My Husband Is An International Idol
Chapter 139: A Night To Remember
The mansion had finally grown quiet.
After hours of discussing Arthur, Caroline, and the unanswered questions surrounding Edward and Vanessa’s deaths, everyone had eventually retired to their rooms.
Liliana remained downstairs for a while, helping Emily organize some of the documents.
But exhaustion eventually caught up with her. She said goodnight to everyone and slowly made her way upstairs.
Her thoughts were still crowded with Arthur, her parents and Caroline. So many questions remained unanswered..Yet tonight, she didn’t want to think about any of them.
She wanted to sleep. She wanted peace. Most importantly, he wanted Chris.
When Liliana opened the bedroom door, she found him waiting.
Chris was standing near the window, wearing a simple shirt and comfortable trousers. He had apparently been waiting for her.
"You took your time," he said with a smile.
"I was helping Emily."
"I figured."
Liliana closed the door behind her.
Before she could take another step, Chris walked toward her.
Then, without warning, he wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Liliana was startled. "Chris!"
He laughed softly. "Sorry."
"You scared me."
"I missed you."
"You saw me downstairs."
"That was almost an hour ago."
She shook her head, smiling. "You’re impossible."
He rested his chin lightly against her shoulder.
"I know."
For a few seconds, neither moved. The warmth of his embrace made the tension in Liliana’s body slowly disappear.
Then she felt his lips gently brush against the side of her neck.
She closed her eyes.
The touch of his lips sent a shiver straight down Liliana’s spine, shattering the last remnants of her exhaustion.
Her breath hitched.
The heavy weight of her parents’death and the secrets behind it dissolved, replaced entirely by the sudden, sharp awareness of Chris’s body pressed flush against her back.
"Chris..." she whispered, her voice laced with a sudden, breathless heat.
He didn’t answer with words at first, simply tightening his hold and burying his face in the crook of her neck. His hands rested firmly on her waist, and for a long moment, the only sound in the room was the steady rhythm of their breathing.
The chaos of the day seemed to fade into the background, replaced by the quiet sanctuary of the present.
Slowly, Liliana turned in his arms to face him. The moonlight filtering through the window illuminated the intensity in his expression, a mixture of relief and deep affection.
Chris reached out, his thumb tracing the line of her cheekbone with a tenderness that made her heart ache.
"I don’t want to think about any of it tonight," she murmured, her hands finding their way to his shoulders.
"Then don’t," he replied, his voice a low, soothing vibration. "Tonight is just for us. I want you Lily."
Then he leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a kiss that began with a soft, lingering sweetness before deepening into a passionate expression of everything they had been through together. It was a silent promise of support and a release of the tension they had both been carrying for so long.
The kiss deepened, shifting from a gentle reassurance into something urgent and consuming.
Chris’s hands slid from her waist to the hem of her shirt, his palms warm against her bare skin as he lifted the fabric over her head. Liliana let out a soft breath, her fingers instantly moving to the buttons of his shirt. She undid them with an eager clumsiness until she could press her hands flat against the solid warmth of his chest.
He led her toward the bed, the world outside the room falling away until it was only the two of them. They moved together with a natural grace, the shadows of the room wrapping around them like a protective blanket.
Chris gently removed the rest of her clothing. He looked down at her with an intensity that spoke of more than just attraction; it was a look of deep, unwavering affection.
Liliana felt a sudden rush of warmth as her cheeks flushed bright red. His gaze made her skin tingle, a pleasant heat spreading through her veins.
"You’re beautiful, Lily," he murmured, his voice barely a whisper in the quiet space between them.
She bit her lip, meeting his eyes as she whispered back, "I want you."
His gaze softened at her admission, a tender smile touching the corners of his lips before he closed the small distance between them. When his mouth found hers again, the urgency from before dissolved into a slow, deliberate rhythm. It was a shared language of touch and breath, a quiet sanctuary they had carved out after weeks of chaos and uncertainty.
Chris pulled her close, his arms wrapping around her as they tumbled back onto the mattress. The cool sheets offered a sharp contrast to the radiating heat of their bodies. Liliana tangled her fingers in his hair, anchoring herself to him as he trailed kisses down the column of her neck, making her breath catch in her throat. Every touch felt heightened, amplified by the heavy silence of the room.
For the first time in what felt like an eternity, the weight of the outside world ceased to exist. There were no looming threats, no past regrets, and no unspoken doubts. There was only the steady cadence of Chris’s heartbeat beneath her palm and the undeniable certainty of the present moment. They held onto each other tightly, letting the shared warmth and emotional vulnerability close the final distance between them, anchoring their souls together in the quiet dark.
Hours later, the storm outside finally began to clear, leaving only the soft sound of rain dripping from the eaves. Liliana lay with her head resting on Chris’s chest, listening to the slow, even rhythm of his breathing as he slept. He had one arm draped protectively over her waist, holding her even in his dreams.
She looked up at his face, illuminated faintly by the moonlight breaking through the clouds. A profound sense of peace settled over her. They still had challenges to face when morning arrived, but as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, she knew they would face them together.
