Chapter 416 - 241: On Red Thunder Star
When the topic turned to the people on Red Thunder Star, Ming Lin and Su Chen spoke a little longer.
Not long after, a message popped up on Ming Lin’s wristband. He glanced down, grinned, and prepared to leave. "A few guys from the patrol team are calling me out for drinks. I’m off."
Watching Ming Lin leave, Su Chen collected his thoughts and his gaze fell back on the panel he had summoned.
After Tolerant, the two large words "Take Profession" shone brightly.
This special Profession wasn’t difficult to begin with. The second of its most time-consuming requirements had been erased, leaving only the need to experience ten different types of extreme fatigue.
During this period, Su Chen had taken the time to complete the requirement while circulating his Meditation Technique.
He was just waiting for the Sly Fox Essence to be ready. Once he used it to increase the Profession’s difficulty and obtain the extra rewards, he could take it.
The time needed to melt the essence wasn’t too long. Su Chen first absorbed the three portions of Cunning Fox Divine Power and let them begin melting. A faint DING DING DONG sound echoed in his ears.
’Let’s see, about three months have passed since I acquired Tolerant. It makes sense to complete the requirements and take the Profession now. After I do, I can look into acquiring the next special Profession for Permanent Body.’
Thinking of this, he did a quick calculation. There were currently four Holy Professions he could pursue.
Purifier just needed Spiritual Fire. The Life Burner evolution required at least seven powerful physical-type Professions. Permanent Body was just beginning, and he had already taken two Professions for Phoenix.
He thought for a moment. ’It’s a bit complicated.’ Returning to his room, he found a pen and paper and drew up a table.
Under Life Burner, he wrote: Wind Dancer, Armored Bone Warrior, Tyrant, Gourmet.
Under Permanent Body, he wrote: Tolerant.
And under Phoenix, he wrote: Sturdy Traveler and Nourisher.
’Life Burner requires seven physical-type Professions. If I ignore the ones from Phoenix, I already have six physical-type Professions. I only need one more.’
As Su Chen calculated carefully, he couldn’t help but feel a little surprised himself. Even though Reverser and All Things weren’t strictly physical-type special Professions, they were close enough.
But the evolution for Life Burner was for a brand-new Holy Profession, equivalent to the first-ever melting within his body. It required Morning Star Fire, not the weakened version needed for Purifier.
’I can’t possibly have to wait until I advance to the Morning Star Tier to perform this Life Burner melting, can I?’
’Since there’s a way to reproduce the weakened version of the Morning Star Fire, there must be a way for the original version too. I just haven’t found it yet.’
Su Chen wasn’t in a hurry about this. After all, two of the Professions were ones he had forcibly cobbled together from the Phoenix Holy Profession.
For now, he could continue to steadily accumulate physical Professions. It wouldn’t be too late to perform the melting once he found a way to ignite the original Morning Star Fire.
Besides, seven was just the minimum. The more Professions he melted, the more powerful the ability would naturally be.
As for the Phoenix Holy Profession, he thought of Lan Hao...
’It’s hard to find a chance to scare the guy inside the Sect. I’ll just have to wait and see.’
He took stock of what he needed to do next.
Su Chen burned the paper to ash and glanced at the time. It was still early.
’My weapons need to be upgraded, too. Being able to bring them into the Netherworld Space with almost no cost is pretty useful in case a fight breaks out in there.’
The benefits of a Secret Artifact had been demonstrated more than once, and Su Chen certainly hadn’t forgotten them.
He first activated his Soldier Nurturer Professional Ability, comprehending and memorizing the upgrade materials needed for each of his weapons.
As for a new Secret Artifact to control, he already had an idea: a special weapon designed for defending against or attacking Spirit Bodies.
’For this, I’m afraid I’ll have to make a trip to the Artifact Hall.’
Inside the Sect, weapons were strictly controlled. They were restricted exchange items that could only be acquired through the Artifact Hall.
He still had some Star Coins left over from buying the Cunning Fox Divine Power, about two million or so. He wondered if it would be enough.
’Steward... Zhou Yunyang. Vice Hall Master... Fan Zhao. I hope they don’t cause any trouble.’ Su Chen tidied up a bit and, for the first time in a while, left the Floating Island.

Meanwhile, on Red Thunder Star, outside Yingfeng City, a group of people exited the city in a Flying Device and landed a short distance away.
After the hatch opened, the first one to emerge was Chong Jingtian. He instinctively looked up at the blue and red curtain of light that perpetually hung overhead, day and night.
The shards of the Red Thunder Cauldron were as sturdy as ever, holding back the Nether Fog outside.
It had become a habit of his. He had to look up every so often just to feel at ease.
Gazing into the distance, he could see the faint outlines of mountain peaks. Such a view was rare in the past. A constant rumbling sound filled the air.
Several construction machines, like mobile fortresses, were at work. Their giant feet made of crawler tracks and the rotating drills on their fronts easily tore through rock strata, kicking up dust that formed continuous pillars of yellow smoke.
Yingfeng City hadn’t expanded for a long time. Previously, it had been covered by the Nether Fog, and every inch of expansion required paying a steep price to drive the fog away.
But now, they could act without restraint, frantically excavating mountains and quarrying stone, trying to expand the city’s perimeter as much as possible before the Nether Fog returned.
A larger city perimeter meant a larger population and more powerful Professionals.
Xia Hanshi, who looked like a withered tree, followed close behind, his brow furrowed and his expression as cold and silent as ever.
He glanced at Chong Jingtian and asked bluntly, "You’re sure you didn’t get it wrong? Is it today?"
"How could I get it wrong? The people from the Bronze Sect contacted us as soon as they entered the atmosphere. At their ship’s speed, it won’t be long before they arrive."
Chong Jingtian said.
After the two of them came Zhou Yanwu and Shi Yunzhou, followed by another group of people. Some looked very young, while others appeared much more mature.
