Chapter 2867: Chapter 956: Lady Spider and Murphy: Fate Like a Web, Rare Tranquility (2)
Sulguk succumbed to such insidious corruption, Avalon was meant to be the second.
However, destiny favored Him; His elven servants daringly experimented in the material world, and during one accidental Divine Power resonance, they perceived Avalon’s corruption. This revelation awoke the God of Nature before He made that fatal misstep, thereby purifying Himself.
I am the product of that purification.
He cannot abandon me; that would mean forfeiting a part of His existence.
For Divine Spirits, lack and incompleteness are terrifying weaknesses. If seized upon by those lurking in the shadowy subspace, a tragedy akin to Sulguk’s could unfold in minutes.
Yet He cannot acknowledge me, cannot embrace me as He does His other facets.
After all, I am the creation of corruption.
He can only cautiously isolate me, hoping to later eliminate me with a less hazardous method once His understanding of artificial divinity deepens. However, life yearns to persist and exist once it arises.
Having discerned Avalon’s plight, I ventured to attempt something bold.
Thus, the Shadow Elves were born, and I acquired followers of my own faith.
The Elf King’s delayed action against the Shadow Elves’ uprising afforded me precious opportunity; now, centuries later, I am able to contend against Avalon. Any attempt at ’harmless disposal’ of me would inflict grievous damage upon Him.
But I remain constrained, Lord Administrator.
This matter cannot be resolved internally; I and Avalon are destined to torment each other until the day we fall.
Yet your arrival is an unexpected delight.
The creator has endowed you with miraculous powers to suppress subspace chaos. In certain special circumstances, it acts like a supremely sharp blade; a light slash at a specific spot frees me from Avalon’s shackles, rendering me an independent entity.
Your power is akin to artificial divinity; this ensures that your personal execution of the ’separation’ will not provoke a counterstrike from the divine, sparing Avalon from unforeseen injury.
He will lose a portion of His power, but He will not become weakened."
"How is this explained then?"
Murphy furrowed his brows in thought, then asked:
"You represent a part of the God of Nature’s power. Yet your departure will not weaken Avalon. Frankly, I find it hard to believe."
"This is because Avalon’s form differs from other new gods, dear Mr. Murphy; His essence is the tree in the Star Realm, supporting the entire realm’s dimension as Aphidashir·Tree of Sky Starlight."
His life form dictates that He can create different facets by granting seeds, akin to the regeneration of plants."
Lady Spider patiently elucidated:
"Other new gods possess only one form upon assuming their divine status. In contrast, Avalon emerged with three facets. It is this unique ability that allows Him both purification and isolation of Himself, and over the years, Avalon has employed a portion of His power to fashion a cage for me for my isolation.
Once I am freed, He can reclaim that portion of power.
He might even, therefore, gain more Divine Power to bestow upon His followers in the material world. And haven’t you noticed? Avalon is already prepared for the second ’split.’
Through His faith’s dissemination in human society, He is set to gain a stronger facet to replace my position.
I make this prophecy!
Father of Oak will eventually be born from the Forest Mother’s remains.
That signifies Avalon acquiring another human protector’s authority beyond the elves’ Racial God; benefiting from the ample faith humans can provide, Avalon could leap to prominence among the new gods.
This plan had failed with the collapse of the old religion, yet your selfless support for the Avalon Church has rekindled the God of Nature’s hope for success. In this regard, He owes you an enormous, intimidating debt.
Hence, facing your requests, Avalon will never refuse.
He harbors a guilty conscience...
Haha, the God of Nature is by no means the most honest among the new gods.
Though He is discreet, Mr. Murphy, do not be deceived by His ’honest man’ facade; His capacity to generate my neutral, chaos-leaning facet proves He is the most cunning among all the new gods.
Even my current appeal to you is within His plan.
See!
We converse in His temple, yet the God of Nature feigns tranquility, pretending not to be sneakily observing us.
This confirms His lack of opposition to the matter of my separation."
"But I have my objections!"
Murphy bent down and helped the unconscious Veylanther, leaning her against the nearby wall, and said sternly:
"You have not even concealed your neutral, chaos-leaning conduct style, which makes me unsure that aiding you won’t result in empowering another troublesome Evil God for the Chaos Faction.
Your divine domain covers pain, conspiracy, joy, and destiny; should these forces be infiltrated by subspace, the resulting chaos in the material world would be unimaginable.
Even merely manipulating destiny is enough to become a headache."
"My Network of Destiny is only half complete, my Lord Administrator, I require at least several thousand years to weave that web fully, until then I can only gaze at destiny but not manipulate it."
