My Martial Spirit is Nanobot
Chapter 421 Origin Points
"Wait," Lin Lee immediately said as he completed the language even hearing more sentences spoken by Wang Yi, reaching out a hand slightly. "I want to believe you, but I recently woke up, and my head was injured. I don’t even know who I am, let alone believe what you just said."
Wang Yi stopped, turning back to face Lin Lee with suspicion. He narrowed his eyes, observing the calm, unperturbed expression on his handsome face, yet noting the genuine earnestness and curiosity that shone in his pupils. Wang Yi glanced around the busy restaurant, then leaned closer.
"This place is not suitable to talk," he muttered, his voice dropping to a low whisper. "Follow me to the cabin."
He then turned around and walked toward the main staircase decisively leading to the second floor. Lin Lee nodded immediately, stood up, and followed him thoughtfully, ’I managed it somehow, looks like I have encountered something extraordinary.’
Upon arriving in a private, well-appointed cabin on the second floor, Wang Yi dismissed his remaining lackey with a wave of his hand. Only two young female maids remained, greeting him with polite, practiced smiles. Wang Yi sat down comfortably between the two maids, draping an arm around each of their waists. He then gestured toward the empty seat in front of him.
"Sit down and tell me about your situation," he spoke with a playful and easygoing expression, his casual authority returning.
Lin Lee nodded, settling into the seat. "Early this morning, I woke up outside this town, in the forest to the north. I found my head was injured, and there was a blood-stained stone lying beside me, as if I had fallen onto it." Lin Lee paused, reaching into his casual shirt pocket and pulling out a few small, tarnished gold ingots. He placed them on the table in front of him. "I had these gold ingots in my pocket."
As he spoke, he patted the back of his head, rubbing his fingers through his hair. When he drew his hand away, a faint red-light, bloody color appeared on his finger, indicating dried blood.
Wang Yi’s gaze swept over the gold ingots and the dried blood on Lin Lee’s finger, then looked at his calm and silent expression.
"Venturing into a realm with just a few gold ingots without any return crystal... he must be from poor origin. His strength is also extremely low... Just a mid level qi gathering realm, I wonder what kind of source talent he has awakened, probably not that impressive, if a simple fall could crack his head open,’ Wang Yi thought analyzing the information provided by Lin Lee, his assessment labeled him. ’Definitely a low-level guy.’
Having come to this conclusion, Wang Yi immediately lost interest. He shook his head dismissively.
"You must have lost your memory after landing here. Someone must have attacked you, or you simply tripped and fell. It’s not a surprise that you encountered such trouble... This is a level four realm and you ventured into it with your mere Mid Level One strength." Wang Yi took a sip from a nearby cup of tea, the maids adjusting their posture slightly at his movement.
’Mid level One, is he referring to the mid qi gathering realm, i have disguised. Also, level four realm.’ Lin Lee thought flickered silently. While Wang Yi looking at his silent expression sighed and spoke further.
"Look, as a fellow countryman, I will just tell you about the main world and this realm," he continued, his tone shifting to one of reluctant obligation. "The rest is up to you... whether you recover your memory or find your true mission in this realm, that’s your path. I can’t help with that."
Lin Lee immediately nodded, his expression polite and calm. "Thank you very much, Brother. Any information would be greatly appreciated."
Wang Yi leaned back, looking slightly mollified by the show of respect. He took a longer sip of tea, allowing the maids to fan him gently before he began to speak.
"The world we came from... the main world, was once a simple place, inhabited only by our human race," Wang Yi began, his voice taking on a serious, almost reciting tone. "Then, suddenly, overnight, everything changed. The world started expanding, and countless shimmering portals appeared all over the globe, each one containing an independent spiritual realm. These realms began slowly merging with our world, bringing disaster and opportunity in equal measure, along with countless alien races adventuring into our land."
Lin Lee listened intently, his internal focus sharp, absorbing the lore dump.
"As humans, the main race of the world, we were brought to the brink of extinction by the countless disasters and invasions we faced," Wang Yi continued, a flicker of fear and desire in his eyes. "But fate, it seems, decided to give us an opportunity. The chaotic energies released by the merging realm portals evolved the remaining humans, granting us special gifts... talents that came from the origin of our very being, known as Source Talents."
He paused, letting the significance of the term sink in. "Every human who awakens a Source Talent gains the ability to pass through a portal before it fully merges with our main world. Upon passing through, it grants each individual a special mission, which inexplicably appears in their memory."
Wang Yi gestured vaguely toward him with his tea cup, indicating that he has lost his memory and he is in trouble. "As they struggle to complete this mission, they can gain the origin points, increasing their strength, much like gaining experience, completing checkpoints, and earning rewards in the end."
He then puffed out his chest slightly filled with pride. "The mission is always directly related to the Source Talent one awakens. Just like me," he said, tapping his finger on the table. "My Source Talent is related to business and merchandise, so my task is to become successful and gather vast wealth. As I gathered it, I broke through the Second Grade in just a month. My future is limitless!"
Lin Lee’s expression remained thoughtful as he digested all the information. He felt the concept was fascinating... a forced evolution of an entire species driven by external, cosmic forces, turning a dying world into a grinding game of survival and advancement.
He internally categorized the strength levels mentioned by Wang Yi:
The Second Grade strength Wang Yi mentioned, corresponding to his Foundation Establishment, meant that the Foundation Establishment Realm was the second stage of cultivation in the main world’s system.
Therefore, the Jindan Realm must be the Third Grade. And the Yuan Ying (Nascent Soul) Realm would be the Fourth Grade.
’Second Grade in a month... His rate of cultivation is really countless times higher compared to the native in this world... Is this the effect of source talent? Can i get it? I wonder will this talent work on my original divine body outside this chaotic realm?’ Lin Lee thought, a faint desire to explore surging through his heart.
’The source talents, the missions, the origin points... I have to explore this system fully.’
He looked up at Wang Yi, who was waiting for a reaction, Lin Lee nodded silently.
"I see, thank you brother for telling me," Lin Lee said, maintaining the calm, amnesiac persona. "So, this realm we are in now... it must be one of those realms that hasn’t been merged yet and it is going to merge with the main world."
"Exactly!" Wang Yi confirmed, visibly pleased that his information was having the desired impact. He leaned closer again. "Also, the spiritual density and the resources here before merging are extremely precious assets for us origin seekers. But, you must be careful as this is a level four realm, meaning the natives here have strength of level four and even level five. Keep in mind the native of these realms are extremely hostile against source walkers like us."
Wang Yi lowered his voice further. "Our mission status requires us to remain discreet. That is why I warned you. Your casual clothes scream ’outsider’ to anyone who knows the situation. You need to blend in immediately, find your mission, and start gathering Origin Points before you are killed."
’I already suspected the heavenly mechanism in this realm is hostile to outsiders... now it is confirmed, Also, the situation is different then i expected. I thought I would ascend to a higher realm, now it seems I have to visit this main world first.’
Lin Lee thought, ignoring the warning. He had devoured the power of four Jindan and one Yuan Ying cultivator to stabilize his Flawless Jindan core; even level five danger is nothing for him once he breaks through the Yuan Ying realm.
He then gave Wang Yi a look of earnest confusion. "Brother can you tell me about Origin Points? How do I earn those, and what is their use?"
Wang Yi chuckled, as if the answer was obvious. "Origin Points are the currency of power! You earn them by completing your mission objectives, killing native spiritual beasts or hostile races, and collecting unique resources from this realm. But, you will get them upon completion of mission after leaving this realm... They are then used to exchange for cultivation resources, techniques, and skills in the main world’s system."
