Chapter 571: Chapter 30: You Gift Me the Heaven-Flipping Skill, I Gift You the Daluo Dao
"What... is that?"
During the Late Han Dynasty, on a blood-soaked battlefield, the warring Immortals, mortals, ghosts, and Buddhas on both sides all stayed their hands, looking up at the world-shaking Decree.
Through the Decree, they could clearly make out six infinitely large figures.
One cradled the vast Buddha Realm in his hand. Beside another, a supreme Miaoshu swayed. A third was shrouded in shadow, with countless cosmoses swirling at his side, the apparent Source of all things.
A fourth embodied natural purity, the very manifestation of all creation. The fifth, with a single glance, revealed the end of the Era, the final destination of all things.
The sixth, clad in a Feather Robe, simultaneously possessed the image of Heaven Opening, the genesis of all things, and the visage of final annihilation...
Wielding his Twin Swords, one foot on the Yellow River and the other on the Yangtze River, Liu Bei’s expression changed. He recognized one of the figures and stammered in a daze:
"Is that... the Purple Cloud Palace Master?"
Nearby, Zhuge Kongming, who was playing his zither and forcing back numerous Bodhisattvas and Buddhas with its music, also raised his head, a chill running down his spine.
"Those three Daoists... are they The Three Pristine Ones?"
An Ancient Buddha who had been dominating the battlefield also muttered in a daze:
"It’s Amitabha Buddha! And Ancient Bodhi Buddha!"
The battlefield fell deathly silent.
The names of The Three Pristine Ones, the revered titles of the two Buddhas—who under heaven did not know of them?
The common folk might not know the meaning behind these names,
But for these Great Cultivators, these Immortals and Buddhas, how could they possibly not know?
However...
The Buddha Mother stared intently at the figure in the Feather Robe, feeling as if it were all an illusion.
The Purple Cloud Palace Master, sitting shoulder to shoulder with The Three Pristine Ones and the two Buddhas!
He was stunned and began to doubt himself. ’Did I... not exaggerate back then?’
’If I’m not mistaken, the six of them are sitting around a game board, aren’t they?’
The Buddha Mother naturally understood the significance of the Dao Fruit game board—or rather, a game that only [Enlightened Ones] could participate in...
He shuddered.
It wasn’t just him; even Taiyi at his side was utterly dumbfounded.
’Is the Purple Cloud Palace Master really Lu Xuan?’
His confidence wavered, and he wondered if he’d gotten something wrong. ’If Lu Xuan is qualified to sit at the Dao Fruit game, then what’s the point of all my scheming!’
’But from what I know of the current Lu Xuan, he isn’t even an Ancient One. He hasn’t even attained a Dao Fruit. How can he be sitting at the Dao Fruit game? Impossible.’
’In other words... the Purple Cloud Palace Master isn’t Lu Xuan?’
Taiyi’s gaze deepened. He wasn’t anxious, just murmuring silently to himself.
’I have to speed things up.’
’Lu Xuan... what if I deliver the opportunity for a Dao Fruit right to you?’
’Everything is still under my control.’
Just as the entire Late Han Dynasty reeled in shock,
「Western Shu.」 ℴ
Supreme Profound Clarity ascended into the heavens and accepted the supreme Decree. Feeling the vast, surging power within it, he bowed slightly.
"I accept the Decree of the Purple Cloud Palace Master."
His voice boomed like a great tide, resonating in all directions.
"Good."
High above the River of Time, the Purple Cloud Palace Master nodded. He reached out and smoothed over the tear in the river, then glanced sideways to gaze at the two Ancient Buddhas.
"Supreme Profound Clarity is an uncertainty, an Innate Uncertain Number."
Lu Xuan said calmly,
"Since the Buddha Lord is so confident, let us wait and see if this Innate Uncertain Number can overturn your foregone conclusion, Fellow Daoist."
Amitabha Buddha frowned and stared at Lu Xuan.
"Can it be that you wish to help that Supreme Profound Clarity overturn everything, Fellow Daoist? I do not believe I have offended you. Was it not I who invited you to this Dao Fruit game?"
Lu Xuan smiled.
"You worry too much, Fellow Daoist. I have no such intention. I simply wish to see... whether this game that can determine the future is truly real."
"Also..."
He said, rising with a smile,
"Bringing me to this game was indeed a kindness, Fellow Daoist. Please, accept my respects."
As he finished speaking, Lu Xuan gave a slight bow to Amitabha Buddha. The latter’s tightly knitted brow relaxed, and he accepted the gesture with a calm smile.
"Fellow Daoist, perhaps we can have more dealings in the future."
Lu Xuan nodded without a word.
The game came to a temporary close. The two Buddha Lords walked toward the depths of Chaos, lotuses blooming with their every step, their Buddha light shimmering.
The Blind Daoist, his back ramrod straight, had an ominous feeling. He spoke as if muttering to himself, yet also as if issuing a warning:
"My dear apprentice, from now on, countless eyes will be focused on you, focused right here. You must not do anything out of line, lest... they spot the discrepancy."
He heavily emphasized the word ’discrepancy,’ reminding the Supreme not to get rough at this moment, or it would be obvious something was wrong!
The grim-faced Supreme ground his teeth with a CRACK, and finally forced a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
"Since I have made my move, I must see it through. I’ll head to the God-Sealing Years first."
With that, he glanced sideways at Lu Xuan.
"Martial Nephew, whenever one makes themself a piece on this board, they must honor their word. I am going to the God-Sealing Years. You must also complete your sermon quickly and finish narrating the middle and final volumes of the Celestial Book."
"I understand, First Martial Uncle," Lu Xuan replied, his expression unchanged as he bowed.
Immediately, the Supreme shot a vicious glare at Primordial, then took a step and vanished, his figure sinking into a segment of the River of Time.
From that segment of time, the clash of weapons rang out, followed by the agonized cry of a Daoist. As the injuries were reflected across all his forms,
the Blind Daoist’s face became visibly red and swollen. A bruise formed over his one good eye, and his forehead split open!
"Old Supreme!" he roared in fury. Another agonized cry echoed from the River of Time and, as the injury reflected, the Blind Daoist’s nose was broken.
The Daoist clutched his nose, hiding his face with his sleeve as the agonized screams from that bygone era echoed endlessly...
"Supreme, you inhuman bastard!!"
The Blind Daoist, his face hidden by his sleeve, made a muffled sound, and a few of his shattered Primordial Jade Teeth crumbled and fell out.
THUD! THUD! THUD!!
In the God-Sealing Years, the sound of flesh-on-flesh blows continued to resound through the Nine Heavens...
Lu Xuan and the Lame Daoist exchanged a look, both of them wincing. They quietly retreated, leaving the Blind Daoist standing alone in the Chaos as one injury after another materialized on his body...
