My Enemy Became My Cultivation Companion
Chapter 1504 - 812: Great Yin Immortal Palace (Bonus 4-in-1)
Chen Yi withdrew his gaze, suppressed the surging thoughts in his heart, and slightly cupped his hands to Dragon Dao Adept: "In that case, I won't disturb you further. Farewell."
Dragon Dao Adept also raised his hand in return: "Forgive me for not seeing you off."
Yin Weiyin quickly followed suit with a gesture of respect, then the two turned around and, neither fast nor slow, flew away in the direction they had come.
However, just as they were about to leave the vicinity of the Immortal Palace's Dream Sea, they suddenly saw a point of chaotic light rise in the distance, rapidly enlarging.
Chen Yi and Yin Weiyin turned abruptly and saw a streak of chaotic light shoot towards the Imperial Palace from the direction of the Dream Sea, its momentum imposing and without concealment.
"Dragon Dao Adept, the hour has come, I've come to take over!"
A loud voice rang out from the chaos.
As the owner of the voice approached the Imperial Palace, he slowed his steps, and Chen Yi faintly saw an enormous object in his hand, which quickly became clear as the chaotic light drew near.
It was a head.
A head with a black face and white beard, its expression hideous, eyes wide open with anger, and even though it had lost life, it still carried a residual aura of majesty and ferocity. On the head was a crudely styled black crown.
Chen Yi's pupils contracted sharply.
Was that... King Yan?
He had seen King Chujiang in the underworld and recognized the style of the crown at a glance.
The chaotic light carrying King Yan's head arrived in an instant near the Imperial Palace's Dream Sea, halted sharply, revealing the figure of an old Daoist in ancient robes, white-haired yet youthful-looking, appearing unfading in spirit.
He first looked towards the direction of the Imperial Palace and shouted in a voice like a great bell:
"This rotten job is truly not for mortals. This filthy creature dared defy orders, but luckily it has been completely exterminated..."
His words came to an abrupt halt.
For he also noticed Chen Yi and Yin Weiyin, who were yet to fully leave, standing out starkly in this place.
Malice flashed in the Daoist's eyes.
He scrutinized the two unexpected guests up and down,
"Hmm? Who are you?"
"Brother Zhan Yue, hold your hand. That one... inadvertently strayed here and is a senior cultivator, not here out of intent to spy. The reason has been explained, and they were about to leave."
The Daoist addressed as "Brother Zhan Yue" heard the words, slightly squinted his eyes, and remained noncommittal.
Yin Weiyin felt the unfathomable pressure emanating from the Daoist and instinctively tightened her grip on Chen Yi's sleeve. Though she was the Taichua Goddess and not lacking in cultivation, the current predicament exceeded ordinary understanding, reaching beyond her capabilities, and she subtly turned to glance at the young Chen Yi beside her.
Chen Yi, still in the guise of an eight-year-old child, his small body wrapped in oversized clothes, maintained a calm and composed demeanor.
He even... had the leisure to gently pat the back of her hand gripping his sleeve...
Yin Weiyin's tense heart inexplicably relaxed, as if finding a backbone, indeed, with him here... This almost instinctive reliance had quietly taken root who knows when, continuing unabated till this day.
"Senior, my brother is hot-tempered, many offenses committed, I hope you forgive." Dragon Dao Adept called from afar.
Chen Yi glanced sideways at Zhan Yuezi.
Zhan Yuezi raised his left hand, his five fingers forming a seal, divining face to face.
Dragon Dao Adept saw the gesture, his brows slightly furrowed, seemingly wanting to say something but ultimately restrained, merely tightly observing Zhan Yuezi's movements, his expression turning more solemn.
After a few brief moments, Zhan Yuezi's calculating fingers abruptly halted, he slowly raised his head, and asked softly:
"Are you people from East Yu? Or... Taihua Mountain?"
Upon these words, Chen Yi's eyes suddenly sharpened.
Since entering Western Jin, he and Yin Weiyin had utilized various spells to disrupt the Heavenly Secret, obscure their origins, rendering ordinary predictions incapable of tracing back specifics, much less identifying their connection to Taihua Mountain. Yet, this Zhan Yuezi managed to penetrate their concealment in such a short time?
Dragon Dao Adept's face changed instantaneously upon hearing this.
"Brother?" Dragon Dao Adept cried out, the hazy light around him instantly turned dense and sharp, forming a faintly besieging stance with Zhan Yuezi.
But there was no need for Dragon Dao Adept to utter another word.
"East Yu scoundrels, how dare you spy on Da Jin's Dragon Vein! You shall remain here!"
A thunderous shout exploded over the Dream Sea.
Zhan Yuezi fiercely tossed the enormous head of King Yan forward! That black head, after leaving his hand, expanded rapidly in the wind, growing to the size of a house, spewing forth thick, ink-like Netherworld Death Qi from its seven orifices, extending countless sinister ghostly hands, which surged towards grabbing at Chen Yi and Yin Weiyin.
At the same time, he formed a seal with his left hand, a dark-golden blade light that appeared capable of splitting mountains erupted from his palm, racing forward, tearing through the chaos of the Dream Sea, and directly chopping towards Chen Yi's crown.
The ferocity of the assault, the ruthlessness and decisiveness of the strike, was clearly aimed at slaughtering on the spot.
Ding!
A deafening clash of gold and stone resonated throughout the Dream Sea, rippling out from the point of impact, uprooting several dozen feet of the Dream Sea around it into streams of air.
Zhan Yuezi lowered his head to look, the child now holding a pitch-black sword, ancient in design, unmoving, undeniably a Divine Weapon.
As the stream of air dissipated, the moment the sword's shadow emerged, all the surging constructs of the Dream Sea paused, seemingly suppressed by an invisible sharpness.
No... not suppressed...
Zhan Yuezi squinted slightly, momentarily mesmerized,
Rather, suddenly... they gained weight.
As if they had been incorporated into reality, assimilated into the laws of the world, truly mysterious.
The devastating blade light capable of splitting mountains was steadily held back by this seemingly light sword, unable to advance, yet this did not surpass the shock induced by the peculiar Sword Intent.
Such Sword Intent, almost unfathomable within this realm, rather akin to another world...
