Chapter 422: Chapter 346: Been Set Up (Part 2)

The instant the Dragon Snake lunged forward to bite, a putrid wind blasted out!

As they met, the Cloud Steel Sword precisely struck the gap on the left side of its massive maw!

The thin membrane connecting its upper and lower jaw was severed, but the Dragon Snake’s forward momentum didn’t stop!

The Cloud Steel Sword sliced through flesh before grinding against Snake Scale, erupting in a shower of violent sparks.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The razor-sharp Cloud Steel Sword, wreathed in Wind Fighting Qi, carved a gruesome, bleeding gash over ten meters long, stretching from the gap in the Dragon Snake’s jaw all the way down its body!

The Dragon Snake let out a long, pained shriek as its massive body crashed heavily to the ground.

A gash more than ten meters long ran down the left side of its body, starting from its mouth.

The wound hissed, spraying out foul-smelling snake blood.

Broken scales were mixed in with mangled flesh, and one could even see the muscles twitching spasmodically inside.

"Holy shit...!"

Valles, watching from the rear, was stunned.

Gray had a move like that up his sleeve?!

That last maneuver not only required incredible skill, but also the immense courage to face the Dragon Snake head-on.

One wrong move, and he would have been swallowed whole by the Dragon Snake!

Gray panted heavily, stumbling back two or three steps but managing to steady himself before he fell.

Blood dripped from the blade of his grounded sword, forming a small red puddle.

It wasn’t just the Dragon Snake’s blood; it was his own, too.

During the collision, which felt like two trains crashing, Gray had held onto his sword hilt with a death grip.

The webbing on both of his hands had been torn open, and the sword hilt was slick with blood, even dotted with flecks of flesh that had been scraped off.

It was a ghastly sight.

Praise of Life!

Threads of green light began to automatically heal Gray’s injuries.

Watching the mangled flesh of his hands knit itself back together, Gray actually started laughing, even as he panted for breath.

’Magic is just too damn useful...’

’With Zelir’s Magic Power backing me up, this is the first time I’ve been able to fight with such abandon, trading injury for injury.’

Valles and Hill seized the opportunity Gray had risked everything to create, pressing their attack on the grievously wounded Dragon Snake!

With a few nimble leaps, Hill followed up on bursting the Dragon Snake’s right eye by using a spiked weapon to blind its left.

Valles’s Thunder Arrow followed immediately after. His aim was true, and the arrow drilled right into the empty eye socket.

A brilliant flash of lightning erupted from within the Dragon Snake’s skull.

BANG!

The Thunder Fighting Qi exploded from the inside out, blowing off a piece of the serpent’s skull and sending a bloody mist into the air.

BOOM...!

Another dazzling flare of fire erupted, and the ground trembled slightly.

The trio on the flank reflexively shielded their faces before looking toward the main battlefield.

They were just in time to see the Magma Pillar giving the Frost Serpent Head a fiery facial.

"I thought it already took a pillar of fire... How can it withstand a second one?" Gray muttered.

After the Magma Pillar dissipated, the once-imperious Frost Serpent Head was reduced to a listless, pathetic state once more.

Its head was charred black, a truly miserable sight. Scales and scorched flesh were melted together, an indistinguishable mess.

Valles and Gray’s eyes widened slightly, and gasps of awe escaped their lips.

"Whoa...!"

"Stop gawking. Marcus is about to be killed."

Hill’s voice snapped them out of their shock. "Hurry and help him!"

Looking over, they saw Marcus still locked in a struggle with a regular Dragon Snake, and he was in a truly sorry state.

He was sticking to the principle of dodging rather than blocking, leaping and weaving all over the place.

But against the Dragon Snake’s wide sweeping attacks, he had no choice but to raise his Shield in defense.

CLANG! The thick body of the snake slammed into the Heavy Shield, the recoil leaving Marcus dazed.

The Dragon Snake opened its jaws to bite again, its maw wide enough to swallow Marcus whole.

CRUNCH! Its fangs bit down on either side of the Shield as it started to pull back.

This was where the Short Spear proved its worth.

"AHHHHHHH!!!"

Marcus roared, stabbing furiously!

SQUELCH! SQUELCH! SQUELCH!

Each thrust of the Short Spear punched a bloody hole in the Dragon Snake’s head.

If he had been using a Battle Saber, Marcus wasn’t sure he could have pierced the Snake Scale’s defenses.

"AARGH...!"

Finally feeling the pain, the Dragon Snake released the Shield it had been biting.

「Meanwhile, on the right side of the battlefield.」

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!!!

