Chapter 417: Chapter 344: Mages Are Always the Protagonists

Zelir, Adrian, and Rolin.

The three Mages, each in their respective sectors of the battlefield, simultaneously prepared their opening volley of Magic.

Near the rightmost cave, in Rolin’s sector, the air suddenly grew thick and humid.

A large, clear sphere of water appeared before Rolin.

She gave a light wave of her Magic Wand, hastening the spell.

Under the influence of her Magic Power, the sphere of water split into more than a dozen long, azure Water Swords, their tips all aimed at the cave.

A burst of light erupted before Adrian.

Amid the flowing, intertwining halos, the sphere of light rapidly transformed, coalescing into an intensely pure white Energy Arrow.

Beneath Technique Celestial Calculation, two new analysis tasks appeared.

Chaotic Flow Dance, Analysis Progress—10%.

Light Arrow, Analysis Progress—10%.

Both of these were Level Five Magic, with Spell Structures considered to be quite complex.

But now that Zelir’s Intelligence Attribute was so much higher, his speed at analyzing Magic had also begun to increase rapidly.

Even for a Level Five Magic spell, he could get 10% initial progress the moment he added it to the queue.

At the leftmost cave, several Fireballs also materialized before Zelir.

The appearance of the Fireballs sent the surrounding temperature soaring, dispelling and evaporating the bone-chilling cold before the cave entrance!

WHOOSH!

With a whistling sound, the Magic of the three Middle Level Mages shot into the dark depths of the caves.

And then...

BOOM!!!

A chorus of overlapping explosions erupted at the same time!

Visible, ring-shaped shockwaves blasted out from the three cave mouths!

By the time the sound waves reached the outside, they had transformed into a physical impact.

The internal explosions caused the entire mountain and the ground to tremble.

A tyrannical aura spread out, heavy and oppressive.

Something lurking deep within the caves had been disturbed...!

Pebbles bounced on the ground. The entire area felt like the calm before a storm!

Soon, in the wake of the initial magical explosions, a savage roar rang out!

ROAR!!!

The trembling of the pebbles on the ground grew more and more violent, like water splattering in a pan of hot oil.

The squad members felt as if they were at the epicenter of a small earthquake, the world spinning around them.

"It’s coming...!"

Marcus tightened his grip on his spear and Shield.

The smell of wrought iron mixed with sweat was reassuring.

No matter what, this suit of metal Armor and his Heavy Shield were his best protection.

The oppressive presence from within the cave grew stronger, and a thick, acrid stench poured out, even overpowering the mountain wind outside.

Cracks spiderwebbed across the rock face, and stone fragments pattered down.

Marcus had just briefly raised his Shield for cover.

When he lowered it again, three pairs of cold, savage, vertical-pupiled Snake Eyes were already gleaming from the darkness of the cave before him.

And they were rapidly growing larger in his vision!

"It’s here!!!"

Marcus bellowed, his voice laced with terror.

The expressions of the other team members all turned grim.

As his roar faded, the rock face suddenly trembled violently!

BANG!!!

Three giant snakes burst forth from each of the three caves!

Chaotic shadows fell over everyone!

Their bodies were incredibly thick, reaching a terrifying five to six meters in diameter, and were covered in cold, hard, gray-black scales.

What’s more, the visible portions of their bodies extending from the caves were nearly a hundred meters long!

Their massive bodies twisted in mid-air like frenzied, dancing dragons!

Their Snake Eyes held a cold and savage gaze.

They opened their great maws, letting out a piercing shriek!

Everyone instinctively clapped their hands over their ears, afraid the shriek would be loud enough to make them bleed.

Three caves, nine giant snakes.

Only their bodies were visible, not their tails.

The [Cruelty]-rated Demon, the Nine-headed Dragon Snake, had finally revealed its monstrous form!

Zelir looked up at the three snake heads reared high before his squad.

Fierce, colossal, and brimming with the most primeval savagery!

They were triangular, scale-covered heads looking down on them all, their Snake Eyes flashing with undisguised killing intent!

Though they were not true dragons, their imposing might still weighed heavily on everyone’s hearts!

Zelir felt firsthand the oppressive pressure of a [Cruelty]-rated Demon.

Of the three Dragon Snakes his squad was responsible for annihilating, two had ordinary gray-black scales.

The remaining one, however, was completely different.

Its entire head and neck were covered in a thick layer of translucent frost!

With every breath, it spewed a stream of azure cold from its nostrils, causing the very water droplets in the air to condense into tiny Ice Crystals.

A special Frost Serpent Head!

Zelir glanced quickly to the side, noticing the special snake heads that had emerged from the other two caves as well.

In the central battleground, one of the three Dragon Snakes facing the Adrian Squad was pitch-black, its scales seeming to absorb all light.

A flowing, veil-like layer of ominous shadow also swirled around its body!

The Shadow Head!

And on the rightmost battlefield, among the three heads faced by Kilian’s squad, there was also an anomaly.

It snorted a fiery-red stream of air from its nostrils, and a scorching, orange-red light continuously seeped out from between its scales!

The Flame Head!

’The intel was completely correct!’

"Attack!" Kilian roared.

The battle erupted in an instant.

At the very rear of the battlefield, hiding in the Forest Area, the Recorder Zanxi immediately activated her Recording Crystal.

On its translucent surface, every single movement before her was being recorded.

It was her first time witnessing a battle of this level; her throat felt dry, and she couldn’t help but clench her fists.
