Chapter 220: Byeol Gets Carsick

For the first time, he suddenly understood why some people enjoyed speeding. The feeling of speed and excitement really was addictive.

It was just a little too bumpy.

After all, a wheel loader was not a sports car, and its comfort level became terrible once it was driven too fast.

"Meow!" Byeol’s claws were firmly hooked into the seat cushion, and even his cry came out with a trembling note because of all the jolting.

The pads of his paws had already gone numb from the constant vibrations caused by the engine throughout the journey, but he had never expected that to have merely been the beginning.

Hwi rolled over on the ground, smacked his lips, and continued sleeping. His quality of sleep was so good that it was almost enviable.

The wheel loader arrogantly roared as it charged forward, while the constant sound of kill notifications rang beside Joo Joowon’s ears, making him feel incredibly happy.

Although the elite monsters that had followed him had eitherun away halfway through the journey or slipped away as soon as they realized that the situation was not favorable, all that remained were low level zombies that only gave him +1 experience.

However, although their quality was lacking, their quantity made up for it, and the amount of experience they provided was still quite considerable.

With such a huge commotion, there was naturally no way the creatures nearby could fail to hear it. Many of them were attracted by the noise and came over to investigate.

However, after witnessing this brutal scene, they silently retreated again. They did not make the slightest sound throughout the entire process, as though they had never come there in the first place.

As the sun was about to set, Joo Joowon finally stopped his crazed behavior of repeatedly smashing through zombies and jumped down from the wheel loader.

Earlier, Joo Joowon had believed that if he wanted to harvest experience quickly, he would have to rely on fire attacks or throw explosives into groups of zombies.

Now, however, he felt that driving around and luring monsters over so he could crush them to death with the vehicle was not a bad method either.

However, after turning around and taking another look at the wheel loader, Joo Joowon gave up on the idea.

It was not because he thought the zombies would refuse to cooperate. With the brains of low level zombies, it would actually be strange if they could refuse to cooperate. The problem was that the bulldozer blade at the front of the wheel loader had already been completely ruined, probably because he had been swinging it around so frequently.

And that was only what he could see. Who knew how many other parts had already developed problems in places he could not see?

If the wheel loader broke down halfway through the journey, he would only end up making a fool of himself.

Joo Joowon did not understand vehicle maintenance, so he could not tell how much longer the wheel loader could continue to function. However, he knew that he had not paid the slightest attention to the condition of the vehicle along the way.

He had been charging around recklessly the entire time. The probability of something going wrong was far higher than the probability of nothing happening, so there was no need to take such a risk.

The ground was covered in blood and chunks of flesh, and stepping on them made him feel somewhat uncomfortable, causing him to frown slightly.

He planned to keep an eye on this area at night and see whether any creatures that ate carrion would come over and clean all of this up.

He planned to leave the supplies here for the time being and explore the surrounding area himself to see whether there were any other people nearby.

Why had Byeol not gotten out of the vehicle with him? Was he avoiding the dirty ground?

Joo Joowon immediately turned back, only to discover that Byeol was lying on the seat cushion with his ears drooping. His entire body looked listless and weak. He immediately picked Byeol up and brought him down from the wheel loader. "Good boy, what’s wrong? Are you hungry?"

Byeol looked at Joo Joowon weakly, then shifted his body and curled up in his arms. His two snow white front paws rested against Joo Joowon’s arm. "Meow!"

Joo Joowon: "???"

He hurriedly patted Byeol’s back. "What’s wrong with you? Did the canned food go bad because it was past its expiration date?"

Byeol did not respond to Joo Joowon. He continued vomiting violently for quite a while before finally feeling more comfortable in his stomach.

Only then did Byeol finally give Joo Joowon a response to his worried concern. He stood up and gave Joo Joowon two solid punches.

Joo Joowon: "???"

Wait, why was he hitting him?

It took Joo Joowon a while to finally realize it.

Motion sickness?

Joo Joowon had taken Byeol in a vehicle before, and he had never shown any signs of motion sickness.

So why had he suddenly gotten carsick this time?

Joo Joowon was somewhat confused by it, but he did not dwell on it. Instead, he turned around and woke Hwi, who was still sleeping.

Hwi stretched lazily on the seat cushion and looked at Joo Joowon with sleepy, unfocused eyes.

"You two stay here and help me keep watch. Don’t let anyone else take the supplies."

"Meow~" Hwi responded with a single cry before lying back down again.

Looking at his sleepy appearance, Joo Joowon felt that he probably had not understood a single word. He could only look toward Byeol again.

Byeol licked his fur and let out an impatient cry.

Joo Joowon was finally reassured. Only then did he leave with the queen ant.
