My Professions Have Too Much Personality
Chapter 677: Qin Yun Gifts a Treasure, Morning Star Residue
Chapter 677: Chapter 366: Qin Yun Gifts a Treasure, Morning Star Residue
At this thought, Su Chen took another look at the development progress of his Main Profession.
Although he developed it whenever he had free time, as always, the development progress of the Scorching Thunder Ritualist was still only at eight percent, not even breaking into double digits.
He muttered to himself, “Sigh, it’s still a bit too slow. The True Radiance Talent Transformation will probably take some time, but I need to complete the Shadow Shattering Body as soon as possible.
“Aside from the Wind Dancer, there are seven other professions. In total, they can bring a 350 percent boost to my development efficiency, which is already highly impressive.”
The Shadow Shattering Body could not only make up for his shortcomings in speed and stealth but also provide a boost to his development efficiency. The currently sluggish development rate was making him a bit impatient.
He thought, “However, this matter will have to wait until after Qin Yun’s banquet. Residual Spirits are also extremely important.”
After training until mid-afternoon, Su Chen’s eyes flickered slightly, and he reined in his focus. Just as he stepped out of the training room, his vision suddenly darkened. A fierce gust of wind rushed against his face, and a heavy weight clamped down on his shoulders.
“Good boy!” A familiar voice rang out, instantly easing the tension in Su Chen’s heart.
“Senior Brother!”
Su Chen grimaced, gesturing toward Qing Cang’s hand on his shoulder. It clamped down on him like an iron band. Even with his current physical conditioning, he could still feel a dull, throbbing pain.
“You really gave me a massive surprise.” Qing Cang released his grip, his face still flushed with excitement. “Star Champion! You actually became the Star Champion!”
He knew exactly how difficult it was to claim the title of Star Champion. In his youth, he had also participated in the Peak Star Conference. The first time, he could only watch from the sidelines. The second time, he barely squeezed through the preliminaries. His final attempt landed him in the top ten. The strength of those competitors had been simply unfathomable.
Although he had held onto a sliver of hope beforehand, seeing that hope turn into reality still left Qing Cang with a sense of disbelief. This was especially true considering the unique format of this year’s Peak Star Conference. The King’s Shadow was far from ordinary; it had been condensed from the Power of Six Kings.
“Senior Brother, my ears are practically growing calluses from hearing that. Let’s just skip the praise,” Su Chen said helplessly.
Qing Cang paused for a moment before laughing and scolding, “I came straight to you the moment I returned to the Sect, and yet you’re acting so calm.”
Su Chen felt a bit dejected. “Master and several other Ancient Kings have all entered the Flame Space. It’s truly hard to be happy about it.”
Hearing this, Qing Cang’s expression sobered. The first thing he had learned after emerging from the Sect’s Star Gate was that Su Chen had become the Star Champion. The second thing was that the Ancient Kings had all entered the Flame Space and likely wouldn’t be returning anytime soon.
After pondering for a moment, Qing Cang finally said, “The power dynamics between the Five Great Sects and the Royal Court have been maintained for many years. Sitting high above the rest for so long is bound to breed resentment.
“Now that the Ancient Kings have vanished, it presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. There are definitely ambitious individuals looking to stir up trouble.
“However, human nature is unpredictable. The Dust Star Sea is vast, and the Five Great Sects and the Royal Court are no pushovers either. If anyone really wants to cause a commotion, it won’t be that simple. Our foundation is still strong.”
“But there are still the Deceitful Gods,” Su Chen reminded him.
“The Deceitful Gods…” Qing Cang’s expression shifted slightly. “They are indeed a wild card, but there is no need to worry too much. Given their nature, it is almost impossible for their true bodies to descend into reality. At most, they will just stir up some minor waves.
“With the Sect’s foundation, there’s nothing to fear.”
“Can our Copper Heart’s foundation withstand the Morning Star Tier?” Su Chen took the chance to ask the question on his mind.
Qing Cang shot him a glance and burst into laughter. “You are looking down on our Sect way too much. Within the territory of Copper Heart, any destructive force exceeding a certain scale will be forcibly suppressed.
“If any unauthorized Power of Morning Star emerges, it will be immediately contained. I estimate that right now, only Chu Lingyuan’s Power of Morning Star can be used recklessly within the Copper Heart Department.
“Let alone a single Morning Star, even if several Morning Stars arrived at once, they wouldn’t be able to do anything.”
“The Power of Morning Star can actually be distinguished?” Su Chen asked in surprise.
“Of course.” Qing Cang nodded. “Every Morning Star is entirely unique.”
“That’s good…” Hearing this, Su Chen looked as though he had breathed a sigh of relief, but inwardly, he weighed the implications. He thought, “In that case, it really wouldn’t be wise for me to strike first.”
If the Great Venerable made a move and became embroiled in a battle with Qin Yun, Copper Heart would inevitably detect it.
Qing Cang chatted with him a bit longer before leaving in a hurry. He needed to find Chu Lingyuan to understand the situation in greater detail.
“Since that’s how it is, I should see exactly what kind of banquet this will be.” Su Chen activated his wristband, found Qin Lie’s contact information which he had added last time, and sent a message over.
As for the multiple replies that instantly shot back, he couldn’t be bothered to read them carefully.
Several days later, in Copper Heart.
Qin Yun’s banquet was held at the somewhat desolate Qin estate. Since only high-ranking officials were invited, the guest list was relatively small, making the venue more than capable of accommodating everyone.
At the Copper Heart Port, a large crowd had already gathered in groups of twos and threes. There were Vice Hall Masters from various halls as well as supervisors from different departments. As they conversed, they frequently glanced toward the harbor.
“I didn’t expect you to actually be willing to attend Qin Yun’s banquet,” Chu Ran remarked in surprise from aboard the Flying Device heading their way.
“Is it that surprising?” Su Chen was a bit speechless. Chu Ran had asked him this question multiple times over the past two days. Even though Su Chen had given him a clear answer every single time, the guy had still shown up at his Floating Island first thing in the morning.
Chu Ran hadn’t even been invited; he was purely tagging along for the spectacle.
“Surprising is an understatement! Venerable Qin Yun previously wanted to kill you, and you don’t exactly strike me as the magnanimous type,” Chu Ran muttered.
Su Chen gave him a sidelong glance and shook his head. “A dying person’s words are spoken in good faith. Besides, Venerable Qin Yun did bleed for the Sect in her youth.”
This was actually true. Having simulated Qin Yun’s entire life experience, he knew that before becoming a Venerable, and during her early days as one, Qin Yun had indeed sacrificed a great deal for the Sect.
