The entire selection competition was scheduled to last for five days. Participants not only had to seize enough points, but they also had to survive the full five days.

Even if you managed to snatch enough points on the first day, they could still be stolen by someone else by the fifth.

Therefore, lasting all five days was actually far from easy.

"Are you still worried?" Bai Han asked, walking over to him.

'She was actually quite curious. Chu Feng's Cultivation was so high and his strength so formidable, yet Su Miaoke was incredibly weak.'

"I'm not worried. Aren't you worried about Bai Xue? After all, she's the future successor of the Celestial Sword Sect," Chu Feng said with a smile.

"I'm not worried either. While Bai Xue's strength isn't the greatest, she has no problem protecting herself," Bai Han said.

"Is that so? It's hard to say. After all, many of those reclusive sects have come to participate," Chu Feng said.

"Let them participate. Do you think our Celestial Sword Sect is made of clay?" Bai Han retorted.

'In truth, Bai Han didn't pay any mind to the so-called reclusive sects. Everyone was human; even if there was a gap in power, how large could it really be?'

But there was something else making her anxious now. What Chu Feng had told her the other day had left her feeling somewhat lost.

"What's wrong? You seem distracted. Is something on your mind?" Chu Feng asked, having noticed her state.

"Yes," Bai Han said. "I'm not resigned to it."

"Heh. Not resigned? How many people in this world ever are? Including the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor—do you think he was?" Chu Feng said.

"Don't try to discourage me. Yes, the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor was powerful. Even in his time, he was a renowned figure who dominated an entire era. But just because he failed, that doesn't mean I will, does it?" Bai Han said.

"There's some truth to what you're saying. You're still young, and the Celestial Sword Sect should have plenty of Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones. If you work hard, maybe you really can succeed," Chu Feng said with a smile.

'Bai Han had a point. Just because others had failed didn't mean she would.'

'Besides, if Bai Han were to have some sort of fortuitous encounter, a breakthrough was entirely possible.'

'And the Celestial Sword Sect definitely had Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones to supply her for cultivation.'

"I want to ask you something. Can the Celestial Sword Sect's Sword Skills really increase a person's Divine Soul Power?" Bai Han asked.

"Yes. On that point, I can guarantee it's true. But the process is incredibly slow. Even at your age, it's likely too late."

"Alternatively, you could live on the edge of life and death every day, using that extreme state to strengthen your Divine Soul Power. I wouldn't recommend that method, though. One slip-up, and you're finished," Chu Feng said.

"In other words, facing life-or-death challenges. I understand," Bai Han said with a nod.

"You're not actually thinking of doing it, are you?" Chu Feng was shocked.

"Well, do you have any other methods at the moment?" Bai Han asked.

"You're insane. If something happens to you, don't you dare blame me. That really is the only method I have right now. If I had another, I would've told you already," Chu Feng said.

"I won't blame you. This is my own choice," Bai Han said.

Chu Feng could only shake his head helplessly. He didn't know what else to say to persuade her.

'His own situation wasn't exactly optimistic, either. He estimated he would soon have to begin Crossing the Tribulation, and he didn't know if he would survive it.'

'Chu Feng wouldn't voice this pressure, though. He firmly believed he would make it through.'

Soon, the competition began. The participants scattered throughout the canyon, no one daring to get too close to another.

The moment the starting bell rang, a bloodcurdling scream echoed out.

As the scream rang out, nearby staff members rushed over, but they were too late.

By the time they arrived, the person had already been killed, their Scoreboard taken.

This was something no one had wanted, or expected, to see.

The Foundation Establishment Realm staff member quickly picked up the body and ran out of the canyon, but the person was most likely beyond saving.

The poor soul's throat had been slit with a single sword strike, and blood had sprayed all over the ground.

The surrounding participants watched from a distance. Many were badly shaken, some even breaking out in a cold sweat.

'It's only just begun, and someone's already dead?'

Standing at the highest point in the area, Chu Feng naturally had a clear view of everything.

The one who had been killed was young, not even thirty, yet he had fallen just like that.

"Alas, such is fate," Chu Feng sighed.

"Once you choose this path, you must learn to view life and death with indifference and let go of everything. Isn't death a perfectly normal part of it?" Bai Han said coolly.

'She appeared very young, but in reality, she was even older than Chu Tianshan. It was only natural that she had a detached view of life and death.'

"You certainly have a detached perspective. But I'm suddenly curious—how are you so much like Bai Xue? Both of you are the type to give up everything for the Martial Dao," Chu Feng said.

"Not at all. I am simply myself. There's no one I'm trying to be like," Bai Han said with a smile.

"I'll never understand you women. Why do you love the Martial Dao so much? What's so interesting about all the fighting and killing? Wouldn't it be better to find a good man and settle down?" Chu Feng said.
