Chapter 133: Chapter 87: Making it Ashore

Lin Yi was stumped by the question.

He subconsciously ran through the major factions in his mind.

’The military’s Martial Artists are disciplined and deadly. The Public Security Bureau’s Martial Artists guard the nation. Private martial arts dojos are popping up everywhere, and the great clans and corporations possess deep-seated power... None of them could be underestimated.’

Seeing him struggle, Luo Qian lifted his chin smugly:

"You need to broaden your horizons! In this age of universal martial arts education, the Department of Education is the real cradle of Martial Artists, the ultimate boot camp for forging the strong!"

"Whether it’s the army’s toughest generals, the masters on retainer with the big corporations, or even the grandmasters who founded their own schools—if you trace them back, every single one of them fought their way up, step by step, through the Department of Education’s system."

"And the Huaxia Science Academy..."

"That’s the very pinnacle of the Department of Education’s system! The top of the pyramid!"

"You don’t actually think that just because it has ’Science’ in the name, it’s full of bookworms who do nothing but bury their heads in research, do you?"

"Dead wrong!"

"That place is teeming with hidden masters—a real den of crouching tigers and hidden dragons!"

"If you don’t have real skills, a trump card up your sleeve, or heaven-defying talent in the Martial Dao, you think you can just walk through the doors of the Science Academy? Not a chance in hell!"

Lin Yi took a deep breath and slowly nodded.

"I understand."

In this day and age.

The Science Academy was a Martial Arts Sacred Land, standing above all other Martial Artist organizations.

It didn’t just gather countless geniuses.

It also possessed the Dragon Country’s best Cultivation Techniques, finest Weapons, most advanced technology, and most abundant resources!

"I have to say, Senior Wang Yiming is showing some serious ambition and guts this time!"

Luo Qian stroked his chin, his tone tinged with admiration.

"If he actually pulls this off, his future will be limitless. A meteoric rise is practically guaranteed!"

Then, his tone shifted as he threw a bucket of cold water on the idea.

"But getting into the Science Academy? Heh, the difficulty... it’s not that different from trying to climb to heaven."

Lin Yi couldn’t agree more.

"It really is as difficult as climbing to heaven."

The Huaxia Science Academy was the most dazzling prize, a golden standard hanging over the heads of every genius of the Martial Dao.

But the number of students it accepted each year was pitifully small.

In a good year, they might take a dozen or so. Most years, it was only five or six!

And how many people had their eyes on those few precious spots?

The top ten Martial Arts Universities alone produced thirty or forty thousand graduating seniors each year.

Add to that the geniuses from other major universities...

Across all of Huaxia, there were millions of martial arts graduates every year!

Millions of people, all competing for just a handful of spots!

The sheer ferocity of the competition was a hundred times more terrifying than the notoriously difficult college entrance exam. It was an absolute bloodbath!

Even though Wang Yiming was an outstanding graduate from a top-tier school like Demon City Martial Arts University, the ten great martial arts schools were overflowing with monstrously talented graduates. How could it possibly be easy for him to fight his way through the pack and become one of the lucky few?

Lin Yi frowned, thinking.

"So what does Senior Wang Yiming wanting to get into the Science Academy have to do with us in Yang City? How can a small place like this possibly help?"

"That’s the crucial part!"

Luo Qian’s eyes lit up as he explained,

"To get accepted by the Science Academy, you don’t just need overwhelming power to crush your peers and monstrous talent for Cultivation. You also need a unique skill that puts you leagues ahead of everyone else—a top-tier specialty, so to speak!"

"You might not know this..."

"At Demon City Martial Arts University, Senior Wang Yiming’s major was archaeology, in the School of History!"

"And my guess is..."

"...he’s rushed all the way back to our hometown of Yang City specifically for those Pre-Qin Qi Cultivator tombs!"

"He definitely wants to enter the tombs himself, unearth something earth-shattering, and write a groundbreaking paper that will rock the academic world!"

"If that’s his ticket in—if it’s impressive enough to crush the other competitors—he just might be able to cross the Science Academy’s threshold!"

Lin Yi mulled it over for a moment. Luo Qian’s analysis seemed perfectly reasonable.

’To get into the Science Academy, strength and talent are the price of admission. But who among the graduates of the ten great universities doesn’t have a trump card up their sleeve? Anyone who gets into those schools is a genius. Without a unique specialty and concrete achievements to make you stand out, how could you possibly distinguish yourself from millions of other geniuses and catch the eye of those ridiculously discerning masters at the Science Academy?’

Luo Qian then dropped the key piece of information.

"Within Yang City’s borders, a total of three great tombs of Pre-Qin Qi Cultivators have been identified. The excavation rights for two are held firmly by the Department of Education. The third... well, you know. It’s controlled by Uncle Zhou’s family."

"I made a point to call Uncle Zhou last night. His family has no plans to open or excavate their tomb anytime soon."

"So, it’s ninety-nine percent certain that Senior Wang Yiming is targeting the two tombs controlled by the Department of Education!"

Luo Qian clicked his tongue in amazement.

"Senior Wang Yiming is only in the Fourth Grade Realm, and he’s already setting his sights on a Pre-Qin Qi Cultivator tomb? As expected of a badass from Demon City Martial Arts University. The balls on that guy are fucking huge!"

Hearing this, a chill ran through Lin Yi.

The entrances to those ancient tombs of the Pre-Qin Qi Cultivators were on Blue Star, but their core regions were bizarrely embedded in spatial rifts, forming self-contained worlds.

Each one was treacherous and unpredictable, filled with death traps at every turn.

After years of official exploration, organizations had only managed to poke around the outermost safe zones of Yang City’s three tombs.

The core, inner regions?

With our current level of strength, going in would be a suicide mission. We wouldn’t even be able to find the entrance!

Lin Yi sighed.

"Well, I hope Senior Wang gets lucky and succeeds. But this is all so far removed from our lives. Senior Wang can take risks because he’s skilled, bold, and a Fourth Grade master, after all. Me? I just reached First Grade. And you’re not even a Martial Artist. Why are we wasting our breath worrying about him?"
