My Milf Conqueror System

Chapter 280: The Intercepted

I returned to the Wynn penthouse just after midnight.

The elevator doors opened with a soft hiss. The air inside was cold and dead. It smelled like citrus cleaner, expensive carpet, and nothing else. No people. The suite was too big when it was empty. The lights were dimmed to a warm amber. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, Macau was still awake. Gold and red and white bled across the Cotai Strip. Far below, traffic moved like blood in veins.

I stripped off the tuxedo, the heavy weight of the Julian Croft persona finally lifting from my shoulders. The jacket came off first. The fabric was stiff, tailored to hide tension. Then the shirt. The tie. My skin felt lighter immediately. I rolled my shoulders. My breathing dropped deeper without me forcing it. Julian didn’t breathe like that.

I poured a glass of water from the minibar. The ice cracked loud in the quiet. I drank half of it in one go. It was cold and tasteless. I walked over to the secure communications terminal Nia had set up in the master bedroom. It sat on the marble desk, black and low-profile. It looked like it belonged in a five-star suite.

"Overwatch, I’m back," I murmured. My voice was rough from not using it for hours.

"We monitored the honeypot server while you were gone," Nia reported instantly. She was waiting on the line. "The Imperial Shadow in the suite below you sliced the network. She spent three hours downloading the fabricated financial portfolios. She bought the bait completely."

I set the glass down. "Good," I said. The word was flat. "And what about the Golden Koi?"

There was a pause. Too long.

"The streets are quiet," Claire said. "But we have a little situation. Ten minutes ago, Nia intercepted a heavily encrypted burst-transmission originating from the Imperial Mountain. It was routed to a burner phone in the Outer Harbour."

The fatigue vanished. My pulse kicked once, hard. I could feel it in my neck.

"Did she manage to decrypt it?"

"I already did," Nia said, her voice tight. I could hear her typing. "It wasn’t a message. It was a target package. A physical address, a security layout, and a photograph."

The room got smaller. The air got thinner.

"Who is the target?" I asked.

"Vivian Chau," Claire said. "The manager of the Jade Palace. The transmission included the access codes to her private luxury apartment in Taipa. The Imperial Shadows are moving on her tonight."

I closed my eyes for half a second. The strategy was brilliant in its cruelty. Song Mei couldn’t attack the Golden Koi’s street soldiers without violating the terms of our cold war, and she couldn’t attack Julian Croft because he was a legitimate investor. But Vivian Chau was the bridge. She managed the casino that laundered the street money, and she processed the clean capital that funded the syndicate.

If the Shadows captured Vivian, they would interrogate her. They would break her. She was brilliant with money and terrible with pain. She would reveal the exact financial structure of the Golden Koi. Every drop point. Every ledger. Every offshore account. The whole thing would unravel in 48 hours.

"Where can I find Vivian right now?" I demanded, already moving. I crossed to the hidden compartment in the closet. My fingers found the zipper.

"She left the casino about twenty minutes ago," Nia reported. "She’s en route to her apartment in Taipa. She has two Golden Koi enforcers acting as her personal security detail, but they aren’t trained to handle Imperial Shadows and even if they were they still wouldnt be enough to stop the Shadows."

"They’ll be dead before they even realize they’re under attack," I said, pulling out the black tactical suit. The fabric was cool and heavy in my hands. I strapped the suppressed USP to my thigh. The weight settled. Familiar. I slipped a ceramic combat knife into my boot. "We don’t have time to call for backup. We don’t have time to reroute."

"Noah, you can’t leave the Wynn," Claire warned. Her voice was sharp, urgent. "The Shadow is in the suite directly below you. She’s monitoring the elevators and the stairwells. She’s currently running physical checks. If Julian Croft disappears in the middle of the night, the dual identity is blown and so are your days in that country so unless you have a good plan you need to stay put."

"I’m not taking the elevators," I said, pulling a heavy canvas bag from the closet. Grappling line. Carabiner. Ascender. Mask. Gloves. "I’m not using the lobby either."

I walked out to the penthouse balcony. The doors slid open. The wind was howling, whipping off the South China Sea. It hit me cold and hard and smelled like salt and diesel. My t-shirt pulled against my skin.

I looked down. It was a sheer, terrifying drop to the concrete fifty stories below. The parking garage roof was a gray square. Cars looked like toys. The Strip was a river of light that never stopped moving.

My hands were steady. My heart was calm.

"Nia, loop the exterior security cameras on the east face of the hotel," I ordered, pulling the specialized, high-tensile grappling line from the canvas bag. I checked the tensile rating with my thumb. "Full loop. Thirty second delay. No gaps."

"Cameras are looped," Nia confirmed, her voice trembling slightly. "Noah, what the hell are you thinking of doing?"

"I’m taking the express route," I said.

I secured the grappling hook to the heavy steel railing of the balcony. The metal groaned once under the strain. I clipped the carabiner to my tactical harness. Double-checked it. The wind pulled at my hair and tugged at the line.

Fifty stories. No backup. No comms once I dropped below the balcony line.

Julian Croft was asleep in bed. Noah Reed was about to fall off a building.

I stepped over the edge.

The city fell away. The wind screamed.
