blue veins of frost energy pulsed beneath its surface. Unlike the ordinary Frostland Orcs, its body was surrounded by an unsettling aura that made the surrounding temperature drop continuously.

In its enormous hand was a weapon that looked as though it had been carved directly from a massive piece of ice.

It was a gigantic battle axe.

The blade was thick and heavy, with sharp edges that reflected the faint light inside the chamber. Frost energy constantly flowed through its surface, forming small ice crystals whenever the weapon moved.

The Orc Warlord slowly turned its head towards the entrance.

Its eyes settled on Kaiser and Ripple.

For a moment, it remained silent.

Then, a deep voice echoed throughout the chamber.

"Welcome, challengers, to the realm watched over by the War God!"

The Orc Warlord raised its enormous battle axe and struck its chest with its free hand.

BOOM!

The sound echoed through the chamber.

Kaiser looked at the creature for a moment before speaking.

"Nice. A fanatic."

The Frostland Orc Warlord narrowed its eyes.

"Do not insult the War God in my presence, human!"

Kaiser shrugged.

"Well, what else am I supposed to call someone who welcomes strangers by declaring that they’re entering the realm of their god?"

The Warlord tightened its grip around the enormous axe.

Its expression became increasingly hostile.

"You know nothing of the War God! His strength is absolute! His teachings have guided our people through countless battles!"

Kaiser listened to the declaration with an uninterested expression.

’As expected, another one who worships a powerful being.’

He had encountered enough powerful creatures and strange forces to know that there were countless beings worshipped as gods throughout the world.

However, he wasn’t particularly interested in listening to another long speech about their greatness.

The Orc Warlord suddenly raised its battle axe.

"Enough talking! I am Baraka, the Frostland Orc Warlord! Remember my name, challenger, for it shall be the last thing you hear before your death!"

Kaiser looked at the enormous creature.

"Baraka, huh?"

He smiled faintly.

"Fine. My name is Kaiser. Let’s fight."

Baraka’s eyes flashed.

"Good!"

The Orc Warlord took a massive step forward.

BOOM!

The ground trembled beneath its feet.

A thick layer of frost spread outward from its body, rapidly covering the frozen platform. The enormous battle axe in its hand began glowing with a deep blue light.

"Come, Kaiser! Show me your strength!"

Kaiser didn’t immediately move.

Instead, he carefully examined Baraka.

’This guy is considerably stronger than the Orcs outside.’

The pressure coming from the Warlord was far greater than anything he had encountered during the hunt. Its body alone possessed immense physical strength, and the frost energy surrounding it was dense enough to affect the entire chamber.

More importantly, the way it held its battle axe suggested that it was an experienced weapon user.

Kaiser was looking forward to seeing its battle techniques.

Meanwhile, Ripple floated beside him and raised his hand.

"Father, can I fight too?"

Kaiser glanced at him.

"Of course. Just don’t finish him before I get a chance to test my abilities."

Ripple immediately nodded.

"Okay!"

Baraka watched the exchange and let out a deep laugh.

"Hahaha! You think you can defeat me with two people? Very well! Come at me together! I shall show you the true strength of the Frostland Orcs!"

Kaiser smiled.

"That’s exactly what I was planning to do."

He raised his hand, and faint vibrations began gathering around his fingertips.

At the same time, Ripple summoned several golden spears around himself.

Baraka didn’t wait for them to make the first move.

The enormous Orc Warlord let out a roar and charged towards Kaiser. Despite his massive body, his movements were surprisingly fast. Each step caused the frozen ground to tremble, and the battle axe in his hand released a powerful wave of frost energy.

"Frostland Battle Art: Mountain Cleaving Strike!"

Baraka raised his enormous axe and brought it down with tremendous force.

A massive crescent of blue energy shot towards Kaiser, cutting through the air. The surrounding temperature dropped rapidly as the attack passed, and a thick layer of frost spread across the ground in its wake.

Kaiser didn’t retreat.

He raised his right hand and gathered vibrations around his palm.

’Let’s see how much power this guy’s attack carries.’

The vibrations in the air rapidly intensified, forming a concentrated shockwave directly in the path of the incoming attack.

BOOM!

The two forces collided.

A powerful explosion shook the chamber, sending fragments of ice in every direction. The shockwave spread across the frozen platform, forcing Baraka to take a step backwards.

However, the Orc Warlord wasn’t injured.

He looked at Kaiser with surprise before breaking into a loud laugh.

"Hahaha! Not bad! You actually managed to stop my attack!"

