My Professions Have Too Much Personality

Chapter 113 - 100: 50% Ability Fusion

Chapter 113: Chapter 100: 50% Ability Fusion

“Some people don’t even have the thought of needing a seat. Even if they look like they do, it doesn’t actually matter to them whether they sit or not.” Su Chen sighed in frustration. “In that case… it’s impossible to tell them apart.”

“But the efficiency isn’t bad. Including the evening rush hour, I can get at least ten a day. I can definitely complete the requirement before the Judicial Court’s assessment.”

Compared to the original, outrageous requirement, Su Chen was already quite satisfied. But then his gaze turned cold. ’But… who sent that guy?’

Through the reflection on the glass wall of the train car, Su Chen locked onto someone a short distance away. The person looked completely unremarkable.

In the process of selecting his targets, Su Chen had to constantly switch cars, and this person had been following him the entire time.

’I just arrived in Ying Feng. I shouldn’t have offended anyone…’ Su Chen thought of last night’s banquet, his brow furrowing. ’That shouldn’t count as offending them, right?’

Ying Feng’s laws were stricter, and its technology was far more advanced than Southwind’s.

He didn’t know much about the city yet, nor was he clear on the limits of its surveillance capabilities. Moreover, he didn’t have an official status yet. Acting rashly would be a bad idea.

’I’ll just observe for now…’

The evening rush hour was still a long way off, so Su Chen returned to his hotel first. He worked out until four or five in the afternoon before heading out again.

However, just as he stepped out of the elevator, he ran right into an acquaintance who had come looking for him.

“Senior Brother Bu?” Su Chen said, surprised.

“You didn’t see my message?” Bu Siqi raised an eyebrow. “I texted you this afternoon.”

“I had my phone on Do Not Disturb,” Su Chen explained. “I don’t like being interrupted when I’m training.”

“Oh.” Bu Siqi didn’t seem to mind. He lifted his right hand, showing Su Chen a black metal case. “The things you asked for.”

Su Chen invited Bu Siqi into his room.

His senior brother clearly didn’t consider himself a guest. Before Su Chen could even say a word, he sat down on the sofa, tossed the metal case aside, and said casually:

“By the way, I have news on that Fog Nightmare Pearl you asked me to find. The Curiosity Shop has one, but it’s not cheap—one hundred thousand gold. I was a step too late, though. Someone already bought it.”

“That expensive?” Su Chen was taken aback, his mind flashing to the one Chu Yunze had given him last night.

’I wonder if Hu Xiang has saved up that much money. It should be about right; even Pan Yu’s net worth was over a hundred thousand.’

“It’s not that bad,” Bu Siqi said. “They only come from a Fog Nightmare that’s about to advance to Tier Three. If it weren’t for its limited applications, it would be even more expensive.”

“I’ll reserve the next one for you when it shows up.”

“There’s no need, Senior Brother Bu.” Su Chen shook his head. “You don’t have to worry about it for now.”

“No need?” Bu Siqi looked at him.

After a moment’s thought, Su Chen decided to tell him about the banquet from the previous night.

“Zhu Xuan, Chu Yunze, Pang Xingwen… Meng Qi…” Bu Siqi seemed just as surprised. “I can’t believe it. He hasn’t even entered the Judicial Court and he’s already building his own faction. This Zhu Xuan is really something else.”

“And I get the feeling that Pang Xingwen is faintly hostile toward me,” Su Chen added.

“That’s not surprising.” Bu Siqi composed himself and explained, “The Pang Family are the local power brokers in Ying Feng. One of them even served as a Chief Judge once. Pang Xingwen’s father, Pang Hui, was a student of Wei Yinsuo and the teacher of Zhou Xian. Every month, a shipment of Glazed Blood from Southwind was delivered to his family.”

“No wonder…” Su Chen realized.

Even though Zhou Xian had colluded with a Deceitful God and got what he deserved, their profits had still been cut off. From their perspective, it was a tangible loss.

“But you don’t need to worry,” Bu Siqi said. “That small loss isn’t enough for them to do anything to you.”

When he saw Bu Siqi stand up to leave, Su Chen stopped him again and said in a low voice, “Senior Brother Bu, someone was following me today.”

Instantly, a cold light flared in Bu Siqi’s slightly casual eyes. “Who?”

For a moment, Su Chen felt a faint sense of Old Xia coming from him.

Su Chen shook his head. “I don’t know. But if I go out later, he’ll probably start following me again.”

“I understand.” Bu Siqi’s voice was frigid. “You don’t have to worry about it. Just go about your business. I’ll take care of it.”

“I’ll head out first. You wait a little while before you leave.”

Su Chen nodded. After seeing Bu Siqi out, he opened the metal case his senior brother had brought. A cloud of cold white mist escaped, revealing the Potions he needed inside.

’Fifteen vials of each? That’s double what Senior Brother Bu originally estimated. This should last me until the assessment, more or less.’

’He’s so generous…’ Su Chen thought as he looked over the included E-level Meditation Technique—the Heart Burning Meditation Method. This technique used fire as a conduit, visualizing crimson flames burning and constantly refining one’s Spirit Body.

He stuffed everything into his Storage Space, then headed out, making his way to the nearest orbital train station as planned.

But this time, the person who had been following him was gone.

Ying Feng had no distinction between an inner and outer city. The factories, breeding farms, manufacturing plants, and even some large research institutes affiliated with it were not located within the city itself, but were scattered in the surrounding areas.

This was because Ying Feng’s own Combat Value was so high that it was more than capable of protecting these outlying areas.

Under the cover of night, Bu Siqi piloted a small airship out of the city, using his Judicial Court credentials for clearance. He flew straight south before stopping in a mountain hollow a moderate distance away.

Here, there was a garrison fortress, but it looked to have been abandoned for a long time.

After bringing the airship to a hover, Bu Siqi opened a storage compartment, pulled out a burlap sack, and walked straight into the deepest room of the fortress.

“Teacher…” he said respectfully, bowing his head.

Xia Hanshi stood before a large board covered in coordinates and photographs.

“Hmm…” Xia Hanshi said nonchalantly. “Who’s in the bag?”
