Chapter 425: Chapter 348: Breakthrough

The three vanguards whose names had been called all looked at Zelir in surprise.

"Zelir... are you going to..."

Kilian seemed to have realized something.

A heart-stopping wave of Magic Power emanated from Zelir.

The surrounding air hummed as a light breeze billowed through his robes and stirred his bangs.

’Could it be... does Zelir still have a trick up his sleeve?’

Kilian met Zelir’s gaze, and Zelir gave a slight nod.

"I can give it a try... but I’ll need you to cover me."

Without a word or a hint of doubt, Marcus was the first to take a fighting stance.

He planted his Heavy Shield firmly in front of him.

Redia looked at Zelir, her initial surprise quickly replaced by trust and a bold confidence in her eyes.

"Don’t worry, Zelir!"

Redia raised a fist clad in a metal gauntlet at Zelir. "I’ll protect you!"

Kilian gave Zelir a long look. He hadn’t wanted to give up in the first place.

After seeing the resolve in Zelir’s eyes, Kilian gave a firm nod.

"Alright!"

"Everyone else, fall back immediately!"

Kilian loudly repeated Zelir’s earlier words.

"The rest of you, retreat to a safe distance! Marcus, Redia, and I will cover Zelir!"

Upon hearing this, the teammates exchanged glances and had no choice but to fall back.

They knew very well that there was nothing more they could do right now.

If it were up to them to find a solution, the only plan they would likely come up with was to retreat.

But...

’Could Mage Zelir really turn the tide?’

By contrast, Gray, Valles, and Hill didn’t look nearly as doubtful.

Especially Gray and Valles.

As teammates who had witnessed Zelir’s journey from catching wild wolves in the Gray Wood Forest to now facing a Nine-headed Dragon Snake, they were used to his feats.

They had long since grown accustomed to Zelir’s genius-level talent for Magic; you could even say they were numb to it.

They wouldn’t even be surprised if one day Zelir pulled a Magic spell out of his pants.

"Actually, I can cover Zelir too."

Gray, who had fallen back with the others, still looked eager for a fight. "We’re old teammates who’ve fought side-by-side, you know."

"He’s probably afraid you’ll get hurt," Adrian chimed in casually.

"He’s definitely afraid Gray will get hurt," Valles said, "because that would just be a waste of Zelir’s Magic Power."

"Tch..."

Gray looked indignant, but he couldn’t argue with that.

He had, in fact, taken the most injuries during the fight.

That Life Praise Silk Thread had been continuously channeling Magic Power to heal Gray; otherwise, he wouldn’t have had the confidence to keep fighting the Dragon Snake.

Hill gazed at Zelir’s back.

Their face was impassive, but deep inside, a strange worry began to surface.

Although Hill wasn’t a Mage and didn’t have a clear understanding of Magic Power reserves, they knew Zelir had already cast an incredible number of spells since the battle began.

He was healing four people at once, on top of casting all sorts of Amplification and Attack Magic.

And he had already unleashed that cataclysmic Magma Pillar twice.

’After consuming so much Magic Power... can he really still keep going?’

HUU...

He casually tossed the now-dull Medium Source Energy Crystal Stone to the ground; the Magic Power stored within was completely depleted.

Zelir took a new Source Energy Crystal Stone from his Storage Pouch and began a Magic Refill.

A faint, stabbing pain pricked at the depths of his sea of consciousness.

It was a warning against over-replenishing his Magic Power.

’But it’s fine... It’s bearable.’

Although his head throbbed with a stabbing pain, Zelir’s thoughts were exceptionally clear.

He had indeed consumed a vast amount of Magic Power in the fight so far.

Praise of Life, a series of Empowerment Magic spells, Fractal Fire, Flame Breath Skill, Gravity Singularity, and Magma Pillar twice.

He had already fully refilled his Magic Power once with a Medium Source Energy Crystal Stone.

’Right now, my Magic Power reserves are at about forty percent.’

’Forty percent...’

’Enough to cast Flame Thunder Spear once.’

’Without a doubt, it’s the most effective way to breach the Rock Dragon Snake’s freakishly high Defense Power.’

’But... it’s not enough.’

’A normal Flame Thunder Spear won’t be enough.’

’I have to guarantee a one-hit kill.’

’Make sure that a single strike kills the Rock Dragon Snake, completely and utterly.’

’There’s no room for a war of attrition. The team is exhausted from the long battle. If this doesn’t work, our only option is to retreat.’

’And that would just give the Nine-headed Dragon Snake time to recover.’

’The next time we come back, we’ll have to face a Nine-headed Dragon Snake with four special heads. The situation will be even more troublesome.’

’That leaves only one option.’

’Add Magic Harmony!’

’Magic Harmony, a Level Six Empowerment Magic, can boost my Magic Power Strength by nearly fifty percent.’

For the second time since the battle in the Underground Tomb, Zelir began to overdraw on Magic Power, pushing past his 100% capacity.

In the span of a thought, an Array shimmering with golden light materialized on the shattered ground around Zelir.

At Zelir’s command, the Array began to form.

Inside the circle, shimmering Arcane Circuits linked together one by one, tracing out profound and mysterious runes.

Standing in the center of the Array, Zelir felt the Magic Power in his body begin to sing with excitement, growing ever more restless.

It yearned to be unleashed, to pour out everything it had in one brilliant, final clash!

"This... This Array is..."

Far behind the front lines, Shaman’s eyes widened in disbelief. The hand gripping their Magic Wand started to tremble.

"Magic Harmony?!"

It was already shocking enough that Zelir could cast Praise of Life.

So what in the world was this Magic Harmony?

As an Empowerment Mage, no one present understood the rarity of Magic Harmony better than Shaman.
