[Volume 2] Chapter 13: Olivia Hill Begins Her Cultivation Journey

Early the next morning, Olivia climbed out of bed, slipped into a cute maid outfit with white stockings, and went to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Finn joined her there, and together they spent two hours… making breakfast.

After they ate, Finn retrieved a Life-Extending Pill from his storage space. The thumb-sized, pale green pill had come from Fuu-Jinshen’s Mortal Cultivation Shop and could extend an ordinary person’s lifespan by three hundred years.

Finn raised the pill to Olivia’s lips. She parted them and swallowed it.

With that, she gained another three hundred years of life, barely enough to keep pace with Finn.

After a moment’s thought, Finn took out a Master-Servant Contract. He had acquired it by chance during a previous mission, and he only had five of them.

The contract created a bond between its two signatories, branding the servant’s soul with a mark that ensured absolute loyalty to the master and made betrayal impossible.

Finn unfolded the contract before Olivia. Without even reading it, she signed her name without hesitation.

Finn did not actually doubt Olivia’s loyalty. However, the Endless Worlds were incredibly dangerous, and the contract would strengthen her will and fortify her mind, helping her resist mental attacks such as enchantment, illusions, and mind control.

Despite gaining another three hundred years of life, Olivia did not look particularly happy. Her bright blue eyes were downcast with worry.

“Master, I’m far too weak to stay by your side forever, and I don’t have much talent either. What can I do?”

Olivia knew just how powerful Finn was. Compared to the life that lay ahead of him, her own lifespan was no more than a drop in the ocean. She dreaded growing old and eventually dying, unable to remain at Finn’s side for the rest of his life.

“No talent? Then we’ll create it,” Finn said casually.

He brought up the holographic display on his titanium-alloy phone and logged into the Myriad Realms Network. Curious, Olivia leaned against him as they browsed the network together.

Finn intended to have a spiritual root implanted in Olivia so that she could follow the path of cultivation.

Artificial spiritual roots and spiritual-root implantation procedures were nothing unusual on the Myriad Realms Network. Plenty of people without natural cultivation talent envied cultivators for their power and long lives, so a thriving spiritual-root implantation industry had emerged to meet the demand.

Of course, cultivators with implanted spiritual roots were not as powerful as those born with them, and they faced limitations in certain areas. Still, going from zero to one was already an incredible leap.

Finn knew that cultivation academies existed in many of the Endless Worlds. These academies were virtually indistinguishable from modern schools: they taught science and technology alongside cultivation techniques and also provided spiritual-root implantation services.

Finn entered the Myriad Realms Network disguised as a user from World Beta-THREE-D-8689652 and contacted the admissions office of Ronghua Cultivation University.

The head of admissions was delighted to hear that an ordinary person wished to receive a spiritual-root implant, learn cultivation techniques, and embark on the path to immortality. After all, both the procedure and the tuition would cost a fortune.

However, the moment Finn sent over Olivia Hill’s information, the head of admissions changed his tune. A sternly worded reply soon arrived.

“How could the immortal arts of our mighty Central Plains ever be passed on to a barbarian from the Western Lands? Do not let lust cloud your judgment!”

At the very end, however, he added:

The moment the man opened the application, the virus would invade his computer and steal every last piece of data on it. His phone would also start blaring Japanese porn at full volume, with no way to stop the playback until the battery died.

After ending his conversation with Ronghua Cultivation University, Finn searched posts on the Myriad Realms Network and found information posted by other Celestial Sojourners about another school called Flying Crane Cultivation Academy. Its reputation seemed quite good.

Finn disguised himself as a network user from World Alpha-ONE-E-827365 and opened the academy’s official website.

The website’s visual design was crude. Several images showed people of various skin colors dressed in traditional Daoist robes and riding flying swords through the air.

Flying Crane Cultivation Academy advertised itself as an “international cultivation academy.” It claimed to reject racial discrimination and treat students equally regardless of nationality or ethnicity.

Its online reviews were decent, so Finn used 200 Contribution Points at the Spacetime Destruction Bureau to obtain a large sum of that world’s currency. He posed as a wealthy man and presented Olivia as a rich young woman with no cultivation background who yearned to become a cultivator.

Finn arranged the entire enrollment package for her, including aptitude analysis, the implantation of a suitable spiritual root, tempering her bones and muscles, opening her meridians, Body Refining, Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, and much more.

But a master could only lead a disciple to the threshold. How far Olivia progressed from this point onward would depend entirely on her own choices and effort.

Finn spent another 40 Contribution Points to construct a permanent portal between worlds. The portal connected their villa to World A1E_827365, allowing Olivia to travel freely between them.

“Master!”

Olivia wrapped her arms tightly around Finn and refused to let go.

“All right. You’d better get going, or you’ll be late,” Finn said gently.

“Okay.”

Olivia reluctantly released him, tears glistening in her eyes. She wiped them away and made a silent vow to cultivate with everything she had until she caught up with Finn.

Then Olivia stepped through the portal and traveled to Flying Crane Cultivation Academy in World A1E_827365, beginning her journey on the path of cultivation.

Finn returned to the Spacetime Destruction Bureau’s headquarters. Sure enough, Chen-Awelon was already there waiting for him.

Several bands of bruising from the ropes still circled Chen-Awelon’s body. To look suitably badass, he immediately spent Flex Points to heal every last injury.

Before long, Bearmont, Sainquartz, Jyan-Tyenhaw, and Moonbell arrived as well. The infiltration team for the *Battle Through the Heavens* Imaginary World was now fully assembled.

Moonbell opened one of the Spacetime Destruction Bureau’s free spacetime tunnels. The group entered the dark passage and emerged on Earth on July 20, 2011.

It had been only one hour since the final installment of *Battle Through the Heavens* was published.

High in the sky, Bearmont set up a temporary operations platform. Jyan-Tyenhaw cast a spell, drawing clouds together into an unbroken sea that concealed them from sight.

Blue light flashed in Moonbell’s hand as she deployed several large instruments. She would remain outside the *Battle Through the Heavens* Imaginary World to conduct reconnaissance, stand watch, and provide technical and analytical support.

Moonbell frowned at the flickering screen.

“Watch out! I’m detecting abnormal ripples in spacetime! Another group has crossed spacetime nearby!”

A thunderous shout rang out from above.

“Celestial Sojourners ahead—halt! Spacetime Administration Bureau—prepare for inspection!”
