My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 952
Anton had no intention of exploring more of the Huoxi continent for the time being. However, after Captain Liu shared some information about cultivation, Anton had become increasingly intrigued. He wanted to learn more and, perhaps, even meet some actual cultivators.
He wanted to find out whether they had sects and other things commonly found in the cultivation novels he had read. However, Anton stopped himself when he realized that learning everything about cultivation would be a major undertaking and would take a considerable amount of time.
He realized that the best thing he could do was to first become a full-fledged Traveler and learn all the skills that a Traveler should possess. Once Anton was properly equipped, he could start exploring the world and learning about its different forms of knowledge.
What surprised Anton was that he had already found one of his goals in this world.
He had thought that he would only be able to find a cultivation system on other planets or in other dimensions.
He wondered how cultivation compared to wizardry. Anton theorized that the cultivation power system in this world was relatively weak simply because this world was not ruled by cultivators.
Unlike in some of the Eastern novels he had read, cultivators in those stories had reached such heights that they could travel through the cosmos almost at will.
In the two continents he had visited, Rendindura and the Gale Continent, Anton had not encountered any truly powerful cultivators.
Based on his theory, that meant the strongest cultivators were probably located on other planets or in other dimensions.
After Anton decided that he was far enough away from the town, he descended to the ground, cast Anchor, and then cast Gate, which would take him to the Librarian's Cottage in Remuth.
He was back and had finally completed his first mission.
That meant he could now advance to the Initiate Rank and finally learn the next set of skills that an Initiate Traveler should possess.
The moment he arrived at his house in Remuth, Anton dispelled the Gate. He saw that Ekios was outside, planting some flora to turn the front of the cottage into a garden.
Anton did not bother Ekios and went to his room.
He entered his Diablo System, and as expected, there was already a game in the non-ladder multiplayer section of the Diablo II portion of his Diablo System. Anders and Anna were already waiting for him there.
Before leaving for Huoxi, Anton had told Raymond to inform his father that he would participate in their monthly meeting, which was scheduled for that day.
"Romina was delighted by the movies and television shows you gave Raymond before you left," Anna said.
Anton could see that Anna was happy about the shows as well.
More than likely, she had been the first person to watch the fashion-related shows he had given Raymond.
"The movies you handed over should keep the cinema business going for years," Anders commented.
"I'm quickly climbing through the ranks of my organization. That means that sooner or later, it might take a while before I can communicate with the family face-to-face. Even this method of communication will probably become less frequent," Anton told his father and sister.
"That's fine. In truth, keeping in contact with us all the time probably isn't healthy. You'll need to start living your own life. We're doing more than fine. We're gaining power as well, and our family is becoming richer.
"Since we have this convenient method of communication, though, it would still be better if you talked with your family once in a while," Anders told his son.
Anton told his father that he understood. He also told them about the new abilities Traveler's Haven had given him. Sooner or later, he would have the skills to traverse different worlds and even different dimensions.
"Does that mean you might be able to reach Earth soon?" Anna asked excitedly.
"Possibly," Anton simply said.
He then reminded both his father and sister that the next Diablo II ladder season would begin in a month or two. They should not neglect it and should use it as an opportunity to increase their strength.
They assured him that they considered Anton's Diablo II System extremely important, so they would not neglect the ladder season once it arrived.
Anton’s conversation with his family lasted only an hour.
Afterward, he left his room and saw that Ekios was still working at the front of the cottage.
"Ekios, I'm back," Anton called to his caretaker.
"Sir Sunder! You're here. How long will you be staying?"
"I'll be leaving immediately. How are you and your family adjusting to your new life? Are you doing well financially?"
"We're very happy. Your manor is extremely beautiful, and the house you've given us is beautiful as well. We've even converted the surrounding land near our house into small farms," Ekios said.
"I'm glad you're doing well. I hope you're not pushing yourselves too hard just to save the funds I gave you. Make sure to use them to keep your family healthy," Anton told Ekios.
The caretaker assured him that he understood Anton's intentions.
"We're simply used to working. Even though we have the funds, we can't just remain idle," Ekios told him.
Ekios then asked if Anton wanted to meet his wife and son, but Anton told him that he was about to leave for Traveler's Haven.
"Maybe next time," Anton said.
After his conversation with his caretaker, Anton left the cottage and headed toward his organization. He chose to walk since his house was close enough.
Less than an hour later, Anton reached the organization. He immediately went to Lemuel's office.
Once he was seated, Anton gave a complete report of everything he had done while completing his mission.
After a few minutes, Lemuel, who had begun to look increasingly uneasy, stopped him.
"We should report this to Master Vernatu," Lemuel said.
Thankfully, Anton's teacher was in his office, which meant they could go there directly.
While they were heading toward Master Vernatu's office, Lemuel told Anton to report every detail of what he had done to complete his mission, including anything he considered insignificant.
Once they reached Master Vernatu's office, Lemuel left Anton there.
"Sit down, then report," Master Vernatu said.
Anton sat down and began his report.
He started from the moment he arrived in the Xinati Wilderness. He told Master Vernatu every detail, including how he had used his summons to search for the spatial-energy-laced mithril ore while he rested inside a comfortable little tent placed on top of his Grizzly.
Anton explained his reasoning as well. Even if he had personally joined the search, his contribution would not have been significant, so they had simply continued using his summons to search the area.
He told his master that while his summons were searching for the spatial-energy-laced mithril ore, he had continued solidifying the second circle of the Spatial Magic Meditation Array. He had completed its solidification a few days earlier.
Anton then told Master Vernatu that after gathering the ores, he had explored parts of the Huoxi continent and shared everything he had learned.
After that, he shared the coordinates of the wild dungeon containing the ores he had harvested. He also told his teacher that he had deliberately kept the wild dungeon intact, meaning they could return there periodically to harvest more of the rare ore.
Once Anton finished his report, Master Vernatu began scolding him.
The reaction surprised Anton.
He then learned that the primary purpose of the initial mission was to test a Traveler's ability to complete a mission in a harsh environment.
The fact that Anton had made himself comfortable throughout the mission had defeated the purpose of the test.
After a while, however, Master Vernatu admitted that it had been wrong for them to assume Anton would approach the mission in the same way as the other novices.
Anton was a powerful Supreme Rank wizard with abilities that allowed him to make his surroundings serve him.
That meant the first few missions designed to help a Traveler climb through the ranks would not be particularly useful to him. Those missions were meant to teach novices how to adapt to the power they possessed and survive in difficult environments.
Anton, however, already possessed overwhelming power.
As a result, those missions simply did not apply to him in the same way.
