My Kingdom Building Done Right!
Chapter 399: Talks About The Dungeon Of Eden
"Hmm... hah..."
Leone slowly opened his eyes and found himself in a familiar room.
Lying beside him were Yuni and Aria, who had taken good care of his body while his consciousness occupied his vessel all the way in the lands of Eden.
Out of worry for him, the two ladies stayed with his unconscious body all day and all night.
When the young man returned to his original body, his exhaustion remained and pulled him to a dreamless sleep.
"Right... I need to return there soon," Leone muttered.
He tried to move his body, but it felt as heavy as lead. Concerned, he immediately sent a telepathic message to Daedalus, telling him about his current situation.
’It’s just a side effect from overexerting yourself yesterday," Daedalus replied calmly. "It was your first time connecting your consciousness over a long distance for an extended period of time yesterday, and you’ve overdone it. Your mind and body are struggling to reconnect, but don’t worry. This is only temporary."
After hearing the grimoire’s explanation, the young man finally stopped worrying about his condition.
Once he recovered, he would need to return to Eden. But before that, he wanted to at least have breakfast with his lovers.
And so, he called out to them softly in the hopes that they would wake up.
Surprisingly, the first one to wake up was actually Aria. The young lady looked at Leone sleepily for a few seconds before planting a kiss on his lips.
Clearly, she was still half-asleep. But Leone didn’t mind being kissed by his beautiful lover.
The two shared a few sweet pecks before Aria finally broke free from her sleepy state.
She then helped wake Yuni up.
With both his lovers awake, Leone told them about the things that happened in Eden while they ate breakfast together.
At the end of his tale, relief appeared on the young ladies’ faces.
"It’s good that no one died," Yuni said calmly. "You did the right thing, Leone."
Aria nodded. "Still, the Chieftain of the Grimhowl Tribe is simply too much. How could he attack you like that?"
"She’s right," Yuni agreed. "They should have at least given you a chance to explain."
Seeing his lovers react adorably angry for his sake, Leone couldn’t help but brag about the fortress he had asked Daedalus to build outside the city.
When Yuni and Aria heard this part, both of them cheered up a bit. At least their tribe members no longer needed to sleep in the streets like homeless people.
"Well then. It’s time for me to return there," Leone said. "My clone is a troublemaker, so I have to be there before the meeting starts."
"Rest assured, Leone." Aria held his hand gently. "We will take good care of your body while you are away."
"That’s right." Yuni nodded. "So make sure no one can bully our tribe in Eden."
"Understood," Leone replied. "I’ll be back soon."
He then asked his lovers to help him lie on the bed once more before he shifted his consciousness back to his clone.
The transition went smoothly.
Fortunately, his clone seemed to be properly asleep and hadn’t done anything to f*ck him up at the start of the day.
"Good morning, Great Chieftain." Kael greeted Leone as soon as the young man opened the door to his room.
"Are you feeling better, Kael?" Leone asked. "You took a few good hits last night."
"I have fully recovered thanks to your healing ability, Great Chieftain," Kael replied. "I checked on Russel earlier, and it’s also recovering well. I’m guessing that by nighttime, it will be back to normal."
"That’s good to hear." Leone smiled before walking toward the balcony of the fourth floor, which overlooked the city of Eden.
The young man could see that the guards manning the ramparts of the city walls were paying close attention to the fortress.
Finding their reaction perfectly normal, he didn’t pay them much attention.
Though, just as he was thinking of what to do while waiting for the meeting to start, he saw Oswald, Duncan, and Garen leaving the gates.
Their destination was none other than his newly built fortress, which had sprouted overnight like a mushroom.
Since they were his allies, the gates opened to welcome them.
"Leone! We have come to join you for breakfast!" Oswald shouted. "Do you have some bread?"
"Did you bring fruit jam and butter?" Duncan asked. "Surely you didn’t forget to bring them, right?"
"It has been a while since I’ve last eaten bread from the Aslan Tribe," Garen said. "I’m starting to miss it already."
