My Lust System: I Inherited The Sin Of Lust And His Three Wives
Chapter 474: Confronting Sol
Damain entered the corridor and found Kor standing beside the door, his back straight and his hands respectfully folded before him. The moment Damain stepped out and began walking, Kor fell into step beside him, though the hint of disbelief in his expression was impossible to hide. He had guarded the prince long enough to understand how difficult Amon was to deal with.
The former Minister of War was proud, ancient, intelligent, and powerful enough that even many noble families treated him with caution. Yet less than a day after Damain had spoken to him in the dungeon, the man had submitted completely.
"Sire... How did you manage to get Amon to submit to you?" Kor finally asked, curiosity overcoming his restraint.
In terms of family background, Amon possessed far more prestige than the Kosak family and was considered one of the more influential figures in Velmora. Even before becoming a demon, he had been an ancient fallen angel with mysterious abilities that many demons still did not fully understand. Despite the discrimination he had endured because of his origin, he had managed to gather tens of thousands of demons beneath his banner and command their loyalty for years. For such a man to kneel before Damain after only a few conversations was something Kor could barely comprehend.
"You shouldn’t concern yourself with that," Damain replied with a casual shrug, his exhaustion making his voice sound even more indifferent than usual. "Did you get them?"
Kor seemed visibly disappointed that he would not hear the answer, but he quickly pushed those feelings aside and nodded.
"Yes, sire. I made sure none of them escaped."
Damain nodded in satisfaction and continued down the corridor. The palace was quieter than usual, with most of the servants and guards keeping their distance after the events of the day. Yet after taking several more steps, Damain noticed that Kor had slowed behind him. When he glanced over his shoulder, he immediately caught the uneasiness in the young demon’s face.
Damain stopped, his eyes narrowing slightly. "What is it?"
Kor flinched. It truly felt as though nothing could be hidden from this man. Even when Damain appeared distracted, he seemed to notice the smallest changes in the people around him.
"I... Among the people we detained, two of them were humans."
Damain’s eyes narrowed for a brief moment, but the tension disappeared from his expression almost immediately. He simply nodded as though Kor had informed him about an ordinary matter.
"Very well. I’ll interrogate all of them tomorrow."
Kor bowed deeply. "Understood, sire."
Damain nodded and resumed walking, but after only a few steps, he stopped again. Kor looked up in confusion as Damain turned toward him and slowly opened his palm. A translucent bow spun into existence above his hand, its elegant frame formed from pale spiritual energy while faint demonic patterns crawled across its surface. Kor’s eyes widened immediately.
He recognized the weapon at once. This was the demigod weapon Damain had taken from Rah when they fought on Earth.
"Take it," Damain said. "Using bows has never been my thing."
The bow flew from his hand, and Kor instinctively caught it. The moment his fingers closed around the weapon, his body stiffened as he felt the immense power contained within it. His expression became a mixture of shock, confusion, and hesitation.
"Sire... Why don’t you give it back to my sister?"
Damain shook his head. "What man would want to see his woman fight?"
Kor’s eyes widened even further.
Damain turned around and began walking away, his voice remaining casual despite the weight of his words. "I’m giving it to you so that you can make sure she never has to lift a finger again."
Kor remained standing in the corridor, staring at the weapon in his hands while Damain’s figure gradually disappeared around the corner. For several moments, he could not even process what had happened.
A small smile eventually appeared on Kor’s face as his grip around the bow tightened.
"You really do know how to take care of the people around you, do you, sire."
Several minutes later, Damain returned to his room and shut the doors behind him before walking directly toward the bed. The moment his body touched the soft mattress, he collapsed onto it without even bothering to change his clothes. The events of the day replayed through his mind one after another.
Today had truly been one of the most stressful days of his life.
Pfft!
Rin appeared beside the bed in a small puff of smoke and immediately used one of his tails to smack Damain lightly across the face.
"Good job," he said.
