Chapter 155 - 155 Conditions
155 Conditions
As Qiao Yue had expected, Trand’s man inched towards her with a cattle prod.
“Number 47, you are a well-known figure in the underworld. Are you sure you want to embarrass yourself like this?” The man’s words rang in Qiao Yue’s ears.
Qiao Yue kept her mouth shut as the man’s cattle prod moved closer to her.
In an instant, the pain of electrocution ran through Qiao Yue’s body. She couldn’t help but spat out blood, which shocked Trand’s men into looking at each other.
Qiao Yue was in a bad shape. The injury on her ribs hadn’t recovered, the stitches most likely broken when she was tossed around, and now she’s been electrocuted. Pain spread all over her body, to the point of causing her chills.
Just as Qiao Yue was feeling dizzy, Trand’s men suddenly tied her up again.
“Are we retreating?” Someone who didn’t understand asked.
The person who carried her cursed and then said, “Yes! The police have somehow found their way here! Boss told us to take him and leave immediately.”
Qiao Yue’s lips curled up slightly when she heard the conversation between the two men. Not bad, Chu Jia acted rather quickly.
Although Qiao Yue couldn’t see through the blindfold, she felt Trand’s breath when she was put in the car.
“Boss has already asked them to change the landing site of the plane. We need to get to B-City as soon as possible and leave the country tonight!” Qiao Yue heard a voice coming from her left.
Trand acknowledged with a mutter and didn’t say anything else.
This time, the atmosphere in the car felt way more tense than before. Everyone was a bundle of nerves, afraid for their lives.
After some thought, Qiao Yue understood the change in Trand’s attitude. He thought that he had shrugged off the police and the assassins, and had even caught her, but the police still tracked him down… How could he not be afraid?
“Boss, the police are too quick. I suspect…” Before Trand’s subordinate could finish, everyone understood what he was saying, that the mole among them were still with them.
“Impossible.” Trand disagreed immediately.
“If we don’t have a mole, then…”
In an instant, Qiao Yue felt pairs of eyes on her. Feeling that she had been exposed, Qiao Yue held a blade to Trand’s neck in the blink of an eye.
“Don’t move,” Qiao Yue held the blade to Trand’s neck with one hand while removing her blindfold with the other.
Trand’s face was gloomy as he looked into Qiao Yue’s smiling eyes. “But we’ve search you earlier…”
Before Trand could finish his sentence, he saw Qiao Yue’s bloody arm, and his eyes were filled with horror.
“You actually…”
Before Trand could finish, Qiao Yue’s blade was so close to cutting him that he shut up.
“It’s my turn now, stop the car.”
Qiao Yue ordered the driver while holding Trand hostage. With Trand as her hostage, Qiao Yue was not afraid that his men would disobey her.
The car slowed to a stop and Qiao Yue grabbed Trand and got out of the car. This was her last chance; she wouldn’t let Trand escape again. Besides, Trand knew about her mother.
Although Trand was being held hostage by Qiao Yue, his words were still arrogant.
“I’ve underestimated you, Number 47. What now? Did you capture me to get a reward? If you want money, I have loads of it. I can give you money. I can also let you leave safely, but you must guarantee my safety.”
Qiao Yue looked at the people who were pointing their guns at her and said, “Tell me! How much will you give me?”
Qiao Yue didn’t really want the money, but since Trand joked with her like this, she’d play along.
“1 billion in C-Country currency. It’ll guarantee you a carefree life for the rest of your days. You will no longer need to live a life of wounds and injuries.” Trand offered immediately.
Qiao Yue chuckled. “Your life is a little cheap, isn’t it? You are an international drug and human trafficker, and you are worth a mere 1 billion?”
Trand was just joking at first. He didn’t expect Qiao Yue to negotiate with him. Now that she did, he started to wonder if Qiao Yue even wanted the money.
“I’ll double it, and I promise that as long as you don’t bother me again, my people will not touch you.”
