Chapter 868: Chapter 858: Whoever Interrupts My Son’s Romance Shall Be Executed!

Throughout the whole day, Su Qing woke up twice, took a couple of sips of water, and went back to sleep.

If the doctor hadn’t said he was fine, the family members here might have been terrified.

In the evening, Zhou Hui felt sorry for her future daughter-in-law, Shen Yi, and sent her home, telling her to get some sleep. Old Su also went home because he had to work the next day, leaving Zhou Hui to stay and take care of things.

Zhou Hui spent the night sleeping on the sofa next to the hospital bed, never really sleeping soundly, opening her eyes occasionally to check on her son, afraid that he might wake up hungry.

Although she didn’t say it, she was the one who worried about Su Qing the most. A mother, whose son hadn’t eaten all day, couldn’t help but worry.

But she knew she couldn’t be irritable or lose her temper. After all, both Shen Yi and her husband had their jobs, and the burdens on their shoulders were heavier than hers. Being the only idle person at home, who else would help if not her?

Heaven doesn’t let down those who are diligent, and at six o’clock the next morning, Su Qing finally woke up, asking for water.

"Son, you’re awake, that’s great! Tell Mom what you want to eat, and I’ll buy it for you!"

After drinking water, Zhou Hui immediately hugged her precious son tightly, feeling she had been scared to death.

"Mom... Mom... easy, quick... quick!"

"Quick what, son? Speak up!"

"Help me up, quick!"

"Son, you need to rest well and can’t get out of bed. I’ll go find the doctor!"

With that, Zhou Hui rushed out in a hurry.

Starving almost to the point of sticking to his back, Su Qing had slept nearly the entire day and two nights. His whole body felt wet like he’d been in the rain, slightly feverish, and weak, yet he insisted on getting up.

This time he was really walking while holding onto the walls, all because his bladder was about to burst. Luckily, he hadn’t drunk much water, or he would have unlocked the achievement of wetting the bed at 23.

When his mother Zhou Hui returned with the doctor, she caught Su Qing just coming out of the restroom and quickly pressed him back onto the bed.

"How are you feeling now?" asked a reliable-looking, bald doctor in a white lab coat.

"Hungry... hungry, my head feels a bit dizzy, and I think I have a fever!"

Holding his stomach, Su Qing said with a pained expression, his voice slightly hoarse. He had no recollection of how he got to the hospital.

But he knew now wasn’t the time to dwell on that, as it was obvious Lin Chengcai and the others had found him.

Before losing consciousness, he had sensed something wrong with himself and called Lin Chengcai, reporting his location.

Firstly to inform the police that he’d found the target, and secondly to have them save his life. Given the weather, with heavy rain, if he had fainted outdoors alone, he might not have died, but would have lost half his life.

"Feeling hungry is good, it’s a normal symptom since you haven’t eaten for more than a day." The doctor then reached out to feel his forehead: "Hmm, a bit warm, but much better than yesterday. After all, you got drenched in the rain upon arrival, soaked through. We’ll hang an IV drip and you’ll be fine."

Then, turning to Zhou Hui, he said, "It’s morning now, so prepare some porridge for him to pad his stomach. After the drip and when the fever subsides, we’ll conduct another check to see the situation."

"Alright, thank you, doctor, I’ll go now!"

"Son, you just lie down; Mom will get you porridge!" Zhou Hui then hurriedly ran out with a smile.

Once the doctor and his mom left, a young nurse soon came in and skillfully hung the IV drip for him.

Recognizing him, she even gave him an extra jab. That’s right, she missed the first attempt.

With his veins straight and thick, she managed to jab twice, and Su Qing thought she was doing it on purpose.

Anyway, when his mom Zhou Hui returned, the young nurse left with a flushed face.

"That young girl was quite striking, but too bad she came too late!"

Su Qing: ...

"Mom, your son doesn’t fall in love with every girl he meets, don’t be a jerk, alright!"

"Just drink your porridge, mind your own business." Zhou Hui handed him the porridge and buns, accompanied by a side dish.

Not caring about the heat, he grabbed a bun and started devouring it.

"I’ve already messaged your dad and Xiao Yi. Xiao Yi will be over soon, so behave yourself, don’t get involved with the young nurses here," his mom Zhou Hui said, sitting on the chair by the bedside with her legs crossed.

Though she slept last night, fatigue still lingered in her eyes.

Upon hearing this, Su Qing couldn’t help but roll his eyes, quickly drinking two sips of porridge to calm down: "Mom, do I look that mischievous to you?"

"Heh~~ I can’t say if you’re mischievous, but that young nurse left with a red face!"

"Her blushing has nothing to do with me!" Su Qing retorted.

Zhou Hui raised an eyebrow: "Yesterday, it was her who changed your bitter teas, didn’t it!"

Su Qing: "Pfft~"

"What... what nonsense?"

"Nothing, just kidding!"

Su Qing: ...

Honestly, his mom was quite rebellious, speaking so freely!

Perhaps seeing his improved state, Zhou Hui wasn’t as worried anymore, allowing her true personality to resurface.

"Mom, where’s my phone?"

"Isn’t that one on the bedside table?"

Su Qing: →_→

"That big phone of mine, and there’s only a SIM card left?" Su Qing looked puzzled at the phone card.

"Junjun said your phone soaked in more water than your brain did. Son, we can’t change brains, but if the phone should be changed, it should be. Xiao Yi said she would buy you one, so don’t worry."

Upon hearing this, Su Qing had the urge to faint and sleep for another day. Indeed, his rebellious mom was beyond his control.

In the past, he had some leverage, but now, Shen Yi’s position in his mom’s heart surpassed his, and it had returned to last year’s state.

More than half an hour later, the door to the hospital room was pushed open, and Shen Yi ran in, quickly spotting Su Qing leaning on the hospital bed. Her eyes instantly reddened.

"Ahem, well, Mom has something to do, I’ll be off, you two chat!"

With that, Zhou Hui quickly stood up to leave, giving Shen Yi a knowing wink at the doorway, everything understood without words.

Truth be told, his mom understood romance, at least in techniques, he was far behind her.

"Awake?"

"Yeah! Sorry to worry you, it won’t happen again." Su Qing’s tone softened as he saw Shen Yi’s reddened eyes.

No need to think to know what Shen Yi had gone through during this time.

"It’s all over now, right?"

"It’s over!"

"Not going anymore?"

"Not going, if I go again, I’ll resign!"

As soon as the words were out, Shen Yi threw herself on him, pressing down hard on his neck for a bite:

"That’s good, scared me to death, scared me to death, wah~~~"

Wailing, Shen Yi cried, leaving Su Qing slightly at a loss, so he just held her, patting her back.

Honestly, he’d never seen Shen Yi cry. A strong woman, now like a wronged little girl, finally venting with uncontrollable sobs. Yet he knew he truly couldn’t let her worry again.

Meanwhile, at the door, old Su rushed over upon hearing that his son had awakened, but his wife stopped him outside the door.

Hearing the cries inside, he couldn’t help but ask, "What’s going on, why is there crying, shouldn’t we go in!"

"Shh, quiet down, whoever hinders my son’s romance shall be executed!"

Old Su: ???
