My God-Level System Can Rebuild Civilization in the Apocalypse!
Chapter 187: The Hidden Truth
After all, if BlessedByRNG already had excellent equipment and considerable strength, he would never have needed to ask for help in the first place.
Under those circumstances, even if BlessedByRNG was usually generous, when Joo Joowon only asked for two items, he should not have voluntarily offered to give away the Zombie Core as well.
This was not because BlessedByRNG would object to the distribution of the rewards.
Under normal circumstances, even if he felt Joo Joowon was receiving the short end of the deal and his conscience bothered him, he should have asked whether Joo Joowon wanted to choose one more piece of equipment or perhaps offered some extra beginner gear to make up the difference.
Instead, he directly offered the Zombie Core.
At the moment, Zombie Cores had no obvious use for players, but everyone understood that they were certainly not trash or worthless items.
The fact that BlessedByRNG behaved this way could only mean one thing.
He had already obtained something even more valuable, making the Zombie Core insignificant in his eyes.
Whenever someone willingly gave up part of their benefits, it was usually because of one of two reasons.
Either they cared about the other person, or the benefit itself simply held little value in their own eyes.
It was just like when BlessedByRNG first came to ask Joo Joowon questions and immediately offered beginner equipment to demonstrate his sincerity.
That action represented the fact that he possessed quite a few similar items and subconsciously believed he would never lack them in the future, which was why he had given them away so readily.
Everyone had their own opportunities and fortunes.
Because of that, even though Joo Joowon had noticed the implication, he did not pay much attention to it.
He rejected BlessedByRNG’s proposal and insisted on taking only the share that rightfully belonged to him.
Someone else’s opportunity belonged to them.
There was no reason to assume that just because they did not value something, he should accept it without hesitation.
Although Joo Joowon felt that his own moral bottom line was fairly flexible, there was no need to change the agreement they had made from the very beginning.
If he broke his own principles too easily, it would not take long before he became completely indulgent.
In the end, he had not actually contributed that much.
He had merely given the other party something that was no longer particularly useful to himself.
There was no need to become greedy.
Seeing this, BlessedByRNG did not insist any further.
After handing over the two cards to Joo Joowon, he ended the conversation.
Joo Joowon stored the cards away without using them immediately.
Instead, he first asked Moon Jungi how the arrow shafts were coming along.
Although he now possessed much better methods of attack, using spider silk still depended heavily on Mental Power.
Under ordinary circumstances, it was still much more practical to rely on the compound repeating crossbow.
As a result, his demand for bolts remained quite high.
After receiving confirmation that the order would be completed on time, Joo Joowon finally felt relieved.
He also noticed that the level displayed behind Moon Jungi’s ID had already increased to Level 3.
That meant the old man had probably killed quite a number of zombies over the past few days.
The only thing Joo Joowon did not know was whether the levels of the old man’s family members had improved as well.
Based on the clues Joo Joowon had uncovered so far, he had a feeling that players who still had no level by the end of the seventh day were going to have a very difficult time.
Since he could barely take care of himself, Joo Joowon had no intention of worrying about the fate of everyone else.
He opened the chat window of HighlyCultured.
[ @Ashfall: Are you there? I want to ask something. When you usually kill Elite monsters or Bosses, how many pieces of equipment do they normally drop? ]
HighlyCultured checked the notification from the favorites list almost immediately after noticing the movement in the marketplace.
He was surprised for a moment before quickly understanding why Joo Joowon was asking.
[ @HighlyCultured: The system usually guarantees one or two random pieces of equipment based on the Boss itself, along with a Zombie Core formed from its level and accumulated energy. ]
[ @HighlyCultured: If the Boss was actually wearing equipment, those items are also added to the drop system as special drops and distributed randomly. ]
[ @HighlyCultured: From what I’ve observed, Elite monsters normally drop one or two cards in addition to the Zombie Core. Bosses usually drop one to five cards. If one of those drops happens to be an exceptionally high quality or very special item, the rest of the loot is usually downgraded, sometimes becoming completely ordinary or even junk. ]
Joo Joowon’s expression became serious.
[ @Ashfall: So it’s basically like legendary equipment in online games? ]
[ @HighlyCultured: Exactly. ]
After a brief pause, HighlyCultured asked another question.
[ @HighlyCultured: Why are you asking this? Do you think your drops aren’t normal? ]
Without hesitation, Joo Joowon sent him the description of his title effect.
After reading it, HighlyCultured quickly replied.
[ @HighlyCultured: I think the "extra drop" probably means that equipment actually worn by the Boss becomes guaranteed loot. ]
[ @Ashfall: Maybe. ]
Joo Joowon sent the short reply, but his eyes flickered thoughtfully.
He had suddenly noticed something rather interesting.
After hesitating for a moment, he asked another question.
[ @Ashfall: Sorry for asking, but the skill you obtained today... was it a skill you created yourself? ]
The instant Go Minam read Ashfall’s newest message, his entire body stiffened in shock.
How did Ashfall know about self created skills?!
Could Ashfall also be reborn like him?!
Go Minam clearly remembered that in his previous life, the very first self created skill did not appear before the public until three months after the game had begun.
Logically speaking, even if the world announcement had revealed that he had obtained a skill, Ashfall should have assumed that he had either learned it from an NPC or obtained it as a Boss drop.