The Flaming Dragon Snake was like a bomber, frantically dropping what looked like napalm onto the ground.

It continuously spat things resembling Blast Flame Bombs from its mouth, using its aerial advantage to carpet-bomb Kilian’s squad.

Ranger Joel occasionally fired back with a Combat Energy Arrow.

They were surprisingly lethal, able to pierce the Snake Scales and blast open bloody holes the size of a washbasin.

But Joel’s ranged attacks were on a completely different level from the Flaming Dragon Snake’s.

After being deliberately targeted with two Blast Flame Bombs, Joel had to grab his Longbow and make a clumsy retreat to find a relatively safer position.

"AHHHH! My hair!"

Swordsman Fletcher’s black hair was on fire.

He ran around with his head ablaze before finally diving headfirst into a puddle on the ground.

TSSSSSS! A cloud of white smoke billowed up as the fire was finally extinguished.

Even the formidable Kilian couldn’t spare any attention for the Flaming Dragon Snake.

He was having his hands full fighting two of the regular Dragon Snakes.

After batting one snake away with the Shield in his left hand, he had to use the Knight’s Heavy Sword in his right to deal with another charging Dragon Snake.

On a battlefield nearly consumed by flames, Rolin once again cast the Level Six Magic: Waterfall.

A wide wall of water crashed down, dousing many of the fires and mitigating the explosive effect of the Blast Flame Bombs.

Then, she aimed her Magic Wand at the Flame Serpent Head and began tracing an extremely complex Spell Structure.

This was her signature move!

Four Level Multi-layered Spell Structure Magic: Water Prison!

In an instant, a massive amount of water converged from all directions, rushing straight for the Flaming Dragon Snake.

The currents swirled around the Flame Serpent Head, rapidly weaving themselves into a large, spherical water prison.

The moment the prison took shape, high-pressure jets of water, sharp as swords, erupted from all angles to strike their target!

The highly compressed water possessed incredible destructive power.

Just like Water of Cutting, it could pierce even hard rock or steel Armor!

If a person were trapped in the Water Prison, a single jet would likely blast them into a bloody pulp.

Even a fully armored Warrior trapped inside would be destroyed by the omnidirectional assault.

Having transferred a portion of its Magic Power to the Frost Dragon Snake, the Flaming Dragon Snake no longer possessed the same terrifying, overwhelming force it had before.

Inside Rolin’s Water Prison, the compressed, highly piercing jets of water struck relentlessly!

The kinetic energy of the water, combined with the magical impact it contained, was causing the Flaming Dragon Snake immense suffering.

Each incoming jet was one or two meters thick, spinning as it slammed violently against the surface of its scales.

The water extinguished its flames, the impacts shattered its Snake Scales, and the force tore apart the flesh underneath.

The Flaming Dragon Snake could only thrash its body wildly and let out shrill, furious roars.

A series of HISSING sounds echoed from within the prison, like a red-hot branding iron being plunged into water.

The soft flesh beneath its scales was sliced open, and its blood was washed away by the currents, dyeing the entire Water Prison a pale red.

This continued for some time, until a great red light flared and the prison shook violently.

The Flaming Dragon Snake had finally shattered the Water Prison with a Flame Burst!

SPLASH! The water rained down like a torrential downpour.

The Flame Serpent Head was now looking weak and listless.

After the relentless bombardment inside the Water Prison, the flames on many of its Snake Scales had been extinguished.

Where its Snake Scales had been shattered by the high-pressure jets, its flesh was riddled with gory, penetrating wounds.

Blood gushed from the wounds, only to be instantly evaporated into clouds of red mist by its own intense heat.

The Flame Serpent Head glanced at the battle with the Frost Dragon Snake, but the situation was not what it had expected.

’The Magic Power I just sent over was meant to help the Frost Serpent Head recover.’

’But now, the Frost Dragon Snake has been blasted half to death by that Human Mage again!’

’Wasn’t my Magic Power a complete waste?!’

’And things were getting even worse.’

’Even the Shadow Dragon Snake was starting to falter.’

’The Mage in the center was clearly preparing an extremely destructive Light Element Magic spell.’

’When that spell hits, the Shadow Dragon Snake won’t be able to take it, either.’

’These damn humans...’

’These damn humans!’

Fury pulsed in its heart, along with a sense of stifled, humiliating frustration.

’All three fronts were being completely countered by their corresponding Attributes!’

’They clearly came prepared!’

’If only I were in my complete form...’

’If only I were in my complete form...!’

’This pack of humans would never dare stand before me like this!’