Kaiser glanced at the remaining frost energy before looking back at Baraka.

’His attack is considerably stronger than those of the Orcs outside.’

He could tell that Baraka had used far more energy in that single strike than the ordinary Frostland Orc Warriors could gather in several attacks.

More importantly, the Orc Warlord seemed to have considerable experience using his battle axe.

"Again!"

Baraka roared and rushed forward.

This time, he didn’t release a long-range attack. Instead, he swung his enormous axe directly towards Kaiser.

The blade cut through the air with terrifying force.

Kaiser slightly moved his body to the side.

WHOOSH!

The axe passed just inches away from him and struck the ground.

BOOM!

The frozen platform cracked, and several enormous chunks of ice were sent flying.

Baraka immediately twisted his body and swung the weapon horizontally.

Kaiser raised his arm and gathered vibrations around his forearm.

CLANG!

The axe struck the vibrating energy surrounding his arm.

The impact forced Kaiser to slide backwards several metres, leaving deep marks across the frozen ground.

He looked at his arm with a slightly surprised expression.

’What incredible strength.’

Even with his vibration manipulation, blocking that attack directly wasn’t easy.

Baraka didn’t give him time to recover. He raised his axe again and unleashed another series of powerful swings.

Each attack carried enough force to shatter the surrounding ice.

Kaiser continued avoiding them, occasionally using shockwaves to disrupt the Orc Warlord’s movements.

However, Baraka’s combat experience was considerably better than that of the warriors outside. He quickly adapted to Kaiser’s attacks and began using his weapon to disperse the shockwaves before they could reach him.

"What’s wrong, human? Is this all you’ve got?"

Baraka laughed as he swung his axe again.

Kaiser narrowed his eyes.

’He’s getting used to my attacks.’

He had deliberately avoided using his undead or relying on powerful skills because he wanted to test his own abilities. The battle was proving useful, especially since Baraka possessed genuine weapon mastery.

However, he wasn’t planning to spend the entire fight dodging.

’Let’s try something different.’

Kaiser extended his hand towards the Orc Warlord.

This time, he didn’t focus on the air or the energy surrounding Baraka.

Instead, he targeted the vibrations within the massive weapon itself.

The enormous ice axe suddenly began trembling.

Baraka immediately noticed something was wrong.

"What?!"

He tightened his grip, trying to stabilise the weapon.

However, the vibrations continued increasing.

Crack!

Several fine fractures appeared along the blade.

Baraka’s expression changed.

He quickly pulled the axe backwards and infused it with frost energy, attempting to suppress the strange disturbance.

Kaiser raised an eyebrow.

’So he can reinforce his weapon with energy. Interesting.’

Before he could continue experimenting, Baraka suddenly released a burst of frost energy from his body.

The entire chamber turned colder.

A thick layer of ice spread across the platform, and countless sharp ice spikes emerged from the ground around Kaiser.

"Frostland Battle Art: Frozen Grave!"

The ice spikes shot towards Kaiser from every direction.

Kaiser calmly looked around.

’He’s using the environment to attack.’

He raised both hands.

The vibrations within the surrounding matter began slowing down.

The temperature in the area dropped even further, but this time Kaiser wasn’t simply creating ice.

He was manipulating the vibrations of the matter itself.

A layer of unusual ice rapidly spread around him, forming a defensive barrier.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The incoming ice spikes struck the barrier but failed to penetrate it.

Kaiser examined the structure for a moment.

’The ice formed through my ability is much denser than ordinary ice.’

He could feel the difference through his control over the vibrations. The matter had entered a state that was fundamentally different from the ice created by conventional frost abilities.

Before he could examine it further, a golden light flashed past him.

BOOM!

Several golden spears struck the ice spikes surrounding Kaiser, destroying them.

Ripple floated beside him with a proud expression.

"Father, don’t worry! I’ll help you!"

Kaiser glanced at him.

"I told you that you could fight. You don’t need to ask every time."

Ripple nodded happily.

"Okay!"

He turned towards Baraka and raised both hands.

"Fate King’s Arsenal!"

Golden light spread throughout the chamber.

Dozens of golden spears appeared around Ripple, each one carrying a powerful aura.

Baraka looked at the incoming weapons and snorted.

"More tricks? I’ll crush all of them!"

He raised his battle axe and swung it towards the spears.

"Frostland Battle Art: Frozen Mountain Cleave!"

A massive wave of frost energy erupted from the weapon.

The attack swept across the chamber, colliding with the golden spears.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
