My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 341: On the Big Snow Plateau
In response to Bai Han’s assertion, Chu Feng simply stared at her.
He hadn’t expected her to guess so much. ’She’s clearly questioning the origin of my legacy.’
"What are you trying to say?" Chu Feng asked.
"You were only twenty-eight last year, which makes you twenty-nine now—barely thirty by traditional counting. Reaching the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm at such a young age is unprecedented in the history of the Martial Dao. That’s why I believe your legacy must be different from ours," Bai Han said.
"No matter how different it is, I’m still a Cultivator on the path of the Martial Dao. How is that any different?" Chu Feng said with a smile.
"No, I can feel it. There’s a fundamental difference between you and us. What is your current realm?" Bai Han asked.
"Mid-stage Core Formation," Chu Feng said.
"Core Formation... We’ve never heard of that realm. Yesterday was the first time I heard you mention it. So, I’m certain you’re different from the rest of us, aren’t you?" Bai Han said slowly, staring at Chu Feng.
Hearing this, Chu Feng was speechless. ’This woman’s intuition is scarily accurate.’
"You could say that," Chu Feng said. "You’re what are called Martial Cultivators, focusing primarily on the physical body. I’m a Spirit Cultivator. I don’t just temper my body; I also cultivate my Divine Soul, increasing my Cultivation by absorbing Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi."
"I knew it! In that case, can we cultivate like you? Can I become your disciple?" Bai Han asked, her expression firm and resolute.
Even though she was Chu Feng’s senior in both status and age, she didn’t hesitate for a moment. She wanted to walk as far as possible on the path of Cultivation.
"You can’t," Chu Feng said with a sigh. "My situation is unique. If it were possible, my wife would have already followed my path instead of still being a Martial Cultivator. Let’s talk about this some other time. It’s impossible for now. How much longer until we’re there?"
"But why?" Bai Han pressed, unwilling to give up.
"Spirit Cultivators can only exist in large numbers when Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi is abundant," Chu Feng explained. "We are now in the Dharma Decline Era. The Spiritual Qi has long been depleted, making this kind of Cultivation impossible. I can only do it because my situation is unique."
"I think I understand," Bai Han said to Chu Feng, her gaze as resolute as ever. "But as long as there’s even a sliver of a chance, I won’t give up. We’re almost there. It’s just ahead, on that Big Snow Plateau."
Soon, the two arrived at the Big Snow Plateau on Kunlun Mountain. The mountain itself was massive, and the plateau was equally vast.
Many encampments had been set up here, built by various Martial Arts Families and Martial Arts Sects. There were quite a lot of them.
After all, many of the Martial Arts Sects and families had traveled great distances. Some had arrived a month in advance, or at least half a month, to construct livable camps.
As they walked onto the Big Snow Plateau, Chu Feng saw several arenas arranged in a line down the center. There were quite a few, perhaps around ten of them.
It made sense why this place was called the Big Snow Plateau. The ground was incredibly flat, as if it had been deliberately carved out by hand.
The entire Big Snow Plateau could likely hold seventy to eighty thousand people, which was more than enough for the upcoming grand ceremony.
"We need to meet with the other Martial Arts Venerables in a bit. Let’s head inside first," Bai Han said.
There was a temple here, built many years ago.
"Are there a lot of Martial Arts Venerables?" Chu Feng asked curiously.
"Around twenty or so. Why?" Bai Han asked.
"So many are needed just to keep watch? Are you worried someone will cause trouble?" Chu Feng asked, still curious.
"Of course," Bai Han said. "After all, Martial Cultivators from all over the country will be participating in this Martial Arts Grand Ceremony. There are bound to be some reckless fools who want to challenge the rules, and others who just want to cause destruction. Some of them are even old-timers at the Martial Arts Limit. That’s why the Major Sects of Great Snow Mountain are responsible for handling these things."
"People dare to cause trouble at an event like this? Isn’t that just asking to die?" Chu Feng was dumbfounded.
Hearing this, Bai Han glanced at Chu Feng. She knew his strength was immense; likely few in the entire Martial Arts Realm could be considered his match.
When the two of them reached the entrance to the temple, several Martial Cultivators were standing guard.
Upon seeing Chu Feng and Bai Han, the Martial Cultivators at the entrance hurriedly and respectfully said, "Greetings, Venerable Bai Han, Venerable Chu Feng."
"No need for formalities," Bai Han said coolly, then walked straight inside.
Chu Feng followed. Inside, he saw twenty-four portraits, each representing one of the twenty-four Martial Arts Venerables.
One of the portraits was of him. The strange thing was, Chu Feng had no idea when it had been painted.
"When was this painted? Why wasn’t I told?" Chu Feng was baffled.
"I don’t know the specifics," Bai Han said. "In any case, someone was assigned to arrange it."
After passing through the front courtyard, they reached the main hall. Before they even stepped inside, they could hear loud voices that sounded like an argument.
