Chapter 243 - 147: Flying
Chapter 243: Chapter 147: Flying
The lab fell into absolute silence for about three seconds.
Only the large industrial fan continued to roar tirelessly.
Three seconds later.
BANG!
A tremendous crash.
Zhang Yuan had slammed his palm down on the desk in front of him.
The force was so great it sent the enamel mug at the edge of the desk—the one printed with "Labor is Most Glorious"—jumping into the air.
The mug toppled and fell to the concrete floor with a sharp CLANG, spilling the remaining half a cup of coffee all over the ground.
But no one paid any attention to the mug.
Zhang Yuan kicked the swivel chair behind him, sending it sliding into a metal rack.
He turned around, his bloodshot eyes crimson, his face a mask of completely unhinged fanaticism.
A meaningless, primal roar escaped his throat.
"AHHH!!!"
That roar was like a lit fuse.
The student with the glasses ripped them off, slammed them on the desk, and let out a bellow of his own, jumping up and down on the spot.
Lin Fang covered her face and squatted on the floor, laughing and crying as her shoulders shook violently.
This group of top-tier doctoral and master’s students, these normally gentle and refined researchers one might see on campus, had now completely torn off their civilized masks, transforming into beasts bursting from a cage.
They ran in circles in the cramped lab, slapping each other on the shoulders, yelling and laughing.
Zhang Yuan’s eyes were red as he gasped for breath.
His gaze swept across the lab before landing, fixed, on the person sitting at the workstation near the door.
Chen Zhuo was just closing his copy of *Fundamentals of Aerodynamics*.
He stood up, stacked the book neatly with a hardcover notebook, placed them in his canvas bag, and zipped it shut.
He turned around, meeting Zhang Yuan’s eyes, which burned like a hungry wolf’s.
Zhang Yuan didn’t speak. He answered Chen Zhuo with his actions.
He pounced like a cheetah.
"Old Liu! Block him!"
Zhang Yuan roared.
The student with the glasses sprang into action, circling around from his computer desk to join Zhang Yuan. With perfect coordination, one on the left and one on the right, they blocked Chen Zhuo’s path.
Chen Zhuo froze for a moment.
He looked at his two senior brothers, their eyes bloodshot and breaths ragged, and took half a step back. He had a bad feeling about this.
There was no need for words.
Zhang Yuan grabbed Chen Zhuo’s left arm while the student called Old Liu seized his right. Without even needing to coordinate, they squatted in perfect sync and heaved.
"Up!"
Zhang Yuan roared, his face flushed red.
Chen Zhuo felt his feet leave the ground.
At that moment, this group of researchers, usually sleep-deprived and out of shape from their sedentary lives, unleashed astonishing physical strength.
They forcefully lifted Chen Zhuo off the ground and hoisted him over their heads.
"Holy shit!"
No matter how calm Chen Zhuo usually was, he couldn’t keep his composure now.
"Up you go!"
Old Liu yelled maniacally along with him.
The two men thrust their arms upward.
Chen Zhuo was thrown bodily into the air.
A wave of weightlessness hit him instantly.
His vision tumbled through the air. Chen Zhuo saw the yellowed ceiling of the lab, the whirring green industrial fan in the corner, the Alchemist standing in the back with a look of astonishment that quickly turned into a laugh, and Lin Fang, who was squatting on the floor, looking up at him and wiping away tears.
"Catch him!"
Chen Zhuo fell and was caught securely by two pairs of strong arms, then, without a moment’s pause, was tossed high into the air again.
"Again!"
Zhang Yuan and Old Liu were now in a state of complete frenzy, laughing and roaring as they tossed Chen Zhuo into the air again and again.
The fan in the lab roared, sending loose papers on the desks scattering into the air like confetti.
On the third toss, as he reached the apex of his flight, less than a meter from the industrial fan.
Chen Zhuo looked down at the crazed, laughing, red-eyed Zhang Yuan below him and shouted.
"Senior Brother!"
"Throw me a little more to the left!"
Chen Zhuo watched the green fan blades getting closer and closer.
"Any more to this side and you’re really going to throw me into the fan!"
