Chapter 91 - 92: 5th Layer Iron Cloth Shirt, 4 Strands of Force
Chapter 91: Chapter 92: 5th Layer Iron Cloth Shirt, 4 Strands of Force
Yellow Stone City.
After months of suppressing the rebellion, the city had finally regained its former peace, though the streets and alleys remained desolate.
The County Magistrate’s Office.
It was now occupied by the Iron Armor Army, led by Ten Thousand Men Commander Hong Yue.
STEP STEP STEP.
The sound of footsteps echoed as a soldier marched into the County Magistrate’s Office. He dropped to one knee and announced, "My Lord, a letter from Tao Dingfang."
Seated on the raised platform was a man in black robes. Judging solely by his face, he appeared gentle and scholarly, but his burly, nearly two-meter-tall physique completely contradicted any impression of refinement.
"Bring it here."
Hong Yue set down his documents and spoke in a booming voice.
The soldier quickly rose and presented the letter. Hong Yue opened it, a faint smile appearing on his face. "Haha, Dingfang has brought me good news."
With that, he handed the letter to a middle-aged man standing nearby. The man stroked his long beard and nodded. "You are absolutely right, My Lord. Dingfang has not disappointed your expectations."
"Haha..." Hong Yue let out a hearty laugh. He stood up, his towering figure looming like a small mountain in the soldier’s eyes.
"We’ve mostly wrapped things up here. Since Dingfang has resolved the crisis in White Stone City, we might as well head over there. If we’re lucky, we might even run into the remnants of the Rebirth Sect and wipe them out once and for all," Hong Yue said.
"Understood!" the middle-aged man agreed. Having received his orders, the soldier turned and left.
Medicine Town.
Tongshan Hall.
"I can finally binge on medicine. I wonder how the Blood Boiling Powder compares to the Qi and Blood Powder!"
Su Chen stared at the freshly brewed Blood Boiling Powder before him, his eyes flashing with anticipation.
"According to the deaf-mute man, the Blood Boiling Powder is much more potent than ordinary Qi Blood Medicine," he muttered to himself. "It is specifically suited for a Power Training Martial Artist. Generally, a Power Training Martial Artist only needs to consume one dose a day. Taking any more would overwhelm the body and cause internal damage."
Heeding the deaf-mute man’s warning, Su Chen had not brewed an excessive amount. He had only prepared this single dose.
Picking up the bowl of Blood Boiling Powder, Su Chen took a small sip before downing the rest in one gulp. The moment the liquid slid down his throat, waves of heat surged within him, leaving a fiery burning sensation in their wake.
The effects of the Blood Boiling Powder were far more ferocious than those of the Qi and Blood Powder. In the past, it would take at least three doses of the latter to produce such an intense reaction.
He hadn’t expected to feel a comforting warmth spreading wherever the medicine flowed after just a single dose.
Once the concoction settled in his stomach, Su Chen let out a satisfied shout, "Refreshing!" He set the bowl down and carefully monitored the changes in his body.
At first, there was only a lingering heat. However, it wasn’t long before Su Chen noticed his skin flushing red, while faint wisps of white steam seemingly rose from his head.
"So intense!"
Su Chen gasped, truly grasping the potency of the Blood Boiling Powder. It felt as though nine furious bulls were roaring within his body.
Fortunately, given his current strength and constitution, he experienced no adverse effects other than the extreme heat. His body was entirely capable of withstanding a single dose of the Blood Boiling Powder.
"One dose of Blood Boiling Powder pushed my panel’s progress straight to one-tenth, which is equivalent to five doses of Qi and Blood Powder. This is incredibly powerful!"
After a moment, Su Chen willed the panel to appear. It displayed:
[Martial Arts: ...Iron Cloth Shirt - Incomplete (Level 4: 10%)]
[Simple Mode: ...Iron Cloth Shirt - Incomplete: 0 times (Limit Thunderbolt Leg + Limit Wind Chasing Step + 5/50 doses of Qi and Blood Powder/time)]
"At this rate, I only need ten doses of Blood Boiling Powder to max out the progress, and I happen to have exactly ten doses on hand right now."
As his internal Qi Blood gradually stabilized, Su Chen pondered, "My body hasn’t reached its limit yet, but if I continue taking the Blood Boiling Powder right now, my body might not be able to handle it. Since I can’t take another dose immediately, I’ll wait a while before trying again."
By evening, Su Chen felt his body was ready to handle another dose. He brewed a second bowl of Blood Boiling Powder. After drinking it, he experienced the same fiery sensation as he had that morning. The medicinal efficacy was nearly identical.
Su Chen guessed that the effects remained the same because the time interval was relatively short. Otherwise, based on his past experiences, the second dose’s efficacy should have noticeably diminished.
However, he didn’t pay it much mind. Instead, he continued practicing his punches and palm strikes to digest the medicinal energy. It wasn’t until around ten o’clock at night that Su Chen brewed his third dose of Blood Boiling Powder.
At this point, even with the time gap, he could clearly feel that his body was struggling to bear the massive medicinal energy. Fortunately, Su Chen managed to endure it, though the intense session kept him awake until very late into the night.
Around nine o’clock the next morning, Su Chen repeated his routine, sticking to three doses of Blood Boiling Powder a day. He continued this regimen until the morning of the fourth day, when he finally began brewing his last dose.
After three days of consumption, the panel’s progress had advanced to the equivalent of forty-five doses of Qi and Blood Powder. He was only one dose away from maxing out the progress, which would allow him to fuse the Thunderbolt Leg and the Wind Chasing Step.
He eagerly anticipated just how much his strength would increase once he fused these two martial arts.
The final dose went down easily. The panel shifted accordingly, showing that the progress bar was completely full.
The moment it changed, Su Chen instantly felt a shiver run through his entire body. A surge of force abruptly generated in his feet, rushing upward from his soles into his body.
"Finally... four layers of force!"
Su Chen’s face lit up with joy, but as he carefully sensed his internal state, his smile gradually faded. "What a pity. The force still hasn’t entered my internal organs."
He had assumed that with four streams of force within him, he could easily guide the energy to enter and temper his internal organs. However, after several attempts, he found it impossible.
"However, I haven’t reached my limit yet. The Iron Cloth Shirt can still be upgraded. It requires four hundred taels of silver, and I have over three thousand taels on me, which is more than enough. In that case... Panel, Krypton Gold. Activate Simple Mode."
After a brief moment of disappointment, Su Chen’s fighting spirit reignited, and he shifted his focus back to the panel.
After using it for so long, Su Chen had gained a basic understanding of the panel’s fusion function. Fusing a Cultivation Technique generally only increased the quantity of force, rather than enhancing its quality.
When he didn’t need to fuse a Cultivation Technique and only used Krypton Gold, it would enhance the quality of his force instead.
As soon as the thought crossed his mind, the panel’s notification chimed:
[Simple Mode Activated: Bathe in warm water for one hour to train the Iron Cloth Shirt - Incomplete to Level 5.]
Wasn’t that just soaking in a hot bath? Without another word, Su Chen immediately started boiling water.
Once the water was ready, Su Chen submerged himself in the hot tub. Resting with his eyes closed, he quietly watched the progress bar steadily jump.
An hour quickly passed. The instant the panel shifted, the four streams of force within Su Chen’s body transformed alongside it.
BOOM!
The moment he unleashed his force, the massive wooden bathtub could no longer bear the pressure. It suddenly exploded, sending bathwater splashing all over the floor.
Yet, there wasn’t a trace of panic on Su Chen’s face. Instead, it was replaced by a look of sheer delight.
