My Home's Ancient Well Connects to the Martial Arts World
Chapter 100: Junhao Nightclub
Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Junhao Nightclub
At night, the sky was a vast black cloth draped over the heavens, dotted with a few stars that glittered like gemstones.
In the bustling city, cars streamed by as neon signs and traffic lights flickered without end.
Luoxian County. Junhao Nightclub.
Junhao Nightclub covered two thousand square meters. It was located in the bustling Ice Sea New District of Luoxian County, a prime location with convenient transportation and heavy foot traffic.
As the most luxurious nightclub in Luoxian County, Junhao Nightclub strived to be the ultimate status symbol for the local elite. With its high-class environment and top-quality service, it was broadly divided into three main sections: a DISCO performance hall, a ROAM chill-out lounge, and private rooms of all sizes, including presidential, super-deluxe, deluxe, standard, and mini suites. The club adopted an international-level entertainment management model, pairing first-class facilities with first-class service. It was relentlessly focused on brand strategy and setting trends, making it the leader of Luoxian County’s nightlife and earning it a prestigious reputation among the town’s fashionable elite.
The nightclub’s entrance was marked by brilliant, lighthouse-like neon signs. The interior had three floors. The ground floor housed the performance hall, the dance floor, and the lounge.
The second and third floors were dedicated to private rooms.
The décor was a grand, classical, quasi-European style. Diverse yet unified classical patterns on the ceilings connected the various rooms. Large slabs of marble were used alongside collages of colored materials and geometric patterns. The walls presented a rich, multi-layered visual effect, thanks to detailed carvings, inlays, openwork, translucent materials, and three-dimensional mirror craft. Complemented by patterned granite floors, area-defining carpets, soft and streamlined furniture, geometric columns, and classical light fixtures, Junhao Nightclub was a complex and gorgeous combination of exotic symbols from both Eastern and Western civilizations, giving each private room a vibrant and unique feel.
On the first floor of Junhao Nightclub, multicolored lights flashed erratically to the ceaseless beat of thumping music. The hall was a cacophony of noise, filled with attractive men and women and all sorts of people drinking and carousing together.
"Jianhua, what brings you back to Luoxian County all of a sudden?"
"What else? I missed you guys!"
"The girls at Jun Hao are total bombshells. Hey, gorgeous, give us a kiss!"
"Jun Hao is the biggest nightclub in Luoxian County, so of course the experience is first-rate. And you know who owns it? Wu Qiang!"
"That Wu Qiang is a force to be reckoned with. Back in the day, he was a top dog in one of the big gangs in Fu City. He’s only started going legit these past few years."
"Wait, Jianhua, didn’t you say you knew this Wu Qiang?"
"Haha, I don’t know him personally, but I know a few of his underlings."
"Speaking of which, out of all of us, Jianhua’s the most successful. He’s the one working at a big corporation!"
"Heh heh, it’s nothing special. Mingsheng Group is only really famous within the province!"
"That’s still a big company! The fact that you’re a senior manager there makes you way more impressive than us!"
"Come on, come on, a toast! It’s been too long since we all got together. Tonight, we drink until we drop!"
"To that! Cheers!"
One of the men, who wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, was drinking and chatting with his friends.
Suddenly, a man dressed in a black shirt and black pants walked over. He looked like one of Junhao Nightclub’s staff.
"Jianhua, so this is where you’re hanging out. Are you free right now?" the man in black asked the one with the gold-rimmed glasses.
"Oh, it’s you, Wu Feng," Feng Jianhua said. "I’m free. What’s up? Why don’t you sit down and have a couple of drinks with us?"
"I can’t," Wu Feng said. "Our Brother Qiang has a deluxe private suite on the third floor. He’s very interested in you and would like to invite you up to get acquainted. Are you interested?"
Wu Qiang owned martial arts halls, nightclubs, KTVs, internet cafes, and more. He controlled more than half of all entertainment businesses in Luoxian County, making him an absolute heavyweight. Wu Feng was one of Wu Qiang’s men. In addition to being an instructor at the martial arts hall, he occasionally had to work security at Junhao Nightclub.
"What? You’re saying Master Wu wants to invite me?" Feng Jianhua’s eyes lit up with pleasant surprise. ’I can’t believe a big shot like that would actually invite me. If I can get on his good side, the benefits will be enormous.’
"Yes, no problem, I’m free. Completely free," Feng Jianhua nodded eagerly. ’How could I possibly pass up a chance to connect with someone of his status?’
With that, Feng Jianhua hurriedly followed Wu Feng toward the elevators.
"That Wu Qiang is a remarkable man."
"Anyone who can open Junhao Nightclub has to be impressive. It’s not easy to run a place like this; you have to have all your bases covered. You need connections in both the criminal underworld and legitimate society. Otherwise, if people were showing up to cause trouble every other day, the club wouldn’t last. No one without real power would ever dare try."
"And it’s not just the nightclub. Wu Qiang also owns KTVs, internet cafes, martial arts halls, and more. He’s a truly formidable figure."
"I never thought Jianhua would know someone like that. He’s really something else!"
"Yeah, that kid Jianhua is incredibly well-connected to know someone on Wu Qiang’s level!"
After Feng Jianhua left, his friends buzzed with discussion, their voices filled with envy.
Wu Feng led Feng Jianhua into an elevator, and they headed for the nightclub’s third floor.
"Wu Feng, how’s the injury on your foot?" Feng Jianhua couldn’t help but ask.
"It’s almost healed. No major issues anymore," Wu Feng said.
"I’m really sorry about that, for getting you injured," Feng Jianhua said, his face a mask of apology.
"It’s not your fault. I was paid to do a job. If something went wrong, I can only blame my own bad luck," Wu Feng replied.
A glint appeared in Feng Jianhua’s eyes. "By the way, I heard that this morning, that Ye Xing kid completely wiped the floor with your entire Changchun Martial Arts Hall. He’s one arrogant bastard, isn’t he?"
"Yeah. After the challenge, our Master was unusually furious."
"I wonder if your Master is thinking about revenge. I have plenty of ways to deal with that Ye Xing, or at least run him ragged," Feng Jianhua said probingly, his gaze shifting. "By the way, Wu Feng, my friend, since your leg is all better... are you interested in trying to steal that grass carp feed again? I’ll offer three hundred thousand this time. What do you say?"
"Three hundred thousand? That much!" Wu Feng’s face lit up with excitement. "Of course I’ll go! It’s just a little theft, right? I’d be a fool not to take that kind of money." But as he spoke, a cold sneer flashed across his eyes.
Business at Junhao Nightclub was booming. The elevator was packed with a dozen or so people. On the way from the first to the third floor, it stopped at the second floor for a long time as many guests got off. More people got on, also heading for the third floor.
DING!
The elevator soon arrived at the third floor. When the doors opened, eight or nine people poured out. Wu Feng led Feng Jianhua toward the reserved deluxe suite.
(Author’s Note: Racking my brain... the writer’s block is real. Just one Chapter for today. I need to sort out my thoughts, and I’ll make it up with three Chapters tomorrow!)
