Chapter 2887: Chapter 963: Crow’s Faith Deconstruction · A Brief Discussion on the Grand Work of God-Forging
When His Excellency Crow arrived at the Blood Vulture Corridor, it was already dusk. He was still wearing the priest’s robe of the Avalon Church, holding a scroll of the God of Nature’s scriptures and proverbs. Just by appearance, this gentle foreigner always wearing a smile definitely seemed like a devout follower of nature.
However, the truth was that this guy, who had been presiding over weekly gatherings at Avalon Cathedral in Crimson Castle and was well-regarded for explaining the scriptures, was a complete non-believer!
Murphy found it hard to understand why Avalon would allow Crow to parade around in their cathedral, and what he found even harder to understand was that Lady Natalie, as the High Pastor of Avalon Church, had formally commissioned Crow to help them revise doctrines and texts for a comprehensive separation from the old religion in terms of doctrine and rituals.
Having a non-believer execute such a faith-related task, and receiving unanimous approval from all of Avalon Church, made Murphy marvel at His Excellency Crow’s extraordinary talent in professionalism.
In fact, he wondered if this guy had some sort of "word of power" skill, subtly brainwashing the Avalon Church’s management? Otherwise, it was impossible to explain how a non-believer had not only avoided the stake but also thrived within their faith system.
Faced with Sir Murphy’s odd gaze, the knocking Crow entered with an inherently non-threatening smile and sat on a chair, awaiting the start of tonight’s discussion.
Murphy wasn’t fooled by Crow’s harmless expression; previously, when he and Mannis were choosing Star Realm guardians, the contract crafted by Crow left a deep impression.
This guy was definitely no saint!
Opposite Murphy and Crow were two ongoing projection rituals, personally hosted by Miss Phemys, indicating that the other two participants would join the discussion in projected form. A few minutes later, Triss’s psychic projection materialized within the ritual.
She glared fiercely at Murphy before sitting in the chair prepared for her.
The last attendee soon arrived. When Lord Paryen’s figure appeared, the four present stood up to greet and pay their respects.
"Sit down."
Wearing a scarlet robe, the lord seemed weary, gesturing with his hand as he spoke:
"I am currently leading the Blood Covenant Knight Order to the Ligurian Peninsula. The situation there has worsened, Murphy. You will likely soon receive an official request from Charles Harbor; Transylvania must be prepared."
"Hmm."
Murphy nodded, but the situation in the Ligurian Peninsula wasn’t the topic for discussion tonight, so once everyone was seated, Murphy took the initiative to speak:
"I have commissioned Lord Ofg to craft a Primitive Shrine for vampires using purified god-materials, with techniques from Lady Spider’s original shrine.
Lord Ofg has promised to complete its assembly as soon as possible, but before we obtain it, we need a thorough analysis and reasonable conclusion about this matter. Honestly, if we can’t find a proper method to restrain the Midnight Mother, I’d rather we not use it.
In fact, I have another way to address the hidden danger of the Midnight Mother."
He glanced at Triss and Phemys, saying:
"We currently have two ’human vessels’ capable of resonating with the Midnight Mother, and we possess methods to kill the Evil God in the material world. So, in desperate situations, we can lure that divine offspring from the subspace into the material world, then solve all troubles with one strike of God’s Scepter."
"That’s a measure only to be used in the worst-case scenario, and we’re far from reaching that stage."
Lord Paryen shook his head:
"That’s precisely why we gather tonight. During the Godslayer’s battle, I heard that voice directly. It conveyed instructions to me, encouraging me to persist until Murphy completed God’s Scepter’s launch.
Based on the reports submitted by you both about events in Cardman City, I can confirm that the divine offspring wandering in the subspace indeed has a unique dual nature, sufficient to prove that beyond filth and degeneration, the Midnight Mother holds powers as the vampire racial god.
It watches those vampires in need and offers them reminders.
Since it possesses a benevolent side, it proves that its currently vicious form also holds the possibility of reversal."
"Wait, everyone."
Crow was confused, prompting him to inquire:
"Can anyone explain what the ’it’ you’re discussing is?
I heard the term ’divine offspring,’ connected to the events my compatriots experienced, are you referring to the strange creature born in the Holy Blood Hall of the Crimson Corridor?
I learned from other channels that the creature was molded into a fallen existence by the complete self-destruction of the Prime Blood Vulture Clan."
"Roughly so."
Murphy briefly explained the recently occurred events to Crow, and the guy instantly realized why he’d been invited to such a high-level meeting tonight. This non-believer couldn’t help but marvel at the audacity of the vampires!
They actually wanted to use faith connections to revert a fallen divine offspring back to its original state as a god of faith. It was... quite thrilling!
