A mouthful of fangs exploded as blood spewed forth, and its enormous body crashed to the ground!

SQUELCH!!!

The third Earth-Split Bear was pierced between the eyes by Sword Qi!

Its eyes widened. Mid-lunge, its body lost all power and crashed down right before Liang Cheng, kicking up a cloud of dust!

Three Tier Eight beasts, killed in an instant!

Liang Cheng collected their Demon Cores. He was bathed in blood, but his eyes burned with a fierce light!

The surrounding Fierce Beasts, which had been about to pounce, all stopped in their tracks.

They looked at the three still-twitching corpses, then at the blood-soaked human, and for the first time, fear flashed in their eyes.

But Liang Cheng charged into the horde!

Blade Intent!

A Tier Eight Red Flame Lion—its head flew into the air!

Fist Intent!

A Tier Eight Thunder Patterned Tiger—its chest exploded!

Sword Intent!

A Tier Eight Golden-winged Eagle—cut down from the sky!

Cycling through the three True Intents, he left no enemy standing in his wake!

One!

Ten!

Twenty!

Fierce Beasts fell in droves!

Below Tier Eight, they were killed in a single strike!

Tier Eight and above, they were killed within three moves!

The number of Tier Eight Demon Cores in his Storage Pouch steadily grew. Crushed fragments of Tier Seven Demon Cores paved a bloody path beneath his feet as his Crossing the Sea True Intent circulated wildly.

Instead of weakening, Liang Cheng’s aura only grew stronger!

Kill!

Kill!!

Kill!!!

A Tier Eight Horned Lizard charged forward.

Blade Intent took its head!

Two Tier Eight Profound Ice Pythons lunged at him simultaneously.

Fist Intent shattered one, and Sword Intent pierced through the other!

Three Tier Eight Earth-Split Bears closed in on him again.

He unleashed all three True Intents, and all three beasts were slain at once!

The surrounding Fierce Beasts were finally afraid.

They began to back away, letting out low, fearful growls, but they no longer dared to charge.

Liang Cheng stood his ground, drenched in blood. His blade pointed downward, blood dripping from its edge.

Just then, he raised his head and looked into the depths of the gray mist. There, an even more terrifying aura was stirring.

Liang Cheng grew cautious, but he gripped his blade tightly, his eyes blazing with boundless fighting spirit.

Just then, the gray mist fell preternaturally still. All the Fierce Beasts dropped to the ground, trembling uncontrollably as the earth began to quake.

THUD.

THUD.

THUD.

The heavy footsteps sounded, each one hammering against the heart like a drum.

The gray mist seemed to part as a behemoth emerged.

It was a Giant Ape.

It was pitch-black, its fur standing on end like steel needles. It stood hundreds of feet tall, like a walking mountain.

The most terrifying part was its eyes.

They had no pupils, only an expanse of blood-red!

It stared at Liang Cheng and opened its cavernous maw, revealing a mouthful of fangs.

ROAR—!!!

A single roar!

The sound wave was a physical force. The ground cracked and shattered rock flew everywhere in its wake!

Liang Cheng was blasted back three steps, his ears ringing!

Tier Nine!

A Three-Eyed Demon Ape!

It pounced!

So fast!

Despite its massive body, its speed was unbelievable. A giant palm slammed down, the force of the blow like a falling mountain. Liang Cheng had no time to dodge and could only slash out with his blade!

Three True Intents combined as one!

A brilliant flash of blade light met the giant palm head-on!

BOOM!!!

The blade light shattered!

Liang Cheng was slammed into the ground!

A deep crater blasted open in the earth!

SPLAT!!!

He violently spat out a mouthful of blood!

He couldn’t tell how many bones in his body were broken!

But the Three-Eyed Demon Ape didn’t stop. It raised its other giant palm and slammed it down again!

Liang Cheng gritted his teeth and scrambled out of the crater with all his might!

He activated the Cloud Soaring Step, his body moving like a flowing cloud.

BOOM!!!

The giant palm struck the spot where he had just been, and cracks spiderwebbed across the ground for hundreds of feet!

But before Liang Cheng could even regain his footing, the Demon Ape stomped down!

Liang Cheng dodged again!

BOOM!!!

Another stomp!

Another dodge!

BOOM!!!

