My Pervert Sytem
Chapter 183: The Obsidian Vanguard
The massive swirling vortex of pitch-black energy dominated the far wall of the throne room. It hummed with a terrifying, dissonant frequency that rattled the teeth of everyone present. Reality itself groaned under the unnatural strain of the Vaelorian portal.
Lady Morgana lay pinned beneath Leon’s heavy leather boot. The High Priestess coughed, a thin trail of dark blood trickling from her pale lips. Her serene, arrogant composure was gone, replaced by the fanatical zeal of a true cultist.
"You are too late," Morgana wheezed, her glowing pale eyes locked onto the expanding void. "The Obsidian King promised to cleanse this fragile empire. The Solarian bloodline ends today."
Leon did not waste time listening to the delusions of a defeated fanatic. He reached down, grabbing the priestess by the collar of her flowing violet gown. He hauled her effortlessly off the shattered marble steps, hoisting her into the air.
He channeled a precise, localized burst of kinetic energy directly into her sternum. The impact was carefully calculated. It bypassed her ribs and struck a specific cluster of nerve endings, instantly short-circuiting her consciousness. Morgana’s eyes rolled back into her head, her slender body going limp in his grasp.
"Elara," Leon called out, his deep voice slicing through the chaotic hum of the portal.
He casually tossed the unconscious priestess down the steps of the dais.
The fierce crimson-haired cook caught the woman with practiced ease. Elara pulled a thick coil of enchanted rope from her tactical belt, rapidly binding the priestess’s hands and feet. She secured the knots with a pulse of blistering fire magic, melting the fibers together to ensure escape was impossible.
"I will keep her breathing," Elara promised, resting her heavy steel cleaver near the captive’s neck. "But if she wakes up and tries to cast a spell, I am chopping her fingers off."
Leon turned his attention back to the colossal spatial tear.
The heavy, rhythmic marching of armored boots grew deafening. The sound echoed from the dark abyss, projecting the terrifying promise of an endless invading army.
A massive, armored boot stepped out of the swirling black energy, crunching heavily onto the polished marble floor of the throne room.
The first Vaelorian soldier emerged into the light.
The invader was a towering monstrosity, standing a full foot taller than the average imperial knight. The soldier wore thick, jagged plates of black iron armor forged to resemble the terrifying carapace of a deep-sea predator. Glowing crimson blood runes were etched into the metal, pulsing with a sinister, frantic rhythm. The warrior held a massive, double-bladed battleaxe that dripped with a strange, dark oil.
Ten more soldiers stepped through the portal in perfect, terrifying unison. Then twenty. Then fifty.
The vanguard of the Obsidian Kingdom poured into the throne room like a tidal wave of jagged iron and murderous intent.
Seraphina gripped her heavy broadsword, her knuckles turning white. The silver-haired warlord stepped up beside Leon, her Tier One Grandmaster core roaring to life. A blinding, searing wave of volcanic heat radiated from her athletic frame, forcefully pushing back the damp, coppery stench of the invading army.
"They are heavily modified," Seraphina deduced, her violet eyes narrowing as she analyzed the enemy formation. "Those crimson runes are actively pumping corrupted mana directly into their muscles. They do not feel pain."
"Good," Leon murmured, resting his massive blunt weapon against his shoulder. A dark, feral grin stretched across his striking features. "I hate it when they surrender too quickly."
Isolde Vane and Captain Nyx moved to secure the right flank. The Emerald Knight held her glowing rapier in a flawless fencing stance, her vibrant green tabard contrasting sharply with the bleak shadows. Nyx twirled her curved cutlasses, a wicked, eager smirk playing on her scarred lips.
Valeriana and Beatrice remained near the back of the room, guarding Julian Avgar. The beautiful spy held her throwing knives ready, while the Ice Queen summoned a dense, freezing mist that coated the floor in a treacherous layer of solid frost.
The digital interface chimed cheerfully in Leon’s vision, casting a bright pink glow over the incoming wave of hostile soldiers.
[System Notice: The Corsair’s Thirst]
[The fierce mercenary captain loves a chaotic brawl. Ensure she knows who leads this bloody dance.]
[Objective: Look over at Captain Nyx. Wink at her, gesture toward the incoming army of giant monsters, and ask if she wants to place a wager on who can collect more heads.]
[Reward: +20 Perception, 600 Shameless Points.]
[Penalty: A localized curse making your nose run profusely for forty-eight hours.]
