Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Sparring and Ginkgo City

Li Heng had originally thought that after his spar with Lu Bichuan was over, nothing else would happen. But to his surprise, the flat-chested loli actually challenged that girl from Gongtong City, Qian Yun, to a spar.

Qian Yun readily accepted, and both girls said they would stop before any real harm was done.

But as for what prompted the spar between the two girls, Li Heng had no idea. He asked a few classmates, but none of them seemed to know either.

However, after Li Heng’s spar with Lu Bichuan, the way everyone looked at him had changed completely from before.

The students from Maple City regarded him with even greater respect.

The reactions from the Gongtong City students were more complex. Though their expressions varied, whatever they were thinking, they all instinctively kept their distance from Li Heng after he left the arena.

Li Heng had planned to go back to his room and mess around on his phone, but seeing the flat-chested loli take the stage, he stopped in his tracks. ’Just how strong has Bai Shasha become since the Fallen Jiao Icefield?’

Qian Yun’s weapon was a Judge’s Pen. Judge’s Pens are typically classified as hidden weapons, but the one Qian Yun used was rather long.

It was less a hidden weapon and more a short-range one.

Bai Shasha wielded two short curved sabers. Li Heng recognized one of them as the Wolf Claw Curved Saber she had obtained long ago in the Wild Wolf Valley secret realm; the other was an ordinary Soul Energy Curved Saber.

Unlike the earlier spar between Li Heng and Lu Bichuan, this "spar" between Qian Yun and Bai Shasha was clearly far more intense.

After the two girls took the field, they merely exchanged a fist-and-palm salute. The moment Lu Shengming signaled for the spar to begin, they moved almost in unison, neither having said a single word.

More importantly, as the girls’ fight wore on, the boys watching from the sidelines—including Li Heng and Lu Bichuan, who had just finished their own spar—started to break out in a cold sweat. Some even couldn’t help but gulp.

’This is a spar?!’

’They’re practically trying to kill each other!’

The eyes!

The nose!

The throat!

The heart!

The crotch!

A spar was meant to avoid vital points, to stop before landing a decisive blow!

But Qian Yun and Bai Shasha did the exact opposite. Every strike was aimed at a vital point, each attack more vicious than the last, their assault coming in relentless waves.

The curved sabers slashed and flicked upward; the Judge’s Pen jabbed, smashed, and deflected. With every exchange, the girls’ figures seemed to blur together, and sparks flew with the grinding clash of their weapons.

Li Heng had originally thought it was best to avoid provoking girls who use poison, like Chen Bingjing. But after watching these two fight, he made a mental note to add two more types to that list: ’Never mess with girls who use short-range or hidden weapons!’

’The consequences are absolutely lethal!’

But internal complaints aside, Li Heng realized that the flat-chested loli was indeed much stronger than she had been back on the Fallen Jiao Icefield.

For one thing, Qian Yun’s Judge’s Pen was a fine piece of equipment, granting +3 to both Strength and Agility. In contrast, Bai Shasha’s two short sabers each only added one point to Strength.

Qian Yun’s equipment was better than Bai Shasha’s, yet they were fighting on even ground, trading blow for blow.

’Based on this alone,’ Li Heng analyzed, ’Bai Shasha’s actual strength must be higher than Qian Yun’s. And she’s clearly much faster than before!’

"Ah! There’s blood!"

Just as Li Heng was analyzing the flat-chested loli’s abilities, one of the female spectators suddenly cried out in alarm.

But her cry didn’t draw the attention of the other students; their eyes were already fixed on the source of the blood.

Bai Shasha’s curved saber had torn through Qian Yun’s top, blood seeping through the fabric. Meanwhile, the tip of Qian Yun’s Judge’s Pen was less than ten centimeters from Bai Shasha’s throat.

"That’s enough!"

Just as Bai Shasha was about to retract her saber and Qian Yun was about to press her thrust, Lu Shengming intervened.

He declared the match a draw and brought the spar to a halt.

In truth, Lu Shengming had also been watching with his heart in his throat. During their fight, he had even thought to himself: ’Are all the female students who use short-range weapons this terrifying nowadays?’

Every single one of their strikes had aimed for a vital point. Not only were their techniques vicious, but their attack speed was also relentlessly high.

The moment blood was drawn, Lu Shengming knew he had to intervene. Otherwise, at this rate, there was going to be a serious incident tonight.

Lu Shengming first told Qian Yun to go tend to her wound, then addressed the surrounding students in a clear voice.

"It’s getting late. Everyone, head back and get some rest. If any of you wish to spar to hone your skills, please submit a request to the Flying Boat’s staff tomorrow. Any unauthorized private sparring will result in a demerit. In serious cases, it will lead to immediate expulsion!"

After Lu Shengming finished speaking, the students began to disperse from the training ground. As Qian Yun passed by Bai Shasha on her way to get her wound treated, she asked in a low voice, "Another round sometime?"

"Your call."

Bai Shasha’s voice was as cold as ever. With that, she slowly descended from the training platform and walked toward where Li Heng was standing.

"See you tomorrow, Li Heng~" Seeing that everyone was leaving, Chen Bingjing came over to Li Heng’s side and whispered to him before skipping merrily out of the training ground.

Lu Bichuan also came over to exchange a few polite words with Li Heng before turning to leave. He showed no intention of checking on Qian Yun, despite them both being from the same city.
