Chapter 570 -246: Leisurely

Master Wen chided with a laugh, “Even if you try to sweet-talk me, the next time you need an elixir, it’ll cost you just as many contribution points.”

Qin Fang feigned surprise. “Huh? Was I that obvious?”

Master Wen burst into hearty laughter, his eyes growing even warmer and more fond as he looked at him.

In the end, Qin Fang left with the Blood Amber Essence Pill and went to find Xile in Guiyuan Valley.

He rode on Xile’s back for the first time in a while, heading back to Linyuan Peak.

They passed many disciples along the way. Seeing Xile didn’t surprise them in the least. It was seeing Qin Fang on Xile’s back that shocked them, prompting them to quickly bow in respect.

…Xile had been living in the Sect for seven or eight years now. It didn’t just stick to Guiyuan Valley; some mischievous female disciples from the Guiyuan Lineage would ply it with treats and ride it around Baichuan Plaza, so over time, the entire Sect had come to know of its existence.

Of course, many of them already knew this wasn’t the first time Qin Fang had ridden Xile around the Sect.

It was just a rare sight.

And even more so now.

In fact, Xile was now basically the Sect’s mascot. Many disciples made special trips to Guiyuan Valley just to see it and feed it treats.

‘This was an Extraordinary Alien Species, after all—’

‘The only one in the entire Sect.’

‘No wonder it looked a bit chubbier the last time I saw it.’

When they reached Linyuan Peak, Qin Fang dismounted and held out a Blood Amber Essence Pill in front of Xile.

The moment Xile saw the Blood Amber Essence Pill, its nose twitched instinctively. Its eyes lit up, and it started panting happily at Qin Fang.

Drool was practically pouring out!

‘Clearly, while it didn’t recognize the pill, its instincts were screaming that eating this thing would be incredibly beneficial!’

The sight left Qin Fang at a loss for whether to laugh or cry.

‘No wonder it’s the Sect mascot. That huge, fluffy head, those clear, innocent eyes, that shimmering golden fur…’

‘Who could possibly resist giving it a good scratch?’

He chuckled and tossed the Blood Amber Essence Pill into the air.

Xile instantly tilted its head back, and with a flick of its massive tongue, swallowed the elixir, which was comically tiny for it.

A moment later, Demon Essence began to surge from Xile’s body.

Xile seemed to grow drowsy. Its body started to sway, but it fought to stay upright, its eyes fixed on Qin Fang.

Qin Fang, having learned from Master Wen what to expect, knew exactly how Xile would react. He smiled and stroked its head. “It’s okay. You can go to sleep now.”

Hearing its master’s words, Xile gave Qin Fang’s palm one last, determined lick before lying down on the ground and closing its eyes.

It allowed the Demon Essence to surge freely through its body.

‘Exotic Species—at least those at the Extraordinary level—only had the instinct to use Demon Essence; they didn’t actually practice any cultivation methods.’

Watching Xile, who had quickly fallen into a deep slumber and was now snoring loudly, a soft light flickered in Qin Fang’s eyes…

‘Of all my old friends from True Martial, only Xile is still with me.’

Days passed, one after another.

Qin Fang didn’t focus on his own cultivation. Instead, he spent his days at the Hundred Herbs Courtyard.

He would also post the occasional teaching task… to see if a new crop of students for Mirror Flower Water Moon had sprouted.

As it turned out, a few had.

Though only a few dozen people signed up, it was still a decent turnout.

Many of these disciples were seeing Qin Fang for the first time, but they were all intimately familiar with his name.

“The greatest Talent in the Sect’s century-long history,” “The man who slaughtered ten thousand at Jiulian Island,” “The number one Famous Teacher among the True Inheritance disciples…”

They’d heard these titles so often their ears were practically calloused.

When they finally saw Qin Fang in person, they were all struck with awe. ‘He truly lives up to his title as a First Hall True Inheritance disciple!’

His looks and aura alone were captivating. Just by standing there, he naturally became the center of attention.

Amidst their awe, Qin Fang began his instruction.

Giving guidance on the entry-level Mirror Flower Water Moon was second nature to Qin Fang. By activating his Spiritual Eyes and supplementing them with his Divine Sense, he could easily pinpoint each disciple’s problems.

The effectiveness of his teaching was even greater than it had been years ago.

In just one class, he could guide nearly every disciple to a successful breakthrough into the entry-level.

Achieving the entry-level for the Body Technique Leaf Skill, just as expected, sent the disciples into a frenzy of excitement… they could fly.

For the first time, the concept of stepping into the Extraordinary realm felt real to them.

‘Truth be told, wasn’t I the exact same way back in the day?’

The thrill of that first flight was a truly indescribable wonder.

Time slipped by, and before he knew it, another year’s Martial Arts Examination had begun. Once again, Qin Fang was tasked with being the Guide.

This being his second time in the role, Qin Fang was completely at ease.

He guided the new disciples through their initiation, completed the ceremony…

Seeing the excitement and hope shining in the new disciples’ eyes, the corners of Qin Fang’s mouth turned up in a small smile.

‘Before he knew it, a strange feeling had come over him.’

‘The Elders were always so kind to me… Could it be that they felt this way, too?’

The bizarre thought popped into his head.

After a moment of shock, he gave a wry smile.

‘Am I getting old?’

‘No, that’s not right. I’m only in my thirties! With the lifespan of a Divine Illumination Realm cultivator, I should live for at least six hundred years!’

‘Can’t be thinking like that! I’ve got to stop!’

Shaking his head, he drifted away gracefully.

During this time, Qin Fang had completely pushed his cultivation to the back of his mind. He would only meditate on occasion, and his progress with both his Root Skill and Leaf Skill had stalled…

But he was in high spirits. He quite enjoyed this relaxed, unhurried pace of life.

‘The past ten years have been so tense. I need to relax a little.’

He continued to enjoy this leisurely life until the day his Master suddenly sent for him, summoning him to the Guiyuan Main Hall.

“Linyuan, get ready. You’re coming with me to Jinlan Prefecture shortly.”

The moment he arrived at the Main Hall, Master Fan spoke, his expression grim.

Qin Fang froze. ‘Jinlan Prefecture?’

Seeing his master’s solemn expression, he frowned. “Master, what’s happened?”