Another stomp!

Man and ape, one fleeing, one stomping. The ground exploded in their wake, filling the air with shattered rock. Liang Cheng, drenched in blood, felt his aura begin to fade.

’I have to find an opening,’ he thought. ’If this keeps up, I’m dead for sure.’

’After all, this Demon Ape hasn’t even used its Talent Divine Abilities yet.’

This was a Tier Nine Spirit Monster. Only a Golden Core cultivator could hope to stand against it.

If not for Liang Cheng’s incredibly resilient body, any other Core Formation Powerhouse would have long since been killed, their body and dao utterly annihilated.

But continuing like this was just a futile waste of energy. Just then, the Demon Ape raised its foot to stomp once more!

This time, Liang Cheng didn’t run.

He gauged the trajectory of the descending foot, steeled his resolve, and shot straight toward one of its giant hands!

He slashed his blade toward the Demon Ape’s blood-red eyes!

The Demon Ape’s other giant palm swept in from the side!

Liang Cheng twisted sideways, narrowly dodging it, and his blade slashed across the Demon Ape’s face!

SQUELCH!!!

The blade light left a ten-foot-long gash on its face!

Black blood gushed out!

The Demon Ape roared in fury!

It raised both hands and clapped them together!

A two-handed clap!

Liang Cheng had nowhere to run!

BOOM!!!

The two palms slammed together with an earth-shattering boom!

The Demon Ape opened its hands and looked down.

In its palm, there was only a pool of blood.

But in the next instant—

A slash of blade light came from behind it!

SQUELCH!!!

The blade light struck the back of its neck!

In the instant before the palms connected, Liang Cheng had pushed his Cloud Soaring Step to its limit, using the force of the impact to slip through the gaps between its fingers and get behind the Demon Ape!

The Demon Ape roared and swatted behind it!

Liang Cheng had no time to dodge. He was caught by the force of the blow and sent flying backward, crashing into the ruins. This time, he was completely covered in blood, his aura so faint it was nearly imperceptible.

The Three-Eyed Demon Ape turned around. It stared at him, its blood-red eyes filled with savage cruelty.

It walked toward him, one step at a time.

With every step, the earth trembled.

It reached Liang Cheng and looked down at the half-dead human.

It raised its giant palm.

Aimed for his head.

Ready to bring it down.

Liang Cheng lay amongst the rubble, his vision blurring.

’Am I going to die?’

He strained with all his might, trying to tighten his grip on his blade.

Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the collapsed grand hall in the center of the plaza. He recalled that all the Fierce Beasts, including this Three-Eyed Demon Ape, had kept their distance from it.

Not a single one had gone near it.

A realization suddenly struck Liang Cheng.

’They’re afraid to go inside!’

’There’s something in there that they’re afraid of!’

The Demon Ape’s giant palm was already coming down!

Liang Cheng bit the tip of his tongue, pushed his Crossing the Sea True Intent to its absolute limit, pulled out a handful of Tier Eight Demon Cores to frantically absorb their energy, then slammed his palm on the ground, using the rebound to launch himself into a desperate sprint toward the grand hall!

Behind him, the Demon Ape roared in fury and gave chase!

But fueled by the life-or-death crisis, Liang Cheng’s speed was incredible. In the blink of an eye, he was before the grand hall. The Three-Eyed Demon Ape finally opened its third eye, and an utterly terrifying aura instantly flooded the area.

Liang Cheng’s heart leaped, but just before it could unleash its Talent Divine Ability, he managed to tumble through the hall’s entrance!

BOOM!!!

The Demon Ape shrieked madly, pounding the ground with its fists, but it didn’t dare take a single step across the threshold!

Liang Cheng collapsed inside the hall, gasping for breath.

He looked back.

The Three-Eyed Demon Ape stood just outside the entrance, glaring at him.

Its blood-red eyes were filled with frustration and rage.

But it didn’t enter.

It didn’t dare.

It just stood there, waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting for him to come out.

Liang Cheng closed his eyes, a bitter smile tugging at his lips.

’Alive.’

’But trapped all the same.’

He took a deep breath, struggled to sit up, and began to treat his injuries.

’No matter what, I have to survive first.’

’Only by surviving will I have a chance to fight my way out of here.’
