My Kingdom Building Done Right!
Chapter 413: A Haughty Spirit Before A Fall [Part 2]
A blood-curdling roar reverberated across the tournament grounds as Zorren transformed into a Fenrirkin.
The black werewolf stood three meters tall, its eyes glowing golden as they locked onto its opponent.
How dare he cut off his tongue?
Thanks to the Fenrir’s strong regeneration ability, his tongue recovered. And the first thing it did after roaring was speak towards his opponent.
"I’ll tear you limb from limb, Jason of the Aslan Tribe!" Zorren shouted with fury. "I’ll make sure you’ll regret this day for the rest of your life!"
Jason ignored his opponent’s words and also transformed.
He turned into the White Wolf Sovereign, which also stood three meters tall. The two wolves then faced each other, both eager to rip each other to shreds.
Jason wasn’t wearing the armor and accessories that Leone had handed him earlier.
Right now, he wanted to push himself to the limit and better understand just how strong his own abilities had grown.
Leone didn’t say anything through telepathy and simply observed the battle with a calm look on his face. He trusted Jason. Plus, he knew that the young man would not allow himself to lose no matter what.
The two Alpha Monsters roared at the same time before charging at each other, their fangs and claws ready to strike.
The two clashed a few times, and during those times, the one pushed back was none other than Jason.
Just as Leone and Daedalus had expected, Zorren was stronger stat-wise.
But this exchange taught Jason one thing.
While his opponent was strong, he was faster!
This time, he didn’t meet Zorren’s attack head-on.
Instead, he dodged it before counter-attacking, landing a solid blow on the side of the Fenrirkin’s body.
Zorren staggered, but was quick to regain his balance. At that moment, Jason’s claws were already moving to sever his opponent’s head from his body.
But, Zorren’s bestial instincts kicked in, allowing him to gain a burst of speed. He raised his own claws and clashed against Jason’s.
Sparks flew as their claws clashed against each other. Using that momentum, Zorren opened his mouth and sank his fangs into Jason’s shoulder, drawing blood.
Tianna gasped and covered her lips at this sight. Meanwhile, Hagen sneered and clenched his fists tightly.
’It’s over!’ Hagen thought.
He knew that the moment Zorren had managed to successfully bite Jason’s body, he would not let him go no matter what!
Zorren was thinking of the same thing, already planning to rip off his opponent’s flesh and blood.
His bestial eyes glowed with power as his hands grabbed hold of Jason’s arms, holding him in place.
He had no intention of letting his opponent run away, knowing he might not get another chance like this.
However, a second later, Zorren’s mouth opened wide as his hands lost their grip on the White Sovereign’s body.
Why?
Because Jason had unleashed an attack that forced his opponent to cry out a breathless roar of pain that flooded his entire being.
When everyone thought that the battle was already over, Leone sent Jason a telepathic message.
"Crush his balls!" Leone ordered through telepathy.
Since Jason’s arms had been gripped tightly, they conveniently rested on a certain place Zorren must’ve forgotten.
No matter how strong he was.
No matter what beast he transformed to.
It didn’t change the fact that he was still a man!
Jason’s claws locked onto his target, grabbed it, and crushed it without holding back.
The moment his opponent’s grip loosened, he took a step back, grabbed Zorren’s shoulders, and then used his knee to obliterate what was left of his opponent’s dignity.
And he didn’t do it only once.
He did it four times in rapid succession, mustering every ounce of strength he had.
After using his healing ability on Troy, Leone understood that his healing skill had its limitations.
He couldn’t perfectly heal injuries, even if he used the skill several times. The most he could do was close the wound and increase his healing target’s regeneration ability.
Daedalus told him that once his Heal skill upgraded to Greater Heal, its effect would become stronger.
But that wasn’t the point.
Earlier, when he healed the representative of the Ironhide Tribe, Nolan, he realized that he also couldn’t heal his *ahem* completely.
Following that logic, the young chieftain believed that even with Zorren’s powerful regeneration ability, he couldn’t heal that part easily as well.
Jason didn’t even bat an eye when he heard his young chieftain order him to target his opponent’s family jewels.
He just went for it.
In his eyes, Zorren didn’t deserve to continue his bloodline anyway, so he might as well play the villain to accomplish that goal.
After all, this was a battle.