The corner of Leone’s lips could not help but twitch. It couldn’t be any more obvious that the three chieftains had visited him so early in the morning purely to leech some breakfast off of him.
Still, they were his allies, so letting them eat wasn’t a problem.
"Did our people bake bread?" Leone asked Kael.
"Yes, Great Chieftain," Kael answered. "Actually, I have also come to ask you if you wish to eat breakfast together."
Leone had already eaten back at Grimjaw Mountain, but the clone’s body was different.
For one, the clone didn’t really need to eat or drink since it was powered by the core of the Monster King.
However, Leone was more than happy to eat and chat with his vassals and the three chieftains.
"Good. Please bring the food here, then," Leone ordered. "We will dine here while admiring the view of the city."
"An excellent choice, Great Chieftain." Kael bowed respectfully. "Please excuse me."
The shaman then headed to the kitchens to carry out Leone’s orders.
Meanwhile, Oswald, Duncan, and Garen had all climbed up to the fourth floor, where the villas meant for Leone’s vassals were located.
"By the way, Leone, do you still have some empty rooms here?" Oswald asked before coughing lightly. "Our residence in Eden is a bit cramped, so I’m wondering if we can stay here."
Since the three chieftains had already experienced living in the villas of the Aslan Tribe before, they wondered if Leone could spare them a room or two.
Fortunately for them, Leone and Daedalus had already taken this into consideration when the fortress was first built.
There were still plenty of villas on the fourth floor, which the three chieftains could use.
Besides, they were on the same side. To begin with, he had intended to let them live as comfortably as possible.
"There are still five villas available on this floor," Leone said. "Just take your pick after we’re done with breakfast."
"Now we’re talking!" Garen laughed as he patted Leone’s shoulder. "You didn’t let me down, Leone."
At the center of the spacious balcony stood a round table made from marbled wood, large enough to comfortably seat eight people.
Its most unique feature was the revolving tabletop, which allowed everyone to reach any dish they favored.
Whenever someone wanted a dish that was out of reach, they simply had to give the tabletop a gentle spin to bring the dish closer to them.
When Kael and the others arrived to serve food on the table, Leone then showed everyone how to use the revolving table.
It was a very simple feature, but for the barbarians, it was very revolutionary!
"I want this kind of table too!" Duncan said shamelessly. "Leone, are you selling one?"
"Um, I don’t mind buying one myself," Garen stated as he gently spun the table to grab the soft bread that he liked to eat when he was still in the Aslan Tribe.
"The two of you really have no manners," Oswald stated. "Um, by the way, Leone, can I buy two tables? Don’t worry, I will pay the full price!"
Leone didn’t know if he should laugh or cry, finding the three chieftains’ reactions very amusing.
A few minutes later, the three finally settled down and began to chat with Leone while eating.
The young man finally had the chance to ask them a question that had been bugging him since he arrived in Eden a day ago.
"Speaking of which, is it possible for me to enter the dungeon today?" Leone asked. "I’ve never been to one, so I wanted to see it with my own eyes."
"I see. So it’s your first time going inside a dungeon." Oswald played with his beard. "Since you are one of the chieftains of the Borderlands, I’m sure that you can enter the dungeon without anyone blocking your path."
"However, there are rules that you need to follow," Duncan commented from the side. "Each tribe has a limit to the number of people that can enter the dungeon. It’s a rule that has been enforced since Eden was founded."
The three chieftains then explained the rules of the barbarians when it came to dungeon exploration.
The way they handled it was very different from the way the Kingdom of Britannia managed their own dungeons.
It seemed that even in Eden, there was a hierarchy being implemented.
If the dungeon was important enough for the barbarians to establish strict rules regarding its exploration, then he wanted to see what kind of secrets and treasures were hidden inside.
And with the meeting still some time away, Leone decided to explore the dungeon with his vassals and see for himself just what kind of monsters they would face at the upper floors of a dungeon estimated to have a hundred floors.