Damain groaned and rolled away from him. He had no time or energy to bother himself with Rin today. Even speaking felt like work.
"You know, this is the first time I actually think we have a shot at winning this race for the Abyssal Throne," Rin admitted.
Damain’s eyes opened slowly. He turned his head slightly toward the fox. "What changed your mind?"
"You, of course." Rin’s voice carried an unusual seriousness as he sat beside him. "You are no longer the same human I had to tutor in the private room of a yacht back on Earth. You are now a man capable of making sound decisions even when surrounded by madness. Lin Qui was fortunate to have you as his successor."
Damain remained silent as he listened. The words were strangely comforting, though he refused to show it. After Rin finished speaking, he simply shut his eyes again and allowed himself to enjoy the rare silence of the room. His body relaxed, and for what felt like a peaceful eternity, his mind drifted without fear, strategy, or responsibility weighing on it.
Then Damain’s eyes opened again.
The ceiling above him was gone. He found himself standing before the familiar courtyard he had become increasingly familiar with, surrounded by the strange spiritual architecture of Sol’s inner realm. The atmosphere carried the same suffocating pressure as always, and ahead of him sat the golden haired man upon his throne while the massive golden maned lion rested beside it.
Damain frowned. "Really? Pulling someone out of his home at this time of the night. Some of us sleep at night, you know?"
Sol chuckled and casually waved a hand. "Well, I would have called you over during the daytime if it wasn’t for the fact that my spies never got back to me. I had to learn about your cruelty through spies scattered across other realms."
Damain raised a brow at those words before flicking his wrist. His fox themed throne exploded into existence behind him, and he casually fell back into it before crossing his legs.
"Then you should train better spies who won’t be caught so easily. If a mere Demigod like me can do it, think about what the other princes are capable of."
Sol’s brows narrowed slightly while Leo’s eyes slowly opened. Sol seemed prepared to respond, but he stopped midway when he noticed the lion rising from the ground.
"Damian, what is it you desire?" Leo asked calmly, his massive body moving forward as his serious gaze settled on him. "You ruthlessly turned your own generals into a cursed weapon but showed mercy to the soldiers and civilians. I still fail to grasp your true intent."
Damain looked at Leo as though the answer was painfully obvious. "By brutally ending the lives of the generals, I gave them fear, and by giving them a chance to swear loyalty to me, I gave them a way out. If I only gave them death, who is going to stop the eighty four legions in my capital from running rampant? You?"
Leo’s eyes narrowed as he stared deeply at Damain, silently processing the answer. Sol, on the other hand, burst into laughter and slapped his thigh with genuine amusement. News of Damain turning six Demigods into a cursed weapon was already spreading throughout the Underworld, and even among the more ancient demons, the act had caused considerable shock. It was the first time someone had publicly demonstrated such disregard for one of the deepest taboos of demon society.
"I heard they burned for an hour and you made everyone watch," Sol said with amusement.
"An hour and a half, actually," Damain replied with a chuckle.
However, Leo moved again, placing his massive body slightly between Sol and Damain as his expression hardened.
"What about your Minister of War and Grand Chancellor? What are your plans for them? I heard the Council sent envoys to meet you."
Damain’s amusement faded immediately. "You hear quite a lot. It’s beginning to bother me." His gaze turned cold as he leaned back against his throne. "Maybe I should extend my hunt for spy networks beyond the capital."
"It is our duty to pay attention to what’s happening in Velmora," Leo replied with a low growl. "So that you don’t make a mistake we would all regret."
Damain slowly leaned forward, and his eyes began revealing a fierce violet glow. "Well then, why don’t you just come and take the crown instead, since you are so interested in what I do?"
The entire royal court fell silent.
Even the ministers and attendants listening from beyond the distant doors froze as shock spread across their faces. Damain had barely begun ruling Velmora, yet he was already openly challenging the authority of Sol’s divine beast inside Sol’s own realm.
The Prince of Lust was truly as insane as the rumors claimed!!!
