My Invincible Defense: Traversing the Endless Worlds

[Volume 2] Chapter 20: Child of Fortune Analyzer

In the Imaginary World of Battle Through the Heavens, Heavenly Flames of every kind blazed across the sky. Xiao Yan pushed his speed to the limit, but he still could not catch Chen-Awelon’s seven-colored rainbow horse.

An inexplicable irritation gnawed at him. He decided to visit the nearby Xiao Cla in Wutan City first and see whether anything had happened to his family.

Although Chen-Awelon’s steed was incredibly fast, he had never escaped Dou Emperor Xiao Yan’s divine sense. Forced to keep running, he had no time to catch his breath. Yet he desperately needed an opportunity to study the young Xiao Yan in his hands.

Dou Emperor Xiao Yan blurred out of sight and appeared in the Xiao Clan’s main hall an instant later.

Nalan Yanran, Ge Ye, Xiao Xun’er, Xiao Zhan, and the others were still there. When they realized a Dou Emperor had arrived, they began trembling in fear.

To them, a Dou Emperor was a figure from myth. Now that a living, breathing Dou Emperor stood before them, everyone shook from head to toe and dropped to their knees.

Seeing Nalan Yanran kneeling and trembling on the floor, Xiao Yan instinctively felt the urge to show off.

Unfortunately, he had more important matters to deal with. He forcibly suppressed the impulse and swept his gaze across the hall. Once he confirmed that none of his family were in any immediate danger, he relaxed.

“Father,” Xiao Yan said to Xiao Zhan. “Please rise. There’s no need for such a grand salute. I’m unworthy of it.”

Still kneeling, Xiao Zhan raised his head in bewilderment and cautiously examined Dou Emperor Xiao Yan. “You... You look just like Xiao Yan!”

Xiao Yan helped him to his feet and said warmly, “Father, I am Xiao Yan.”

Xiao Zhan could hardly believe his eyes or ears.

Had a Dou Emperor just called him Father?

His confusion only deepened.

Knowing this could not be explained quickly, Xiao Yan asked, “What faction did the people who abducted the young Xiao Yan belong to? What are they after?”

Since the Dou Emperor was speaking to him, Xiao Zhan hurriedly answered.

“They came from a sect called the Spacetime Administration Bureau. One of them was a huge brute named Zan-Yee. His strength was terrifying—he twisted and broke both my arms and legs.

“There was also a man named Jimmy. Chen-Awelon, who kept slapping Xiao Yan across the face, and a man dressed like a scholar who could pull out people’s souls. He called himself undercover investigator Jyan-Haw.”

“They dared break your limbs?” A murderous gleam flashed in Xiao Yan’s eyes. “I’ll uproot this Spacetime Administration Bureau sect and slaughter every last member!”

He rose into the air and swept the surroundings with his vast divine sense, immediately locating Chen-Awelon in the distance. Chen-Awelon had stuffed the young Xiao Yan into a strange cylindrical container and was operating a control panel beside it.

“That miserable insect! I’ll catch you and tear you limb from limb!”

Xiao Yan snarled. He condensed a horse from Dou Qi, mounted the snow-white steed, and charged after Chen-Awelon.

Suddenly, he noticed three out-of-place specks in the sky.

Three figures were flying at high speed, cutting through the air as they patrolled the area.

Xiao Yan immediately wheeled his horse around and charged toward the three figures with murderous intent.

With his speed as a Dou Emperor, he blocked the three intruders in an instant.

The man in front had a strangely mechanical upper body. Both his arms were covered in dense metallic scales, one eye glowed blue, and flames jetted from the soles of his feet.

The second man was covered in black feathers, with a pair of pitch-black wings growing from his back. His eyes were as sharp as swords, and his feet ended in vicious hooked talons.

The last man wore a green bodysuit that exposed his broad, muscular chest. Blue-silver radiance floated around him, an energy unlike anything Xiao Yan had ever encountered.

“Who are you? State your names!” Xiao Yan demanded, his voice booming like thunder.

“The Spacetime Administration Bureau is conducting official business. Uninvolved parties are ordered to leave at once!” the half-mechanical man declared arrogantly, his pride in his status plain to see.

