Chapter 967

Anton’s boasting about his experiences and the fact that his new organization would lead him on supposedly extraordinary adventures across the multiverse caused such longing on the faces of his young forest elf friends that Leldorin became worried.

He interrupted Anton’s bragging by asking him what had brought him back to the Northern Forest.

“I’m looking for a mushroom called a Dream Mushroom,” Anton told Leldorin.

Anton had to describe the mushroom’s physical characteristics because the elf didn’t recognize the name.

“It’s the Nightmare Mushroom!” Enoril exclaimed after Anton described what he was looking for.

Apparently, the forest elves called it a Nightmare Mushroom instead of a Dream Mushroom because the fungi almost always caused nightmare hallucinations rather than pleasant dreams.

The best part was that Leldorin had them in abundance in his warehouse. Since Anton was a friend, the elf merchant was willing to trade the mushrooms for mana stones.

Anton bought twice as many mushrooms as the mission required. Just like the Mithril Ores and Purple Corals, he planned to keep some in his inventory because he knew that all the items Vernatu Tower asked its members to gather were somehow related to spatial magic. More than likely, Anton would find a use for them someday.

Since he had managed to acquire the mission item faster than usual, he decided not to leave immediately. Instead, he stayed with his elven friends to drink and tell stories.

Anton wondered why they didn’t ask him for movies or television shows. Curious, he asked Leldorin about it.

He learned that the Northern Elves had traveled to Ormunda and, using their friendship with him, had managed to negotiate with Anton’s father to establish a semi-permanent portal between Rose Manor and the Northern Forest.

The problem was that the portal was illegal because they hadn’t disclosed it to the Ormundan government.

The Northern Elves used the portal to travel to Ormunda and watch movies and television shows at the Sunder Family cinema.

Since everything was being kept secret, the elves who wanted to use the portal to watch films would usually disguise themselves.

Because the elves’ disguises were being treated as part of an ongoing cosplay promotional campaign by Anton’s family, no one paid much attention to them.

As a matter of fact, a lot of young people had copied the trend. Because of that, it was now normal to see groups of people in the areas near the cinema wearing costumes based on different movies.

The Northern Elves actually enjoyed the whole process and were willing to don the costumes. A fad had started among the elves over who could create the best costumes, and the only rule was that they had to be based on movies.

Original designs weren’t accepted.

Because the elves’ costumes were so ingenious and elaborate, many people assumed that they had been made by the Sunder family costumers. This caused the reputation of the Sunder family tailors to reach lofty heights.

Leldorin told Anton that it was now common for young people in Ormunda to boast that their costumes had been made by the Sunder family couturiers.

The elf merchant was aware of the situation because he needed to be. Part of his job was staying informed about the market.

Leldorin admitted to Anton that the cosplay business had also started to grow in the Northern Forest Elven Kingdom.

For a brief moment, Anton wondered what expression a transmigrator would have if they accidentally traveled from Earth to this world and suddenly saw Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia walking through the streets.

Or perhaps they might stumble into the Northern Forest Elven Kingdom and, instead of seeing ordinary elves, find themselves surrounded by Gryffindor or Slytherin elves holding wands that they could actually use to cast spells.

The thought greatly amused Anton, and he laughed out loud.

When his elven friends saw him laughing, they asked what he found so funny.

Since his elven friends had already seen many films, Anton explained the concept of being isekai’d and how someone from the world where the movies originated might react if they suddenly stumbled into their world and saw movie characters walking around.

That made his friends laugh as well.

Their party lasted for quite a while, eventually culminating in everyone planning to go to Ormunda to watch a movie at the cinema.

Anton joined in on the fun and donned a costume as well.

The portal the elves were using had been established in a building beside the main building. That meant the elves could use it without bothering anyone in the manor.

Anton shook his head at the potential security breach that an unmonitored portal could create for the city. He simply shrugged and thought that if something truly bad happened, they would deal with it then.

Besides, he knew that both the forest elves and Anders understood that the portal was temporary. Sooner or later—possibly sooner—the elves would have to establish communication with the Ormundan government so they could create a legal portal between the Northern Forest and Ormunda.

Leldorin told him that the portal was only a trial, and that in a month, the elven leadership would begin communicating with the Ormundan government.

Since Anton already had the Dream Mushrooms with him, he and his friends traveled to Ormunda to continue partying.

They watched a movie at the cinema while wearing costumes, and no one bothered them since it had become common in Ormunda to see groups of young people wearing movie costumes and partying in the streets.

The problem was that other people joined Anton’s group, and soon they had become part of a huge crowd.

The party lasted the entire night, with everyone going from one bar to another.

Anton enjoyed his time with his friends immensely, talking about all kinds of things, but mostly movies and television shows.

For a moment, he thought that if his life had been different and he had been stuck in Ormunda with nothing more than the ability to share movies, television shows, anime, and novels from Earth with the people of this world, he would have been content with that.

The problem was that Anton’s Diablo System had given him immense power that allowed him to traverse the multiverse.

Because of that, his ambitions had grown beyond what this world could offer.

When the sun came up, the elves returned to the Northern Forest, leaving the insensible young Ormundans behind.

Anton considered returning to Rose Manor, but since he had recently spoken with his father and sister and had been assured that everything was running smoothly, he thought it would be better to return to Traveler’s Haven.

He could spend his time solidifying the Spatial Array in his mind so that he could rank up as soon as possible.

Once he advanced his spatial skills, he would have the ability to travel to other worlds, eventually reaching the point where he could travel between different dimensions.

Anton couldn’t wait to have the ability to travel to Earth.

He wanted to bring his family to visit the world where the movies came from. The good thing was that they would be fairly safe there because, with their power, they would be practically untouchable.

They could visit all the places they had seen in the movies, such as Paris, London, Disneyland, and more.

The only difficulty they might encounter was the language barrier, but with spells, it wouldn’t really be an issue.

As a matter of fact, Anton knew that everyone who had watched his movies was unaware that the characters in the films weren’t actually speaking the local language, since Anton’s Diablo System translated their dialogue in real time.

Once he was back in Traveler’s Haven, Anton didn’t delay and submitted the Dream Mushrooms.