Leon smirked, welcoming the absurd distraction. The capital was falling apart, an invading army was breaching the throne room, and the system still demanded chaotic flirtation.
He turned his head, locking his intense midnight eyes onto the corsair captain.
"Hey, Nyx," Leon called out, his magnetic voice carrying effortlessly over the deafening march of the Vaelorian troops.
The mercenary captain glanced over, her dark eyes flashing with feral anticipation.
Leon offered a slow, incredibly charming wink. He gestured casually toward the fifty towering, heavily armored monsters marching toward them.
"Care to place a wager?" Leon asked, projecting a wave of raw, dominant confidence. "I will bet a private evening at the estate that I can collect more heads than you."
Nyx blinked, her predatory focus violently short-circuiting. The sheer audacity of his flirtation in the face of certain death scrambled her brain. A furious red flush rapidly conquered her tanned cheeks. She tightened her grip on her cutlasses, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs.
"You are an arrogant fool," Nyx yelled back, though her voice lacked any real venom. "But you have a deal, tall man. Prepare to lose."
[Quest Complete. Stat Rewards Distributed.]
A refreshing surge of profound sensory clarity flooded his mind. His Perception spiked, slowing the chaotic battlefield to a manageable crawl. He could see the subtle shifts in the Vaelorian armor, the tiny gaps between the iron plates, and the erratic flow of their corrupted blood magic.
"Form a chokepoint at the base of the dais," Leon commanded, instantly shifting back into a ruthless military leader. "Do not let them spread out into the main hall. We hold them here."
The Vaelorian vanguard let out a unified, guttural roar that shook the blood-stained windows. They charged, swinging their massive double-bladed battleaxes with terrifying, explosive speed.
Leon moved to meet the initial wave. He did not rely on complex magical domains. He relied on pure, concentrated physical destruction.
He activated Aura Hardening, wrapping his heavily corded muscles in an invisible layer of dense kinetic energy. He stepped directly into the path of the leading soldier, ducking smoothly beneath a brutal horizontal axe swing.
Leon drove his heavy dark blade upward, channeling a massive surge of kinetic mass into the strike. The blunt steel collided with the soldier’s black iron breastplate with the force of a swinging mountain.
The deafening crunch of shattering metal and bone echoed across the throne room. The Vaelorian warrior was violently launched backward, crashing into the advancing ranks and knocking a dozen soldiers to the marble floor like bowling pins.
Seraphina leaped into the fray, her broadsword trailing a blinding ribbon of crimson fire. She moved with flawless, aristocratic grace, stepping inside the guard of a towering invader. She delivered a devastating, upward slash that effortlessly melted through the thick iron armor, severing the soldier’s torso in a shower of searing sparks.
Isolde and Nyx engaged the right flank with deadly synergy. The Emerald Knight used her pristine fencing footwork to parry heavy axe strikes, creating minuscule openings in the enemy defenses. Nyx capitalized on those openings instantly, darting through the shadows to deliver rapid, lethal cuts to the unarmored joints of the Vaelorian troops.
The throne room transformed into a chaotic, bloody slaughterhouse.
More soldiers continued to pour out of the swirling black vortex. The portal was expanding, the dissonant hum growing louder as the spatial tear stabilized.
Leon swung his heavy weapon in a brutal, continuous rhythm. He smashed helmets, shattered knees, and crushed chests with relentless, mechanical precision. Every time a Vaelorian soldier fell, two more stepped over the corpse to take their place.
"There are too many of them!" Isolde shouted, ducking under a massive axe blade. She retaliated with a piercing thrust that sank deep into her attacker’s throat. "They are going to overrun the dais!"
"Keep the line unbroken," Leon roared, delivering a devastating spinning back kick that sent an invader crashing down the marble steps.
He glanced back at Valeriana. The beautiful spy was frantically analyzing the glowing runes etched into the floor around the dead Emperor’s throne.
"Valeriana," Leon yelled, parrying another heavy strike. "Can you reverse that array?"
The information broker looked up, her face pale and dotted with sweat. "The array is tied to the Emperor’s residual mana. I need time to decipher the Vaelorian encryption. It will take at least ten minutes to sever the connection and collapse the portal."
"You have five," Leon promised, a dark, dangerous spark igniting in his eyes.
He turned back to the endless tide of black iron armor. He took a deep, steadying breath, preparing to push his physical vessel far beyond its natural mortal limits. He needed to build a wall of broken bodies to protect his women, and he was more than ready to start stacking them high.
