Chapter 111: Chapter 96: A Perfect Blast, Piggy Dragon and Catfish Demon Vanquished

It pierced through layers of flesh and muscle, snapping the ribs and driving straight for the spine!

A terrifying bite force erupted in an instant, threatening to sever the mangled torso in two!

However, just as its jaw muscles contracted to their absolute limit, in the very instant before its fangs could fully clamp shut and annihilate everything...

CLANG!

Several of its sharpest front fangs touched something hard, cold, and smooth.

Something utterly different from the warm flesh and fragile bones it expected.

The Piggy Dragon’s mind was simple and savage; it paid no mind.

’Perhaps it’s a large, undigested rock?’

’The stupid creature eats anything.’

Before its jaws, powerful enough to bite through Iron Armor, everything was dust.

And so, it didn’t hesitate in the slightest.

The last of its jaw’s strength erupted, and it slammed its mouth shut!

BOOM-RUMBLE-RUMBLE!!!

An indescribably terrifying explosion.

It detonated violently within the sealed chamber of its closed mouth, the space between its teeth and palate!

This wasn’t the loud report of ordinary explosives detonating on the surface or in the open air.

This was the sound of destructive Energy, hyper-compressed within water, flesh, and bone...

...unleashing a savage roar as it found its only escape!

The sound was as muffled as thousands of mines detonating in the deep, yet as sharp as the death cry of a primeval behemoth!

The Piggy Dragon’s massive maw, opened to nearly one hundred eighty degrees, became the first casualty.

In one-thousandth of a second, its upper jaw—along with the thick bone plate and scales covering it—was hit by an irresistible force erupting from within and was completely blown off, torn apart, and pulverized!

Fragments of its dark green Scale Armor, ghastly white bone splinters, scarlet flesh, and broken fangs...

...all mixed with high-pressure gas bubbles and a Scorching metallic jet, like some gruesome, utterly cruel flower of flesh.

It blossomed violently in the gloomy depths!

But this was only the beginning.

The shockwave and superheated metallic jet from the explosion were not spent within its mouth.

They surged down its throat and esophagus, madly flooding into the comparatively fragile cranial cavity, the junction of its cervical vertebrae, and its chest cavity...

CRACK! CRUNCH! SQUELCH! SPLAT!

The scalp-numbing sounds of shattering bone, tearing muscle, and rupturing organs...

...came as thick and fast as a torrential rain hammering against roof tiles.

A symphony of death played out within the Piggy Dragon’s skull and the front half of its torso!

The Piggy Dragon’s dark gold, vertical pupils, once filled with brutality and coldness, abruptly dilated to their limit the instant the brilliant flash of the explosion appeared.

Its pupils reflected its own shattered jaw and the destructive flames.

Then, the light within them swiftly dimmed, faded, and broke apart...

...finally becoming two turbid orbs, devoid of all life.

Its head, massive as a mountain, was like a watermelon smashed from the inside with a giant hammer.

Starting from its mouth and nose, cracks spiderwebbed across its entire head in an instant.

BANG!

It exploded completely!

Red, white, green, black...

Tissues, fluids, and fragments of every color...

...mixed with the lingering fire of the explosion, sprayed violently in all directions!

Its headless, twitching, colossal body lost all its strength.

Like a collapsing mountain, it sank slowly and askew toward the riverbed.

It finally slammed into the thick silt, kicking up a murky, yellowish-brown mushroom cloud of mud and sand.

Slowly burying all traces of the bloody, cruel scene.

「On the water’s surface.」

The Ironclad Ship rocked violently in the massive waves triggered by that final, thunderous underwater explosion.

The hull groaned as if overburdened, nearly capsizing.

Several Water Patrol Officers were caught off guard and thrown from their feet, only saving themselves by desperately grabbing onto ropes or the ship’s gunwale.

Just as the experienced old helmsman managed to stabilize the vessel, it was still swaying from side to side.

Still reeling from the shock, their faces deathly pale, the crew stared intently at the dark surface of the River below.

The next moment, as if a spring had erupted from the riverbed...

Vast swathes of a deep, dark red—so thick it seemed impossible to dilute—mixed with grayish-white bone fragments, dark green scales, and suspicious, stringy bits of matter...

...welled up from just downstream of the ship, rapidly staining a huge patch of the River’s surface.

The thick, nauseating stench of blood was unmistakable, even in the cold night wind.

GLUG... GLUG...

Several huge bubbles rose from the bloody water and burst, releasing an even thicker, foul stench.

Then they saw the sundered corpse of the Catfish Demon float to the surface.

It was followed by the Piggy Dragon’s upper jaw, which had been blasted clean off.

Seeing these two things, each bigger than a truck...

Everyone gasped.

Then, a surprised realization dawned on them.

The two great monsters that had plagued the Canglan River had now been dealt with.

「Tonight.」

All three of the demonic creatures in the Canglan River had been eliminated by their Water Patrol Bureau.