He raised his chin and produced an identification card with one hand. It read:

Spacetime Administration Bureau — Investigator Zan-Yee

“The Spacetime Administration Bureau!”

Xiao Yan erupted in fury. An overwhelming aura burst from his body as endless flames spread around him. The three outsiders were so terrified that they lost their balance and wobbled in midair.

“Zan-Yee, I don’t think this guy’s a Celestial Sojourner!” the feathered man cried in panic. “He’s a native of this Imaginary World!”

“Don’t be afraid. Even natives of other worlds must show respect to the Spacetime Administration Bureau. He can’t withstand the wrath of the Star Cosmos Empire!”

Investigator Zan-Yee had absolute confidence in his position. He pointed at Dou Emperor Xiao Yan.

“Perhaps you don’t understand the Spacetime Administration Bureau. We pass judgment on the Endless Worlds and rule over countless spacetimes. We are not people someone like you can afford to offend—”

“Die, ignorant insect!”

Xiao Yan bellowed.

Already seething with rage, he did not even bother using a Dou Technique. With a single grasp, he crushed the entire lower half of Investigator Zan-Yee’s body into dust.

Before Zan-Yee could react, only his chest and head remained. Electrical sparks crackled through his ruined body.

“You dare attack the Spacetime Administration Bureau? You’ll regret this!” Zan-Yee shrieked.

Before he could finish, Xiao Yan struck again and crushed his head to pulp.

The other two fled in terror, desperately trying to contact someone as they escaped.

“Buddha’s Wrath: Reincarnation!”

“Annihilation Fire Lotus!”

Xiao Yan unleashed two Dou Techniques, blasting both men to pieces. Not even their ashes remained.

...

Chen-Awelon hid in a mountain ravine, anxiously waiting for the Child of Fortune Analyzer to finish processing its data.

Inside an orange cylindrical chamber, the battered young Xiao Yan—his face swollen like a pig’s head—spun at high speed. Countless streams of silver and purple-gold light circled him, entering and exiting through his seven facial orifices... and his asshole.

Chen-Awelon had built this Child of Fortune Analyzer using knowledge obtained from the Flex God’s Legacy. With Xiao Yan as a sample, it could uncover the principles governing Children of Fortune.

After Xiao Yan had been publicly branded and convicted as a lolicon, everyone had turned against him.

The worldline was already falling into chaos. Xiao Yan’s status as a Child of Fortune had become unstable, and the world no longer revolved around him. That was why Chen-Awelon could analyze him so much faster.

Using this method, Chen-Awelon could locate a world containing the ultimate Child of Fortune. He could then travel to that world, become the ultimate Child of Fortune himself, and attain the supreme Dao of Flexing!

“Showing off is a terrible habit,” Chen-Awelon remarked calmly. “I’m already addicted.”

A progress bar on the Child of Fortune Analyzer’s control panel crept steadily forward.

It was currently at eighty-eight percent.

There was still some time to go. Only when the progress bar reached one hundred percent would the analysis be complete.

The perfectly transparent Sainquartz flew over to Chen-Awelon. “Is it done yet? Can we get out of here? Dou Emperor Xiao Yan is about to come kill us!”

“There’s no hurry. Time is on my side,” Chen-Awelon replied evenly.

He looked utterly composed, like a master strategist who had already accounted for every possible outcome.

In reality, Chen-Awelon was scared out of his mind. He was frantically begging the Child of Fortune Analyzer to hurry the hell up. If Dou Emperor Xiao Yan arrived now, all his work would go down the drain!

No matter how panicked he was inside, Chen-Awelon was the King of Flexing. He could never let it show. He had to maintain his aloof, untouchable image at all times.

Otherwise, how was he supposed to show off?

“Dou Emperor Xiao Yan is here!” Sainquartz cried, spotting the rapidly approaching figure in the distance.

“Sainquartz!”

Chen-Awelon suddenly threw his arms around Sainquartz. Tears glimmered in his eyes as he pleaded pitifully, “I’m begging you! You have to stop him!”
