Chapter 1431: Chapter 1428: Joining the Kuang Family (2)
The Celestial Pill Sect was originally easy to defend and difficult to attack. Without a strategic assault from the outside, it would surely end in a crushing defeat.
"Alright, I agree to your terms and will help you destroy the Celestial Pill Sect. However, you must promise me one thing: not only will you help annihilate the Celestial Pill Sect, but you must also follow me back to Sabina." Kuang Shengtian knew Hao Shuai’s true identity; he was a royal descendant. If he could bring him back, it would be a huge merit.
Then the Kuang family father and son would help Hao Shuai seize the throne, uniting Sabina under their rule in no time.
"Why... why go back to Sabina?" Hao Shuai was clearly reluctant.
"Hehe, it’s nothing, just thinking you could come back with us to help complete some matters. Afterwards, we’ll let you decide whether you want to return to Huaxia, and I won’t stop you," Kuang Shengtian clearly devious, using deception as a tactic.
"That sounds fine, but let me say beforehand, you cannot control me. I can do anything for you, but please grant me freedom!" Hao Shuai was doing this to help the Xu family rise again; beyond that, he cared little.
"No problem. Attacking the Celestial Pill Sect can be discussed later. Currently, the most important thing is that the Assassin Group seems to be preparing for another mountain assault. Let’s deal with them first," Kuang Shengtian said.
Hao Shuai nodded in agreement.
"Brother Hao, what are you planning to do next?" Kuang Shengtian suddenly asked.
"Ah! Honestly, Brother Kuang, I am now homeless and destitute." These words were from Hao Shuai’s heart, though he thought, "Kuang family, if it weren’t for you taking over Huaxia, I wouldn’t be in such dire straits."
Hao Shuai was no pushover; he also wanted to stay and infiltrate the Kuang family. When Huaxia would rise again, he planned to continue his ventures in South Sea City.
For now, alone, he had no choice but to seek refuge. Wandering without direction wasn’t a viable solution.
"Oh? Is that so? I have a request; might Brother Xu be willing?"
Kuang Shengtian suddenly shifted the topic, asking.
"Eh, a man fallen from grace wouldn’t consider willingness or not. Brother Kuang can speak freely," Hao Shuai roughly understood Kuang Shengtian’s intention, which suited him well.
"Hehe, how about staying here for now, and we can discuss the plan to attack the Celestial Pill Sect together!" Kuang Shengtian asked using an amicable tone.
"Alright, as long as Brother Kuang doesn’t mind," Hao Shuai quickly decided and agreed.
Kuang Shengtian smiled slightly, surprised by Hao Shuai’s quick agreement but didn’t think much of it. Since Hao Shuai agreed, there was no need for further persuasion.
As for Hao Shuai’s future actions, Kuang Shengtian had complete confidence in his own family’s strength; he believed that a mere Hao Shuai couldn’t threaten him.
"That’s quite promising, welcome to join our Kuang Family Army."
Kuang Shengtian stretched out his hand excitedly; since Hao Shuai decided, he had to comply, so he reached out as well, and they shook hands to signify their collaboration.
Thus, two evil characters finally teamed up, undoubtedly putting tremendous pressure on Chen Tianlong and Wu Guangzu. The battle, initially more favorable, had increased difficulty due to Hao Shuai’s participation.
However, Hao Shuai was even more frustrated; he never expected that on his first day joining the Kuang family, he would immediately suffer a siege.
That night was destined to be sleepless for Wu Guangzu, Chen Tianlong, and Xiao Feng.
The next day marked a critical battle. Once the war started, reinforcements would surely arrive, which meant they must take the mountain and hold the Assassin Group’s position before aid came.
If they couldn’t uphold the defense, they might face a siege from both sides, leading to total annihilation.
Thus, all team members comprehended the gravity of the situation, ready to risk their lives, eager to charge up the mountain and eliminate the foes.
Unbeknownst to them, the sky slowly started to brighten. Although they hadn’t slept, they’d closed their eyes to preserve their energy, which was still relatively vigorous.
Chen Tianlong was the first to open his eyes, looking at the faint light emerging from the cave entrance, knowing daylight broke.
This day was destined to be extraordinary as he was about to join his brothers side by side in battle, reclaiming the century-old foundation guarded by their master, feeling extremely excited.
Soon, everyone was awake. Chen Tianlong softly patted Wu Mengting resting in his arms and called gently, "Mengting, it’s time to wake up."
"Mm..."
Wu Mengting lazily opened her hazy eyes, lifting her head, blinking at Chen Tianlong.
Even though this fight was highly likely to win, every situation has exceptions. If something went wrong, this might be their last embrace.
Chen Tianlong gazed at Wu Mengting’s adorable demeanor, smiled gently, and said no more.
Wu Guangzu and Gu Yuxin also awoke. At that moment, Gu Yuxin looked at Wu Mengting in Chen Tianlong’s arms with envy but held no resentment.
Because she considered Wu Mengting a gentle and kind-hearted girl, someone she couldn’t bear to harm, so she had never expressed her feelings to Chen Tianlong.
Once everyone was awake, they had some dry rations and a few sips of water, then stood up.
Fang Mou organized the Special Assassination Team members into formation, waiting in line for Wu Guangzu’s orders. By now, Wu Guangzu, Chen Tianlong, and Wu Mengting, Gu Yuxin were all ready.
With weapons in hand, Wu Guangzu walked before the team and said, "Brothers, I won’t say much else; our time to shine is now, fight bravely."
"Understood!" They answered in unison.
"Alright then, let’s move out!"
Wu Guangzu commanded, and the team began walking out, with Chen Tianlong, Wu Mengting, and the others leading the way.
Now it came down to Chen Tianlong, who was familiar with the distribution of all forces. Their first target was the weapon room; controlling it rendered the remaining guards practically defenseless, making killing as easy as chopping vegetables.
Thus, under Chen Tianlong’s guidance, the group decisively headed to the weapon room.
Since it was early morning, the guards were just waking up and hadn’t changed shifts. Though there were eight guards instead of four, eliminating them was but child’s play.
Wu Guangzu gestured, and eight Special Assassination Team members swiftly surrounded them, suddenly appearing before the eight guards, who hadn’t the time to react before being slain.
