My Kingdom Building Done Right!
Chapter 319: Propaganda Done Right! [Part 1]
After Troy’s incredible show of strength, no one dared to oppose his decision anymore.
Once again, he declared that Osteon’s family would be sent to the Aslan Tribe and that those who wished to accompany him were free to leave the city.
As for those who wanted to swear their allegiance to the other tribes, they were also free to make that choice.
Though, just as soon as he finished stating his piece, something magical happened.
A giant projection appeared in the sky.
It showed Troy and his men defending the fortress, with Rhogar telling the Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe that Osteon had planned this all.
The moment the members of the Bonegnash Tribe saw this, all their faces immediately darkened.
Even more so when it got to the part where he mentioned how he had agreed to surrender Eden as payment for the Monster King’s cooperation.
Eden was a sacred place among the barbarian tribes of the Borderlands.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they could only stand tall all these years because of the resources they got from Eden.
If they ever lost it, the fall of the tribes was inevitable.
Yet, the projection didn’t end there.
It showed Troy’s battle against the Monster King.
His boldness, courage, and determination in the face of danger made those who were watching it feel their blood boiling inside their chests.
Every time he got injured, they felt as if they were the ones getting injured.
Every time he failed to latch onto a flying monster to continue the fight, their hearts lurched.
One child even shouted, "Don’t give up! You can do it!"
Troy, who was reliving his suicide attack, couldn’t help but feel impressed and embarrassed at the same time.
He had no idea what was happening at the moment. Though, if he knew that this battle would eventually be shown to the public, he wished that he hadn’t shown such a desperate expression on his face.
However, contrary to what he was thinking, his desperation actually made the scene more real.
In the face of impossible odds, a lone warrior faced off against a Dragon that no warrior in the Bonegnash Tribe, or any other tribe for that matter, would dare face alone.
And when the climax came, everyone almost forgot how to breathe when Troy and the Manticore were engulfed by the Breath Attack of the Monster King.
————
"I am Troy, Son of Morkan, and Chieftain of the Darkmane Tribe!" Troy declared. "And I’ll be damned if I don’t bring you down with me!"
————
Everyone in the city watched as the dying Manticore, still covered in flames, slammed against the Bronze Dragon’s head.
Then, the scene focused on Troy. At that point, his entire body looked like a burned abomination. Even so, he still lunged toward the Dragon’s eye with a dagger in his hand without a shred of hesitation or fear.
————
"Glory to the Darkmane Tribe!" Troy roared as he slammed the dagger into the Dragon’s eye with everything he had.
————
Then, the cheering of thousands of people spread across the city. It went without saying that the barbarians respected brave warriors.
After all, they were a race raised in a brutal world, where every day was a fight for survival.
The Monster King’s pained screech reverberated throughout the center of the city of the Bonegnash Tribe. However, this scream was swiftly drowned out by countless cheers.
"Don’t tell me you’re feeling embarrassed?" Malik said to Troy, who was surprised to hear people cheering for him.
Troy ignored Malik’s commentary, continuing to focus on the projection in the sky. His memory was fuzzy after stabbing the Dragon, so he wanted to see what happened next.
Soon, he saw Jafar break past the flying monsters just to save him. Then, he saw Leone leading the charge to secure a path for them to retreat.
The beautiful ladies in the crowd, who were seeing the handsome young chieftain of the Aslan Tribe for the first time, couldn’t help but blush.
For some reason, when Leone appeared, he had some kind of sparkling special effect on his face, making him look like some kind of prince who had come from the heavens to save the day.
The corner of Gundar’s lips twitched after seeing Leone’s exaggerated entrance being played in slow motion.
In fact, this lasted for nearly five seconds before the pace returned to normal. Then, it highlighted Leone and Godwin working hand in hand to help save Troy.
It also showed the Orcs riding on Dread Condors while fighting alongside them.
When they finally managed to retreat, the crowd cheered once more.
And then, the fighting began.
All the tribes were highlighted, every single one fighting tooth and nail against the monsters.
Yes. All tribes were highlighted, except for the Aslan Tribe.
A moment later, the scene of Ivan rallying the troops from the fortress and ordering a charge at the rear of the monster army was shown.
————
"Darkmane Tribe!" Ivan shouted. "Charge!"
————
A bird’s-eye view of the Darkmane Tribe’s warriors charging at the monsters with battlelust made the warriors of the Bonegnash Tribe subconsciously clench their fists.
They watched as they bulldozed against the monster army, killing everything in their path like a knife cutting through butter.
It even showed Ivan saving Jason from the Ogre Warlord.
Then, the other tribes were highlighted.
Godwin’s bravery.
Malik’s leadership.
Duncan’s support.
Oswald’s tenacity.
Garen’s fearless profile as he hacked monsters left and right.
The scenes of the chieftains being highlighted appeared many times in the projection. However, everyone began to notice a pattern.
Whenever Hagen was shown, his scenes were all lackluster.
In one, Hagen tripped on the dead body of a monster as he took a step back during a clash.
In another, Hagen shouted, "Fall back!"
And in another one, Hagen ran away.
Hagen...
Yes. It was showing all of Hagen’s blunders during the battle.
It showed the chieftain’s lack of courage, bravery, and determination. The complete opposite of what the other chieftains were showing.
Objectively, Hagen had fought valiantly in battle. Many lives were even saved thanks to his timely rescue. But for some reason, the images only showed the times he faltered and asked to fall back lest they get surrounded by enemies.
Yes!
It was all black propaganda!
Hagen was innocent!
Whoever made this scene made sure that the Grimhowl Tribe’s chieftain was going to be viewed in a bad light.
