Chapter 207: Chapter 105: Forceful Breakthrough! Smashing a Century-Old Record
Lin Yi’s gaze shifted to the brightly lit combat building in the distance, a fervent battlelust igniting in his eyes.
’With my current strength, Tier Six? Tier Seven? That should be... no problem at all, right?’
’Then... what about Tier Eight?’
He muttered to himself, his pace unconsciously quickening as he walked resolutely toward the Combat Building.
’Or... the legendary, most difficult... Tier Nine?’
An intense desire surged in his chest.
He couldn’t wait to find out!
He had to test himself!
These ten days of complete transformation, this surging 1240 card Qi and Blood—just how high could they push his combat prowess?
...
The Cultivation Hall.
This behemoth, built specifically for Martial Artists, occupied a massive portion of the training camp’s central area.
Its interior was vast enough to easily contain a standard soccer field.
The high-arching dome, constructed from special alloys and reinforced glass, let in light that was bright but not blinding.
Several entrances and exits were distributed across the Cultivation Hall, leading to special Cultivation Rooms with various glowing signs—Gravity Rooms, Body Technique Rooms, Spiritual Energy Rooms, Combat Rooms...
At this moment.
Near one of the main exits on the east side.
A few students in uniform training clothes were walking out, chatting animatedly.
Their faces still showed the fatigue of high-intensity training, but their eyes glinted with a thirst for strength.
"Hah... I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress lately!" A sturdy student clenched his fist, his knuckles letting out a faint CRACKLE. "I’m gonna go to the combat room and test myself. See if I can last half an hour in a Tier Four simulation battle! If I can, I’ll ascend to the B-class!"
His voice was filled with irrepressible excitement and anticipation.
"Whoa! For real?" A student with glasses next to him whipped his head around, his face a mask of shock and envy. "Your progress is way too fast! You’re already knocking on the door to the B-class? Damn, that’s enough to make anyone jealous!"
Hearing this, the sturdy student’s excitement faded, replaced by a trace of bitterness.
"Sigh! What’s there to be envious of? It’s just frustrating to think about! Back at my city’s No. 1 High, I was unbeatable, the recognized top genius! Wasn’t I the center of attention everywhere I went? But who the hell could’ve known that after coming to this godforsaken place, I can’t even squeeze into the top three hundred! It’s so damn demoralizing!"
"At least you still have a shot at the B-class," another, more composed-looking student said, patting his shoulder. His voice was low. "What about me? I can’t even get close. The gap is just too big. I was really... just a frog in a well before, thinking the little patch of sky above me was the whole world."
He shook his head, his tone filled with self-deprecation and a helpless resignation to reality.
The group was lost in their own reflections.
Suddenly, an unseen current of air stirred behind them.
A figure, with what looked like a casual stroll, shot past them at an astonishing speed, almost as if teleporting.
Fast! So fast that only a blurred afterimage remained!
HISS!
The students only felt a gale brush past their faces, the corners of their clothes fluttering backward in its wake.
Their bodies stiffened instinctively. When they came to their senses, they were shocked to find that they had all unconsciously taken half a step to the side, coincidentally opening a path just wide enough for one person to pass through.
"Damn! Who kicks up that much wind just by walking?" The sturdy student grumbled, rubbing his face. It felt a little raw, as if scraped by a high-speed airflow.
"Whatever strange wind that was, let’s go. Getting to the combat room is more important," the composed student said, not wanting to stir up any trouble.
The sturdy student nodded. Just as he was about to follow his companions, he noticed the guy with the glasses was frozen as if hit by a Body Fixation Skill. His neck was craned, his eyes were locked on something in the distance, and his mouth was slightly agape.
"Hey! What are you staring at? See a peerless beauty or something?" The sturdy student waved a hand forcefully in front of his friend’s eyes.
But the student with glasses took a sharp breath, his eyes lit up, and his voice cracked with excitement.
"Beauty my ass! It’s... it’s him! That guy who just walked past, did you get a good look?!"
"Who?"
The other two were startled by his reaction.
They quickly followed his gaze, straining to see.
All they could see was a back, already about to disappear at the end of the corridor.
"Hiss... Such speed!"
The composed student and the sturdy student both stared, their hearts filled with shock.
’How much time had even passed?’
’He went from passing them to getting that far just by walking?’
’He didn’t use a Body Technique?’
’That speed is inhuman!’
"Lin Yi! It’s Lin Yi from Yang City!"
The student with glasses finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and shouted with excitement, his voice echoing in the empty corridor.
"That guy! Ever since he showed his Divine Power on the stage the first night of camp, he’s been like a ghost. He hasn’t left his room for a full ten days! And today, of all days, he actually came to the Cultivation Hall! This is big news! Absolutely huge news!"
The other two students’ eyes went wide, shining with disbelief.
"It’s really him?!"
"How could it be fake? He passed right by me! That profile, that aura... I’d recognize him even if he were turned to ash!" the student with glasses declared decisively.
"Quick! Let’s follow him and see!"
"What else would Lin Yi be doing here? He must be here to take a combat room assessment! No doubt about it!"
"Ten days without Cultivation? He didn’t even leave his room? Can he even fight in that state?"
"Who cares if he can fight or not? We’ll find out if we follow him! Let’s go, let’s go!"