There was no such thing as fighting fair when both sides were trying to kill each other.
"Curse you!" Zorren hatefully roared at his opponent while enduring great pain. Right now, he couldn’t muster enough strength in his body, paralyzed in pain.
Jason growled and no longer held back.
At that moment, he equipped the Beowulf Armor, as well as the other accessories Leone had given him.
This made his stats, especially his strength, drastically increase.
Then, he grabbed hold of Zorren’s arms before planting his foot on the Fenrirkin’s chest.
Jason then pulled with everything he had, making Zorren cry out in pain.
The Fenrirkin’s muscles bulged as he desperately tried to resist. Yet, he couldn’t muster any strength in his body no matter how hard he tried.
"Stooooooooop!" Zorren shouted in pain, anger, frustration, and a little bit of fear. "Let me goooooooooooo!"
Unfortunately for him, Jason had no intention of stopping.
The moment he stepped into the arena, he had already planned to do this from the very start.
Everyone, who was watching the battle unfold, instinctively knew what was going to happen next.
With an anguished howl of pain, Zorren’s arms were torn off from his body.
Blood erupted from his shoulders, staining the ground with black blood.
The sight left the spectators frozen.
Just moments ago, Zorren had been dominating the exchange through sheer physical strength.
He had even managed to bite Jason’s shoulder, making everyone think the battle would soon be over.
But now, they could only watch with bated breath as the powerful Fenrirkin lost both of his arms.
Despite the pain, Zorren understood what he needed to do right now. He needed to surrender!
As long as he survived, he could one day take revenge! It might not happen after a day, a week, a month, or a year, but it would eventually happen.
He vowed to make it happen!
So, he opened his mouth to voice out his surrender.
"I su—rghhhhh!"
Zorren had planned to surrender, but Jason had no intention of letting him go.
He wasn’t naive.
The bastard had to die right here, right now!
Jason grabbed hold of Zorren’s jaws, prying them open with brute strength.
A cracking sound soon reached everyone’s ears as Jason broke his opponent’s jaws like he was just snapping a twig.
Unable to close his mouth and writhing in pain, Zorren could only stand helplessly as Jason grabbed hold of his tongue before tearing it off from his mouth a second time.
Zorren’s gaze landed on Jason’s bestial face that was filled with fury. And for the very first time in his life, he felt fear.
True fear.
The fear of death.
He was someone who lorded over others.
He was someone who held the lives of others in his hands.
But now, his life was no longer under his control.
The one who held his life was none other than the young man in front of him, whom he wished to tear limb from limb.
The same young man, whom he wanted to beg for mercy in front of everyone, including his great chieftain.
"Grit your teeth." Jason growled. "Oh, I forgot. You can no longer do that."
Without waiting for Zorren’s reply, a one-sided beating started.
Even if a Fenrir’s regeneration was powerful, it couldn’t possibly regrow severed limbs.
He only managed to regrow his tongue earlier because his transformation was done during his peak strength.
His vitality was strong enough to regenerate it in the span of a few seconds.
But now, that was no longer possible.
The Chieftain of the Grimfang Tribe, Oswald, already had tears running down his eyes.
His representative, Kargan, had been brutally crippled by Zorren.
He did his best to look at the arena with a blurry vision. But even though he couldn’t see what was happening properly, he was assured that justice had been served.
He didn’t care what anyone else thought of this brutal beating.
The arrogant man who had destroyed Kargan’s future was finally paying the price for his actions.
With that, Oswald was more than happy to shout the words that Leone and Jason had wanted to say out loud.
"Die, you scum!" Oswald roared with everything he had.
And at that exact moment, Jason’s claws pierced through Zorren’s chest.
Everyone saw that his claws passed through his opponent’s body. However, those who had better eyesight realized that Jason was holding something in his hand.
It was a heart.
A beating heart.
Right before everyone’s eyes, Jason crushed it, ending the life of the warrior who once thought he could slaughter anyone that dared to oppose him.
Zorren had joined the tournament believing himself to be an unstoppable force.
But now, his lifeless body lay at the feet of the White Wolf Sovereign.
The battle between the two wolves had finally come to an end.
Jason raised his head and howled loudly, declaring himself as the victor of this bloody battle.
Hagen watched this scene, his face ashen. With Zorren’s death, his dream of becoming the Barbarian King had also fallen into ruin.
